Groovy Nails

I prefer Kyle for doing my nails, as he seems to be the most concerned with quality, however, most of the people there are quite good. When I first started going there, about 6 yrs ago, they weren’t nearly as busy as they are now. I had to find somewhere else, no where else has proven to be as good. The prices are reasonable for what you get, and the people there are pleasant. I would definitely recommend Groovy Nails to a friend!

I went to Groovy Nails with a friend 2 weeks ago. I got a manicure, pedicure and my eye brows waxed. I did the gel nails on my hands and toes for the 1^st time and I love them. After 2 weeks they still look perfect. I will be back for sure!

They are nice people. It was okay to walk in for pedi. Services were okay. I didn’t think it was super great honestly. They got better places in sugar house for same price and more options.

I had a great experience here. The guy that did my nails was very friendly and seemed to care about making them exactly how I wanted. I will be returning! Took about an hour which seemed a little longer then usual but was well worth it for the results. The drills make me so nervous because I’ve been cut in the past but he was pretty careful and thankfully no issues. So I’ll take a few extra minutes over damaged cuticles any day! Gorgeous results. Thank you!

Kyle is awesome he was able to do a Mani/​Pedi in the same time it took for a pedicure. My sister and I were in and out. We loved how sanitary they were! We will be back

This was a terrible manicure. I’m not sure which lady did my nails, but I was simply not happy — which says a lot because I’m easy to please. I’ve been searching for a new salon after relocating. This was my second place to try. I felt like when she asked me questions about my preferences she was either not listening or didn’t understand. She’d keep shaping and reshaping or over filing (nicking more than one cuticle bed). I ultimately opted for shellac only because she had taken so darn long (an hour and a half) to do my manicure and it would likely dry more quickly. It’s been close to a month since I was there and the nails have lasted well, but… i hate the shape and thickness of the nails. Again, she simply wasn’t hearing the answers I gave when she asked me questions. I’m hoping the next place I try will be my new mani-​home.

Ok, my first time there I was unimpressed. I made an appointment for 4PM specifically so that I would not have to wait in line. I arrived at 3:45PM and was not seen until almost 4:45PM. The other patrons waiting were walk-​ins (I asked) but were still seen before my appointment was honoured. They did a good job but the man who did my nails rushed me and tried guilting me because he had a regular waiting during the last 15 minutes of doing my nails (I asked him to reshape them because they were bulbous and I couldn’t see that until he released my finished first hand.
The second time I went I went at 11:30AM without an appointment. I went back because they weren’t terrible and they are across the street from my job. The woman was amazing. I feel like I shouldn’t need to say more about her awesomeness but we all like detailed reviews. She got my gel nails off and a coat of Shellac on in under 50 minutes so I could get back to work on time. This is something I have had done a few times over the years and normally the minimal time I am in a salon is 1.5 hours. As I said — she was amazing.
Sadly I lost the card his name was on and I had to ask her to repeat herself twice and still couldn’t understand so instead I will describe their stations. He sat in the first chair when you walk in the door next to the stairs/​wall with the TV. Her station was the one right next to the pillar. So if you are facing the TV Wall directly she is the furthest on the right.

No. No. No. No!!! I had an appointment at 515 and they didn’t get me started until 530. No big deal. Until they decide to remove all my nails because ONE was lifted in the corner. The technician failed to drill them down and instead decided to pull then off using only a nail tip. He completely destroyed my natural nails, and this method takes the longest. I guess they were too cheap to afford the small amount of electricity it takes to run the drill, or to use a couple tablespoons of acetone. I told him I was in a hurry and did not have the time to get my nails redone. He proceeded to do then anyway knowing my time restraint. Thinking I may still be able to make my appointment, and how god awful my natural nails looked i didn’t try to stop him like I should have. He proceeded to put the gel on at the point I had ten minutes till I had to leave. It was not the color I selected. I choose a white with glitter in it. This was an obvious baby blue color. I told him and he insisted it was the color. I know what I chose, and that was not it. My nails are in serious pain. Not to mention I was 20 minutes s later than I told him. The whole process took dang near two hours. Normally it takes an hour at the most. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Groovy nails is an excellent shop. Kyle does my nails and they are always amazing! The other nail techs are wonderful as well. They always greet you when you walk in. As well as being extremely accommodating. There was a time I was in the hospital for a few months not one nail lifted. I promise if you try them you will agree!

Best set of nails I have had in a long time! Some places pile on acrylic and leave them thick and bulky, but these guys did them perfect in my opinion. I went in for a fill after having my original set at some other place. She cleaned up the messy work of the last job and did a beautiful job. She even got all of the excess acrylic left underneath my nails from previous set. I hate having chunks of acrylic under my nails! I’m so happy with my new set!
The place itself is nice and clean inside. And I didn’t have to wait long before being seen. They had a very good selection of colors also! I will definitely be back!

Walked in on a Wednesday around 4:50, and all the technicians were busy, but with no one in front of me, I decided to stay. Then 1…2…3 more people walked in and there was a steady increase as time went on. I wanted a pedicure, shellac removal and a shellac manicure. Because I was doing a pedicure they popped me on the spa massage chair (chair itself was not great) and let me soak… and soak… and soak… until the water was cold. I asked for more hot water and they turned the faucet on for a bit. After 15 seconds or so, I feel that the water stream was cool, making the water colder. It never did get warmed up, so it just made me chilled the rest of the night. If they’re going to make me soak for 45 minutes so they can get other customers through, they had better make sure I’m nice and comfy. I walked out of the shop at 7:30, so the entire mani/​pedi took almost 2hrs.
My technician did a nice job on my actual nails. She made sure I liked the color, took the time to start over one nail when it got a tiny fleck stuck on it, and asked if I wanted another coat (which I did) before finishing. The treatments were very basic– no scrubs, wax, etc. The «massage» was really just a lotion application. But the price was lower than I’ve seen elsewhere too, so maybe that’s the trade off.
The facility was clean, a typical walk-​in salon. I was especially appreciative that the programs playing on the tv were appropriate for all ages. I frequently take my daughters (7 & 9) with me for a treat and don’t like when grown up shows are on.

Wow what an incredible experience! Kyle did my nails and I highly recommend that you ask for him if you go. My nails have been in much need of some TLC and I decided to get tips this time (I usually just do shellac). I told him that I like my tips to look as natural as possible. So, slightly rounded, thin, and on the short side. I showed him a picture of a color I liked and he helped me match it.
He was absolutely incredible! He took his time and made my nails look exactly how I wanted them. See picture!

Very nice people who attempt to do everything they can to make you comfortable. I had an appointment and got here early but due to walk-​ins and Saturday it ran late. They recommend weekdays if possible to avoid the tardiness.
Either way it was a great experience, relaxing and I walked away with new polish and soft feet.

I went to groovy nails since it was so highly rated and had ward great things. Although the staff was kind, my gel nails were NOT done well. The edges were messy and it didn’t cover the ends of my nail either. I know I am pretty picky about my gel nails since I usually paint my own nails but it was subpar at best and when I went back in to show them, they said that was just how gel nails look and if I wanted them perfect I would have to pay for a manicure. Time to find a new nail salon I guess.

First time here and I really liked it. Trinity did my pedicure and was polite and professional. She made conversation, not forced, which is great to me. My sister in law and nephew came with me and we were greeted with a warm welcome, even though I know some people do not like kids in this kind if establishment. I would definitely come back.

Employees are friendly. Prices are a little high for what I’m used to but I expected that in Utah. Good quality services. There my go-​to place for my pedicures.

I first tried out Groovy Nails for a pedicure maybe a year ago, but have not been back since. Today after having no luck painting my nails or pushing back my cuticles to my satisfaction, I decided at pretty much the time when every nail salon is closed that I needed to visit one.
After calling a bunch of salons a bit closer to my home than Groovy Nails, I finally called them and was happy to find out they stayed open a little later than the other salons and could fit me in for a manicure.
Two weeks ago I had a horrible experience with another nail salon, but I had had a good experience here before and was happy to give them my business. My nail technician (I believe her name is spelled Loan) was very gentle on my cuticles and especially around the area that had been damaged during my last manicure. She even asked me what had happened, and I explained I’d been cut two weeks ago during my manicure.
My manicure was not rushed, even though I was cutting it close to their closing time. I also really liked that she used a UV lamp to dry my nails rather than just a small fan. She was also great in answering my questions regarding the best type of base and top coat to wear; she’d noticed my nails had been stained by the polish I’d put on the night before – even though I’d used the Ulta base coat and top coat.
Unlike my last manicurist, she asked me the shape I would like my nails filed; I’d noticed that my nails didn’t look very even and some of them didn’t really have a shape. I was very happy with how they looked after she filed them.
I felt I got a great manicure for only $ 13.50 (they charge a .50 fee for card transactions). I will definitely be returning here in a few weeks for my next manicure, and will be asking for Loan again specifically.
