I’m sad to write a less than awesome review about this place, because it seems like it may be owned/run by locals. Unfortunately, it smells like this place has had some water damage because it has a really old and musty stench. We went in there for the first time to try to find some local beer, but their selection was below average at best, and their prices were pretty high. The QFC across the street is a better bet in both price and selection, plus, it doesn’t smell like an OLD ski lodge.

Well, they’re just a few days away from closing for good, but here they are, and there I was. It kinda sucks that so many enterprising small business owners wanted to jump into liquor retail and it isn’t working out for them – evidently this is only one of a couple dozen closures in progress around the state, maybe even more than that. What a bummer. Maybe the grocery store model is better in the long run, but I could tell the guy was bummed to have to close up shop. These places are basically identical to what they were when the state ran them, from what I can see. I had never been in this place until last night, but it had all those shelves and signs that looked just like the old WSLCB stores. Not much left at this point, what with the 20% off everything sale happening. Lots of empty racks and shelves. They did have a couple coolers with moderately interesting beers, and a tap station with growlers for the four beers they were pouring. That was pretty cool. Buddy of mine told me they had a nice humidor for $ 30, which was probably at least 50% off, maybe a whole lot more. Not quite my style, but, still, these guys are selling all kinds of stuff right now, trying to salvage a little revenue while they pull up stakes. I feel funny saying I’m sorry to see them go, because I have dozens of check-ins at the sub place 50 feet away, and I have never been in here. But it’s a bummer to see someone who saw a business opportunity, took it, and could only watch it fizzle. Best of luck in the future.

Despite closing, the employees on staff were helpful and friendly. Right now(late November), the entire store is on sale. We picked up some rum pretty cheap en route to a party. The sales associate answered many questions about which might make a good sipping rum versus one for mixing purposes. I’d say it’s worth your while to swing by if you live close. Parking was a breeze. There wasn’t a lot of cars on a Saturday afternoon.
