Description

Specialties

Founded in 1969, O’Hanlon Center for the Arts in Mill Valley is a member, public and donor supported organization that offers classes in Visual, Literary, Meditative, and Performing Arts as well as Children’s Programs and Special Events. We also have a beautifully well-appointed 2000 square foot gallery with new shows each month. On three acres of land, OHCA is a perfect place to awaken your creativity, explore the arts and discover your voice.

History

Established in 1969.

Artists Richard and Ann O’Hanlon founded our non-profit in 1969 on their three-acre wooded residence in Mill Valley, where Ann taught visual arts classes emphasizing a «perception» approach to creativity. That is, programs highlighted the creative process, the continued pursuit of meaning and authenticity through observation, exploration and experimentation, and the discovery of one’s unique form of creative expression.

Over time, the organization began growing its programming to include multi-disciplinary arts offerings that are likewise informed by the «perception» approach. OHCA is operated by an active Board, an Executive Director, volunteers, contractors, and facilitators. Sessions are held in two of the Center’s main buildings: the Loft studios and the O’Hanlon Gallery.
