O’Halloran Plastering and Stucco Inc.

I called O’halloran Plastering & Stucco Inc about buying stucco repair patch. I asked salesperson if I can pick up the stucco patch now (about 4:00 PM). She asked me to drive to the store. The store is a home in residential area. I ringed the bell. No one answered. I waited for 20 minutes and called the salesperson again. She kept saying someone will call me back 5:00 PM. It’s next day now. I still haven’t received a call. I’m very disappointed.

I was recommended to O“Halloran Plastering and Stucco by general contractor I know. Trying to communicate with Pat is extremely difficult. He uses an answering service to handle all his incoming phone calls. As with any answering service, they know absolutely nothing about his business and you get a different person every time you call. You have to spend an inordinate amount of time giving the service all your details only to have them say that «Pat will call you back». Only problem is that Pat uses this service as a phone screening service and will not call back in a timely manner or never at all. After a week of waiting, he finally called me back. I told him about my job and asked for him to come by for a bid. He said would but was busy with another job and that he would call me back when he had time. Of course, never heard back from Pat. Left several messages with the answering service but he has never called back. I understand if someone doesn’t want to do the work. But at least respond and be up front about things. To never respond to customers is incredibly unprofessional to say the least.

Pat gave me an estimate to demolish my window box and cover the wall with stucco. As he began working on the house a Daly City building inspector drove by and asked that the job become permitted. A small, simple job became a lengthy ordeal. In the end, I was left with a significantly better job. What was great (and I think pretty unusual) was that Pat charged me the contracted rate. He did not raise the price even though he wound up doing much more work. I am left with a great stucco job and respect for an honest craftsman.

I recently completed a new home which meant that I worked with over 25 trades during the past 2 years. I can count on one hand the individuals that I would recommend to my friends if they were building a home. Pat O’halloran would be on that list. He is a craftsman who stands behind his work 100%. The quality and service was outstanding. Any issues (and there are always issues in construction) were handled without hesitation or blame. The stucco work they did on my exterior walls made my entire property look amazing. First rate contractor.
