I must say, this is the ultimate venue. We rented the two barns on the property for our 200 guests. Due to the cold weather the wedding was moved inside at the last minute. Talk about an accommodating group on individuals, this is the place. The venue is amazing, right down to the last decorating detail. The barns were heated, which were a plus. The staff, from Steven the coordinator, Tweeze the DJ, to Joe Schultheis the proprietor, one could never ask for more. If you don’t have a wedding coordinator, don’t bother hiring one for the venue, because the staff are top-notch, and have this down to a science. I just can’t say enough good things. Therefore, you need to experience it yourself.

Went to a wedding here for some family members. This place is beautiful and has an excellent backdrop for wedding photos. Clean, rustic, smells authentic and was really used as a working cow farm. Met the owner who was nice, friendly, and offered to show me around and give me a history lesson of the place which I loved. You can even rent the bottom of the barn for birthday parties, hay rides and sems like a little bbq you are good to go. Both of the barns are ornate and big enough to accompany 100 – 200 people easily, and a great dance floor that is setup perfectly.

Lazy J Ranch and their staff did an absolutely amazing job at my little brother’s wedding. They exceeded every expectation that the wedding party could possibly have. Steve went above and beyond to ensure that their entire wedding went as smoothly as possible and that the wedding party was taken care of the whole night; Steve’s customer service skills are unparralled. Lazy J Ranch, your efforts are very much appreciated and will not soon be forgotten. Thanks for all that you did in helping to make my brother and his bride’s wedding day that much more special. We hope to have the opportunity to use your services again in the future and I do not hesitate to recommend you to anyone planning a wedding there in the future… brides you will not be disappointed!!!

Attended a company square-dancing outing here. Nice place with lots of interesting history. What I didn’t enjoy was the owner’s homophobic and racial jabs while calling the square dancing. «If you find you are dancing with another guy, there’s something wrong with you», «Oh, looks like not all black people can dance». And I was not allowed to dance with my partner, he assigned me to a girl instead. Yikes.

We were looking for a rustic chic setting for our wedding which is really popular but can be hard to find or extremely expensive. We saw a link to the Lazy J Ranch but not much of a description or pictures. We set up an appoint with the owner«Joe» Immediately the we fell in love with the place. The grounds and building are beautiful. Walking in we had some idea about what we wanted, right off the bat Joe tells you the general cost of things, even saved of tons of money by suggesting great venders that work with him, not only did he say us a lot of money, buy the quality was second to none. Everyone he suggested could not have been easier and professional to work to work with.80% of of worries were taken care of working with the Lazy J. They take care of table setup, linens, their staff serves the food set up the ceremonial chairs, bar tend any booze you buy. They even cut up and prep bar items. All this bar tending is included in the price. Oh and his staff, Wow I’ve never met a more organized friendly crew that will do anything to make your day go right. 5 stars to them! Joe also will add on hay ride for not much more. I can’t tell you how much our guest enjoyed that, what a great idea, What a magical day. I can’t say enough for this place!, If you’re looking for a great place to have a your wedding, this is it 5 Stars Service.

MAKESUREYOUGET A CONTRACTOFRULESANDCOSTOFABSOLUTELYEVERYTHINGWAYBEFOREHAND!!! My sister ended her wedding night in tears!!! The property is beautiful and the owner seemed to be pleasant at first. My sister was given a quote for the cost of everything and goes to pay at the rehearsal and was quoted way a way lower price. She was expected to come up with a lot more money the day before her wedding day then was expected. This added alot of stress! We came to set up and have a mini rehearsal and the owner said lets not make this an all night event no ordering pizza and sticking around loitering. We already had plans for a rehearsal dinner at another venue! The next day when we arrive for the wedding the ceremony went well all went as best planned. I had confetti poppers for when they announced my sister into her reception which were taken from me. I was told that they were not allowed on the premises and they were hidden from me. I mean how dangerous is confetti? I let that one go. A guest brought a bubble machine which we were not allowed to use in the venue as well. The staff didnt seem to be happy working there. The flower girl was playing with her basket of pedals and they got irritated about it, come on shes 2! I just found out that when some people were still eating they came to one table asked the people to hold there plates and took the table away completely underneath them and told them find a seat at another table, leaving them holding there plate in shock. The DJ was told to cut the music while people were still dancing on the last song because it was exactly midnight. Some of the people from the wedding heard of the cost discrepancy but waited till the wedding reception was over to confront the owner and ask why the price difference. He got very defensive and then proceeded to tell my sister(THEBRIDE!!) that me and my family needed to get the f*** out and get all of her belongings, leaving her in tears she asked me to help her pack things up. I asked the owner that if things were not corrected if he would make it right he shook my hand to agree. If you ask me all of that is very unprofessional if you dont know how to deal with wedding parties dont do them! I am a hairstylist and i deal with a lot of brides and other people in the business that also deal with weddings. If you want referrals and you want good views on your facility you should have the most professionalism! I hope he will apologize to my sister and go over his math for the cost. Hopefully he will change some pricing on his website to make them more realistic. I know of someone using his venue in October and told them of our experiences with them. They are using caution and taking preventative measures with the owner(they havent sent invites yet) I am just suggesting everyone get a contract of rules and cost way prior to using the facility for your wedding day! There is never any reason the bride should end the happiest day of her life in tears!
