Sharon truly is the real deal. Her classes are ashtanga based for those who cannot make it to early morning practice or want to augment with a mixture of a challenging flow practice that provides ample opportunity to learn advanced poses while maintaining focus of alignment on the basics. While too many Marin classes tend to keep people at a very basic level (some that I have attended on and off for 15 years have not varied their sequences a bit) and others now seem to be all about who’s who and the ‘scene’, Sharon offers the opportunity to actually learn and deepen your practice. I never worry about getting hurt or working beyond my capacity as Sharon understands limitations and will go out of her way to make recommendations should an injury arise – she is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. I cannot recommend her enough. Sharon is hands down the best teacher we have around.

Sharon is the best yoga instructor I have found. She has completely propelled my practice over the last year and a half and I constantly find myself finding a deeper level within a pose and new poses at her class. Her classes are addictive; I try to create my schedule around her classes. Her unique tonal voice may seem odd at first but soon is very meditative. Her deep vinyasa style is amazing, challenging, and transformative. Still, she happily makes modifications for individual students and seems genuinely invested in students development.

I’ve done yoga with Sharon on and off over the past 10 years. Now that she’s over in Marin I don’t get to her classes as I’d like to, which is a huge bummer — she is fantastic!
Sharon focuses on Ashtanga, and she is the real deal. Studied in India in the 90’s, before it was the cool go-​to-​India-​and-​learn-​yoga thing is now [and she doesn’t brag about it, either.] and is a true expert in her craft. She blends in a bit of her Buddhist background [again the real deal, lived in India and studied extensively] with a crazy mix of strength and calmness that gets you through a grueling 90 minute practice.
Sharon has a beautiful practice and encourages her students to challenge their boundaries without pushing too far, which many less experienced teachers do [I have the permanent muscle pull to prove it!]
Marin peeps, you are so lucky — take a class. You won’t regret it.

Sharon has been teaching me for 13 years! I always enjoy her class no matter how I feel that day. She tunes in every student whether new or long time practitioners. She pretty much taught me everything I know about yoga and the benefits are immense and extend beyond her class. It’s a very vigorous practice but she is always there to help and give alternatives so we can reach our full yoga potential. There is a core of long time students in her class and it makes it even more fun and inspiring. I grew so much from the experience of Sharon’s class. Her approach is the best and she is one of the most open minded person I’ve ever known. I do practice also with other teachers but she has been the top one since the first day. I just love her personality, skills and knowledge, sense of humor and consistency. Best Vinyasa flow EVER!

Sharon offers a great flow style yoga with enough room for variations for everyone to participate. I have been practicing for years and she encourages advance students to push their practice and work on their areas of interest to increase their strength and flexibility. While her classes are probably a little challenging for first-​timers, she is very patient with newer students offering them encouragement and helpful variations. The class is serious, but not stiff. We do laugh, because face it yoga can be funny.
It is highly motivating to see the talented yogis in the room and it always inspires me to try something new. Sharon has a great understanding of yoga and it shows in the flows she builds for each class. If you want to feel great and gain strength, come to Sharon’s class and join the group of very friendly dedicated regulars who have been coming for years.

I’ve been a dedicated student of Sharon for almost 5 years. She has helped me take my 14 year yoga practice to another level with her challenging Ashtanga vinyasa yoga style. I believe in going to my edges in life, so my yoga practice with Sharon meets this need.
Sharon is not only a very strong and capable Ashtanga teacher, she is also very knowledgeable about injuries and how to allow your yoga practice to help you heal. She has helped me get past a neck and shoulder issue, where I ended up healing without western medicine.
Sharon has a special ability to keep me (and all of her other dedicated followers who gather together like clockwork) completely focused on my yoga practice while I’m in the room. With her fast-​paced sequences to her music, she offers her students a yoga class which truly resets the body and spirit.
I miss Sharon’s classes now that I’ve been inundated with work and raising children. As I ramp up my yoga class schedule, Sharon’s classes are the first ones I put on my calendar!
