Howard Johnson Inn Tallahassee/Midway

Friendly staff. Quiet location. Overall appearance of hotel excellent for moderately priced facility. King size comfortable bed. Bathroom clean which included hair dryer and coffee maker. TV sufficient with good cable connection. Breakfast included juice, yogurt, waffles, biscuits & gravy, cereal, coffee.

Well after reding the couple of reviews on here, I was expecting a dump. Truth is I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean as, the bed was comfy, the wifi fast, the shower big & clean, not a roach in sight. So for the $ 75 fee & an overnight stay. It was pretty good!

Most of my reviews are Hotels (not motels), but I can easily reside in a Motel without any concerns (but prefer Hotel). Needed a quick stay to support a early (early) morning appointment up US90 from the Motel.
HOUSEKEEPING: Non existent! Room was filthy (RM 212). Hairs in the shower, in the sink, and the telephone was filthy dirty with long hairs all over it.
BED: The most uncomfortable bed I have slept on in a long while (and I have slept on mattresses onboard Naval ships… those were better). Pillows are small squares and are just as uncomfortable.
BREAKFAST: Bare minimum.
Yes, the $ 60 price was very resonable — and I did not expect 5-​star for $ 60 bucks… but, for any amount of money paid, you expect the room to be clean and a comfortable bed. I have many many return trips to the US90 area upcoming — and I will definately give the Comfort Inn and BW a try, before even considering returning to this HJ property.

Not bad. Considering i didnt pay for it. It was clean. Shower could always be a little cleaner. AC kicks ass! And they allow dogs. Convenience to I10 is great too.

I suppose the price isn’t too bad. But there was a cockroach on the wall as soon as I settled into bed. That itchy, buggy feeling remained with me for the entire night.
One lonely star for the continental «Belgian waffle» breakfast. Somehow, my orange juice came out of the tap slightly carbonated/​fermented. Cereal choices range from corn flakes to frosted flakes… And that’s pretty much it. At least the milk wasn’t sour.
