Remeber when you would buy s milkshake and you’d get the mixing cup in addition to your glass? me too! Well here they give you a 12oz to go plastic cup and they drink out of the metal cup behind the bar while you watch… sick sadist bastards!

Love the location next to the Souhegan River and the cute kitschy building. The staff was really nice, the coffee was good, and the place was clean. The kids loved their hot chocolates! The burger menu is interesting and the bun is buttered and toasted but the burger itself was bland, as were the fries. The chocolate pie was mostly a mountain of generic tasting whipped topping. Prices are a bit on the high side. The bacon was fabulous!

One of the few 24 hour spots in NH. The food is inexpensive and well made diner fare. I have eaten here several times over the years, and it is always solid, unlike the Manchester one. I have had sad experiences at that location. Breakfast is a good choice, as are the chicken fingers, and fried options. The only thing that wasn’t great was the chocolate cream pie, I brought home for my mom. Way to much whip cream in the pudding to cream ratio.

I always enjoy eating at diners and I enjoy breakfast food, and I am rarely disappointed when I go in. It doesn’t matter what time, and I have a large variety of visiting times: midnight on a Saturday, 4pm on a Tuesday, 9pm on a Sunday, or 11am on a Wednesday. I have always had consistently good food here, and the prices are extremely reasonable. The grilled muffins are delicious, and waffles and pancakes are great. I’ve had eggs Benedict, a Portuguese hashbrown special, chicken fingers, mac ‘n’ cheese, etc. I’ve never had a bad experience with the food, and I’ve never had an order messed up. Be sure to look at the specials before you decide what to get, because they always have some interesting choices up there! I haven’t even had the chance to try dessert on my many visits because the portions are so generous that I am already full! One of these days, I will have to go in and just get dessert because they have a large variety of yummy looking pies that are fresh. The diner is open 24/7, which is awesome because that is rare in New Hampshire for non-fast food places. It’s located right on the Milford Oval, so you can visit other places on the oval(assuming you didn’t come at 3am when everything else is closed). Parking can sometimes be a bit difficult during prime hours, such as weekend mornings, but there is a parking lot down a small hill right past the diner, and another one down the street across from the Union Coffee Co, just a two minute walk. All parking is free as well, which is a bonus. The only thing I’ve had a small problem with is a couple of the servers. Both were ladies that seem uninterested in serving me and did not check in with me, and one of them was rude to me. However, most of the time when I go in, I am served by Britney. She has been there a long time and knows what she is doing, and she is very nice! Most of the servers are great and the food is consistently good, cheap, and available 24/7, which is why the Red Arrow Diner gets 5 stars!

Stopped in mid afternoon to grab a cup of coffee with a friend, he had been before and wasn’t keen on the idea, but hey, it was just coffee right? Mistake, we sat at a small table and ordered, just coffee, should be quick? Not! Then another waitress is gonna vacuum the rug next to us, but the vac gets jammed up! Next the screw driver is digging out all sorts of dust dirt hair and god knows what from the beater bar, then she proceeds to vac it all up, we cannot chat while this is happening. Finally we get the bill. Pitiful experience, proves that you can screw up a cup of coffee! I knew we should have gone to cumbys or Mobil on the run…

This place was, sadly, one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve every had. We took a long drive through NH on this beautiful Columbus Day and found ourselves in Milford around 2:30 pm and hungry for lunch. We Unilocaled a nearby place called the Barking Monkie but it was closed so we wandered up the street and found this place. There were only a few other diners inside, so we took a seat at the counter. The décor was retro diner style and kind of cute, but seemed a little dirty. Our waitress, who didn’t seem very busy, made a point of telling us how overwhelmed she was about how busy she had been or earlier in the day. After about 10 minutes of looking through the menus and waiting for her to come over to us, we placed or orders. Hubs asked for the meatloaf special and I requested the steak bomb. Our sodas were delivered with no straws and our waitress was far too harried to get us sone, as she was furiously comparing receipts to the computer monitor. This was when I began to notice the extraordinary amount of flys in the restaurant. They were everywhere! In fact, one was so brazen and comfortable there that he rode proudly upon our oblivious waitresses shoulder the entire time she was trying to reconcile her receipts. Thankfully another waitress arrived to work the afternoon shift and asked if we needed anything. By this point I didn’t want to put my lips on their cup so I was grateful to ask for a straw. At least 15 minutes went by before our lunch was delivered. Hubs said the meatloaf was flavorless but that the gravy tasted like it had gone sour. He asked me if that was even possible. My steak bomb was also very very bland and the straw waitress(not our server) noticed my distress and provided me with A1 sauce, which helped a little. It didn’t take us long to decide we were finished with our meal, but it did take us a long time to pay our bill. Our server was now attempting to balance the cash drawer and no bills could be processed until she was finished. This gave hubs time to use the men’s room. He told me later that the smell of urine was so strong in there, and that the room was so dirty, he was surprised we couldn’t smell it from the dining room. I can’t recommend this place at all. However, I still enjoyed a beautiful drive.

As soon as we got there we were greeted. The lady said we could sit wherever we wanted. The diner was clean and the staff was friendly. I had to use the bathroom. The trash was full to the point of over flowing with paper towels. The bathroom didn’t have any heat and the water never got warm. Our food came out fairly quickly, my mash potatoes were cold, barely make it to warm. I ordered the country chicken. The Mac and cheese was ok, nothing to order again and not gross that I couldn’t eat it. The chicken tenders were cooked great but has a little sweet flavor to them. I didn’t like that very much. The gravy was decent, but again nothing to make me want it again. My friend ordered the Dinahmoe Burger, he said it was delicious. Unfortunately I can’t really say much on the burger. My overall experience of this place… Well I won’t be going back. If I’m hungry and this is only thing open late night, I’d have tastier food at a fast food restaurant.

Living in Milford, it’s nice to know that there’s a place you can go at any time for some good dessert. :) I have a huge sweet tooth, so when I saw that, it was over. The food is mediocre, but the dessert makes up for it. Also, my SO works as a bar tender, and gets home late, so it’s nice to know we could still go out for a bite to eat if we wanted to.

The red arrow in Milford used to be on par with Manchester. That is not the case at all any longer. I have been there twice now in the past 2 months. I go in late(typically 1:30−3 am) both experiences have been terrible. Let’s start with the first. Myself and a friend get there, sit down and wait a while for service. The place is dead mind you. The waitress comes over and we order. I ordered a turkey burger but requested in on wheat bread rather then a bun and a salad. I was informed they were out of turkey burger, which meant I would have to order something else. I had asked if they were out or if they didn’t carry turkey anymore. The waitress looked at me as if I had asked her to solve a long form trigonometry equation. She went into the kitchen and behold, found turkey burger. All is right with the world! Not the case. Our appetizers come out. She drops off my salad. There is no dressing. She must be a relative of Houdini or something because she straight up disappeared. I sat with a bland diner salad before me with nothing to aid in making it palatable. About 15 minutes later she reemerged. Hooray! I finally get some dressing. I’d like to say not long after I received my main course but that would be false. It seems like an eternity passed before I did. She again magically vanished and I saw what I assumed was my food in the window. I sat watching it there for at least 5 minutes or longer and I many times resisted the urge to go get it myself. However there were other patrons there and I did not want to handle their food if it in fact was not mine. She finally brought it over. Guess what it was wrong. The one thing I asked for was wheat bread not a bun if you remember. Sure enough there was a bun atop my turkey burger. I asked for it to be corrected. It was brought back into the kitchen where they toasted some wheat bread. Something that should take a minute at best to correct. Well I was lucky that night because they must have really liked me. It seems that they fresh baked an entire loaf of wheat bread just for me! Well that has to be my assumption as it literally took no less the 10 minutes to put wheat bread on my burger. My friend was basically done her meal before I was even started. It wasn’t all negative. I was excited to meet what I presume is the most incompetent waitress in New England. So there was that! Next visit came last night. A friend and I are starving and Manchester doesn’t seem in the cards for us so I suck it up and we go to Milford. I walk in and whom do I see? Yes it is her, the most incompetent waitress in New England. Awesome… It takes her probably ten minutes to get around to us because there was one other table of two people there who’s order needed taking and we know she can’t do this in a speedy manner. She gets to us and I again request a turkey burger. Guess what??? They do not have turkey burger. I asked if this was because they were no longer carrying it or if they were just out? *** blink** blink, blink ***** she sat with a her bottom lip jutted out with the slightest hint of saliva forming on it as the question registered in her mind. Click there it was. The moment when it clicked in her mind what I just asked. You could literally see the exact second it hit that part of the brain where it could be computed. «I will go look» she disappeared into the bowels of the arrow to return minutes later with a reply of «we are out». While she was gone I anticipated this very moment. Learning from my prior experience I didn’t want to order anything that would throughly confuse her as that has proven to not be difficult in the past. I thought I will make this very easy. «I will have the same as her.» Yes I just ordered the same meal as my friend. 2 eggs over easy, bacon, and hash browns. Now the wait begins. I want to say it was at least 20 minutes before we got our food. Remember there was one other table there… Just one… My friend receives her meal. I am informed mine will be a bit longer. Remember we ordered literally the. Exact. Same. Thing… Close to five minutes later I receive mine. I can’t speak to the quality of the waitstaff/cooks during other shifts, but I can say the late shift is an absolute joke, but in the really not funny kind of way.

I’m a big fan of diners. The Red Arrow Diner scores points for it’s location and history, but not much else. - I ambled in here on a Saturday afternoon, around 2:00. I had spent the day working at the dog shelter, and needed lunch. This place wasn’t far away, and I’d heard about it before. I thought I’d give it a shot. - It was ok. - The place is located on this hard-to-park spot near the center of town. I lucked out and got a parking spot on the street just down a little way from the diner. I walked into the wrong door — there’s an «exit only» door with no handle — but I snuck in after some people were leaving. Tip: Walk down a few feet to the entry way! - It’s a quaint little local diner. It looks to me that the original building was in fact a diner car, which has since been added on to and expanded. They get points for keeping the diner car; to me, a «diner» is in fact a «diner» car which is still in use in some shape or form. There’s a small counter, and the rest of the seats are booths. There’s another room off to the side. - I sat at the booth. The place seemed… sad. I don’t know why. The atmosphere here was kind of a bummer. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and a coke. The waitress seemed unhappy too. - The sandwich was OK. It tasted good but I bit into a few unchewable bites of gristle/fat, which kills me. That ruined a good sandwich. The fries were greasy and soggy. I didn’t eat many of them. At least it was cheap — under $ 10 for lunch at a diner is a rarity these days. - I may go back and see if they can do better, but, maybe not.

Historically every time we come here, it’s been slow, but this morning takes the cake. There was hardly anyone there, but it felt like we waited forever for the waitress to come over and take our order. Then the wait for the food was ridiculous. Our waitress was not friendly at all, I don’t think she smiled once. That’s why I was surprised to hear she was part of management(tho she claims to not like being part of it). And the food was just ok. The Manchester location has always been great. Do they have different owners??

My wife and I ate breakfast here yesterday. The location was recommended by a local. The menu had many unique items. The food was excellent. The service was both good and entertaining. The ambiance is throw back to the 50’s. Had we searched Unilocal to discover the location, we would never have visited due to the three star rating. This location is at least four stars. I am giving it five in hope of raising the current three star rating.

Went to the Rad Arrow this weekend and it was absolutely awful experience !!! Does not compare to the Manchester location at all. We waited 50 mins after we ordered —for breakfast !!! My husband had to ask for a new coffee mug because the one they gave him was very dirty(mixed up with unwashed possibly?) it had something all over the side and had stuff floating in it —gross !!! The eggs were not over easy like we ordered and the pancakes were flat/undercooked !!! Will not be going back :/

This review is for catering from the Red Arrow Diner in Milford. I can’t say enough about how impressed I was with the experience. From the first phone call I made, Heather was extremely helpful and professional. When it was time for the event, she single-handedly drove over the food, set it up, and served our guests. It was a bridal shower and the food had to sit for a bit due to waiting for the bride, and it was still piping hot when it was time for everyone to eat(I was the last guest out of 45 to get served, and mine was still hot!) The portions were plentiful and everyone loved the food, especially the french toast and bacon that everyone said had a hint of maple! THANKYOU again Heather for helping us create a wonderful experience! I would highly recommend the Red Arrow for catering!

A friend and I drove from Boston to Milford just to eat here and I am glad we did! It was pretty easy to find and there was a parking lot around the back which was convenient. It is a small place so I am sure during busy hours there is a line, but I came on a Sunday evening and there was no wait. They have daily specials which range in price from $ 5.99−10 or so. I got the chicken croquettes with gravy and I have to say they were delicious and definitely home made and I wish I had more. We also started with the fried pickles… yummy hamburger steak(could have used some brown gravy) good cold salad plate was good Chili was yummy mac n cheese yummy baked beans yummy Dessert: Was probably the largest portion I have ever seen/received. I got coconut cream pie and the other got a chocolate layer cake. HUGE. Nothing we had was close to being bad. And lastly… I am sad that there is NOTHING like this around here.

Never again! Parking and traffic in downtown Milford was not a good start. Greeted by a waitress that seemed annoyed by our mere presence. Sat at a table and waited at least 10 minutes before the table was cleared. Numerous waitresses walked by without ever taking notice. Waited another 20 to have our order taken. Had to ask for a children’s menu since it was never offered to my friends son. Waited close to ½ hour for food to arrive. 1−½ hours at a diner for a quick lunch of OK food… Never again. My lunch date tells me that the women’s room was dirty, which makes me question the cleanliness of the kitchen. The staff at the Milford location needs to get some training from the Manchester location that is always exceptional!

Ah, insomnia, my arch-nemesis. After recently moving to Milford, and within a hair’s width away from«The Oval», my sleepless nights have been coddled and comforted by the glow of Red Arrow’s «open» sign. Red Arrow is touted as a relatively famous diner, and rightfully so– it’s been featured on Guy Fieri’s(ughhh) show, so it must be good, right?(Not that I trust Guy’s judgement, honestly…) I can’t say Red Arrow lives up to its hype, but it IS cozy and the food is pretty tasty. I’ll go out in a limb and say that their desserts are the best things on the menu. Seriously, their cream pies are just… oh God yes. So, while there may be better diner food out there, and while Guy Fieri is still a fat jackass(unrelated, but I had to say it), Red Arrow gets my seal of approval if only for the fact that it gives me a warm, friendly place to go when it’s 1am, my girlfriend is kicking me in her sleep, and I need to drown my frustrations in pie.
