We love coming here, the shoe string fries, burgers(with some amazing pickles), and of course the custard– I prefer the vanilla! We like to go a lot mostly for their amazing Concrete mixes! They make great ice cream cakes too!

I hate when you try something new and it doesn’t pan out. Those paper thin burgers, those skinny fries, that vanilla shake with a microscopic swirl of cookie butter… they just weren’t for me. The whole time I was eating, I was thinking, «I could have eaten at the TACOSTAND [oh, how I love the taco stand]…and paid HALFASMUCH!» The restaurant was clean and the service was friendly, but honestly those were the best things about my experience. Not impressed and never to return.

The meat was super thin. We also ordered two combo meals and we had a coupon for one free cone when you buy a combo meal. The manager said it was only good for one person. We understood the coupon to mean one free cone per combo meal. Pretty dissatisfied customer. Katy D.

Wow where do I start? First the fries, gel ready shoestring fries… Second, the«burger». What is the reason behind smashing it down so that it is thinner than my napkin? I dislike Burger King but even they are better than you… First visit and last… Don’t waste your money here if you want a burger…

If the place wasn’t so dirty I would be beating my head against the table. WHY… WHY can’t it be clean? I know people are slobs but this is more than a rush hour mess. The drink station is NASTY. The ketchup/fry sauce station makes me cringe. The worker on his break sitting in the dining room meticulously licking every finger from top to bottom made me want to run.(I’m hoping he washed his hands before he returned to the line but still… ick!) Geez, I sound like an impossible grouch but just have someone do a lobby check on the hour… please?! The food was great but if I have to wear blinders to enjoy it, forget it.

I came here expecting greatness as it was recommended by a friend. I ordered a single burger and mini Oreo shake through the drive through as I was in a hurry. Apparently all you get on a single is mustard, onions and pickles. I chose to go sans cheese which made for a dry burger. Not only is their food overpriced, they also charged me for a combo which I did not receive but given the confusing pricing on the menu wasn’t too concerned about the cost until I had my food in hand two miles down the road in the parking lot of my next stop. Unless someone can convince me otherwise, this will be my last stop here.

Found Freddy’s in Arizona. Didn’t particularly care for the Chuck steak burgers. Tried it here in Utah and same result. Chuck steak is just not that good. Sorry. Custard is ok.

I went in for the first time and asked what was good. The service was excellent and the food they delivered was, I would say, better than In n Out but not quite Five Guys or Habit. Similar to smashburger or Culver’s. The«steakburger» is still ground beef, easy to chew and swallow. They grill them thin so there’s lots of savory crispness to the patties. Greasy but super tasty. The fries are shoestring style and the free seasoning and fry sauce were great for me– warm, flavorful, tasty. The sundae was the hawaiian which I don’t think I’d order again just because the macadamia nuts really don’t mesh well with frozen custard(one bite dry soft nut, the next freezing cold hard cream). I’ll probably try a shake instead unless I’m in the mood for chocolate. Clean dining area and bathrooms, fun 50s décor.

For a place known for custard, the vanilla custard and chocolate custard was alright, was really nothing to write home about expensive for mediocre custard, HOWEVER the butterscotch topping was AMAZING ! Service was great and speedy. I dig the trendy 50s all American theme. I’m not sure if this is the place to write this, but just a heads up for the management since this establishment is fairly new — I went in to wash my hands and there was an slight sewage odor. Paper towels dispenser was empty and no hand dryer available as an alternative.

There I was driving through the area hungry and noticing quite a few new places that I hadn’t seen before. Around another restaurant I saw Freddy’s and knew that was what I thought I needed. We made some turns, got into the drive-thru, and then looked over the menu. The menu is that of a typical burger joint. Burgers in various ways, some with double patties, some with bacon, a token chicken burger, and a few other small things. The bacon burger stood out, so I went with that in a combo, as well as a PBC+something shake. Food came quick and we were on our way. The burger was actually really good. Perfectly cooked, and I absolutely loved the sliced pickles on it. These weren’t thick pickles, they were thinly sliced long pickles. I found the overall taste of the burger to be really good. Better than most other faster places that fall in this category of fast food but better quality/higher priced than Wendy’s, McDonalds, etc. The shake was unfortunate. It had a great flavor, involving peanut butter cups and bananas. It had every right to be a good shake, but the thing was just really, really watery. As watery as a shake that you leave out for a couple hours, this thing was more drink than anything else. It was disappointing because the taste was actually fantastic, but it was frustrating to only be able to drink tiny spoonfuls of it at a time. I threw it in the freezer when I got home, I’ll check on it later today. It had so much potential, but no one wants a cold drink when they asked for a shake. The fries were another swing and a miss. They were my favorite style, shoestring, nice and thin. The perfect size to deliver their fry sauce and ranch to my mouth with. The only problem was that they were cold and mushy. Not the texture you want with fries. The fry sauce and ranch were both good, though not good enough to mask the disappointing fries. Overall a place that has potential, but well earning of it’s current 3-stars.

Just paid $ 8.00 for a frozen custard that tasted like a cross between a Wendy’s frosty and a Dairy Queen blizzard. What? Way too overpriced in my opinion.

I really like this place. The burgers are always cooked perfectly and have a great flavor. With that said, the pattys are really thin, so although I would usually never go more than a double at most burger places, I always go with a triple burger here. A lot of good toppings to choose from too: grilled onions and jalepenos are two of my favs. As with the pattys, the bacon is on the thin side too — don’t expect the bacon you get at the local burger establishments(Crown, Appollo, etc.). But all in all, a very welcome addition to SLC’s burger scene.

Holy cow, this place is busy but man do they know how to take your order and get your food out to you right away. The burgers were good(I still prefer Five Guys but would take Freddy’s over In & Out any day of the week) and the string fries were fantastic. The malt shake should have just been called shake because there was no malt in either my wife or mine shake. It was nice to try out a new business and see what they were all about. I would definitely be back if I’m in the area again around lunch or dinner.

Really great food. Burger was a little overcooked which made it a little dry, but usually it is perfect. The steak burgers are unlike any burger you can find anywhere else. Such tasty delicious beef. Tasty toppings. Great service and clean restaurant. I recommend anyone try this place. You won’t be disappointed. If the burger is a little dry, add some of their signature fry sauce. That worked great for me.

Alright! Two visits now inside a month. I’m pretty happy. First, logistics. This staff has it down, mostly. Order taking is non-rushed, thorough. ‘The read back’. The food is really nice. Pressed burger patties, lots of sear flavors. Great toppings. Nice bacon, huge pickles. Varieties are lacking but the basics are solid. The fries are shoestring and tasty. Custard options are strong. A little bit on the pricy side. Two eat with a full meal and custard instead of soda for $ 25.

Everything you want in an awesome burger joint. I flattened out — crispy edged, perfectly juicy and meaty burgers are crave worthy. Just the right amount of toppings to enhance the star of the show — The steak patties. Fries are shoe string… Awesomely crispy and seasoned. The custard is thick and rich, and the shakes are exactly that. Actual shakes… You know the kind you drink from a giant straw.

Bad reviews, are you kidding me! Evidently y’all don’t know good taste, and you only like«Utah» burgers! Live a little people, this place was fabulous, but then if you haven’t lived outside Utah you wouldn’t know! Burger was fabulous, fries were great and my husband loved his shake! They remind me of some of burger places they have in parts of the south! EXCELLENT food — nothing like it!

If you want to get fleeced, come on down to Freddy’s. Overpriced average tasting burgers and shakes/concretes. Go across the street and save a few dollars.

I know it’s a chain so my expectations weren’t that high but still Fabulous Freddy’s, meh no so much, more like Alright Al’s. I like the crunchiness of a super flattened burger patty but that’s about it. Please stack like four of them to make the burger feel satisfying. I’m not a big fan of thin fries but they should still be crispy and not soggy. I asked for a chocolate mint shake and instead got a vanilla soft serve custard with chocolate sauce on top that I was charged extra for. And it was my order since they brought it to my table and said«here is your shake.» I think they knew it was wrong since they put it out and then they took it back for a few minutes. Silly me thinking they were remaking it but no. If you like this style of burger and custard combo, you’re better off hitting that other custard joint, you get better custard and more options like fried cheese curds.
