Sullivan’s Irish Pub & Eatery

I’ve been here few times before and there hasn’t been a problem until last night. It took over an hour for our appetizer and then when it came… it was burnt!!! They removed it from our bill, which they should! But our friends showed up and we all ordered at the same time and STILL we had to wait 40min for our meal while THEY received there’s nearly immediately! We sat at a booth… We went to watch the Hawks and no we didn’t rub anyone’s feathers to be treated like that!!! Won’t eat there again!!! I might get my food the following day!!!

I just wanted to say how disappointed I am that Boxty’s are no longer on the menu. It was the best dish by far. I do love the outside patio however, the 2 stars is due to two reasons: first, there are never enough to bartenders or servers. Never. Not at any time of day… It’s weird actually how consistently terrible the service is. And the second reason is due to their extensive menu that, without the boxty, is all mediocre at best and mainly crap.

Tonight was the second time I have been to this restaurant and once again the service sucked. You shouldn’t have to ask to get water or your drink three times before you get it. Tonight I ordered fried chicken with mashed potatoes and the server brings it out and it is obviously fish with roasted potatoes. She commented that they had the wrong potatoes and I told her this was not broasted chicken and she insisted it was. It’s pretty sad when the waitress does not know the difference between fish and broasted chicken.
The food at this place is good enough but they need to get servers who know how to provide good service. It gets old really quick when you have to keep asking for the same item over and over when the place is not even busy.

I am highly disappointed in the lack of customer service this establishment has. One of my kid’s classmates lost her phone there and they are unwillingly to help them locate it. They even had the nerve to tell them that they would be charged to get a booth pulled out… is this really how you treat your customers. I will never spend my money in this business and will also tell my family and friends not to as well. I hope the parents of this child goes to the police. They are also not giving any information for a contact person (manager/​owner). This is unacceptable customer service. I would hate for someone to have dropped an inhaler or other important meds. would they be treated the same way or are they just doing this because she is a teen. if you can’t pull put a booth for a customer. Then how are you cleaning your dining area. And you only received one star cause I couldn’t continue with none.

Wonderful staff and great prices! My friends and I started going here last winter because it was a convenient location to where we all work. We now go every Friday because we feel like family when we walk in! The owner is fabulous and really aims to make personal connections and provide great service. Drinks and great and food is good, too!

Three tables in entire place had guest including ours. Waitress extremely friendly. After 35 minutes waiting for 16 pc. Wings waitress told us kitchen was backed up… WHAAAA? Three tables. Maybe backed up with water. Asked for staging between appetizer and meal, no problem I was told, well 10 mins. After wings arrived guess what? meal right behind, all of a sudden kitchen caught up. Wings were great, HOT right out of deep fryer. Had a Rubin and two steak sandwiches, pretty good and tender. Good fries and slaw. Their soda system needs an over haul diet tasted sour and almost berryish very flat HORRIBLE soft drinks. Wait was way too long would maybe go back. Reasonable prices great atmosphere.

Wow been here several times before corn beef and cabbage outstnding now 5:00 @ night they are out of it and waitress said last few times she worked they were out. Their specialty and they are out and have been several times this week. Probably won’t be back or at best will have to call ahead. Really bummed if not for expiring Groupon would have left.

I always wanted to eat here. I have only been here a handful of times at the bar and beer garden which is real nice. My neighbor’s son worked their and they would order pizza and other food which was rather tasty. The positives: beautiful décor on the inside. Very nice as well as clean. They also had a descent beer selection on tap. The food was tasty and came out in a timely manner. I got the perch dinner and my girlfriend got a cheese burger with onion rings. The negatives: When I asked the waitress if they had a beer menu she said that it was on the back of the menu which was outdated (December) but if I wanted to I could walk up to the bar to see what they had on tap. Another waitress came around when ours disappeared and I asked her the same question to which she flipped over the menu and showed me the beer listings on tap to which she informed me it was outdated and told me what they no longer had which was fine but didn’t tell me what they had now to replace the ones no longer on tap. I originally ordered the cod dinner and 15 – 20 minutes later the waitress came back to tell me they were out of cod. My girlfriend attempted to get mustard out of a bottle but it is was literally petrified and she couldn’t get any of it out. I’m pretty sure this is the same bottle of mustard they had when this place originally opened. The waitress gave my girlfriend a new bottle of mustard and instead of throwing out the other bottle she put it back in the corner where they have condiments, napkins, and silverware. The service was not up to par. I really want this place to do well but hope the service doesn’t drag it down.

Sullivan’s turned out to be a better experience than I expected. The space is nicely decorated and has an antique and Irish feel with plenty of beer branded mirrors and signs.
There was always someone at the host station just inside the front door. There is also additional parking in the rear of the building with a separate entrance but there should normally be parking in front with exception to a popular weekend concert on their large and well lit stage.
Service was great. Our waitress was full of smiles and visited frequently. Attention paid to drink refills and to-​go containers for uneaten food.
The best thing we ordered was the Irishman Burger. A rather typical burger with the addition of a medium fried egg (or request it hard fried) and served on a pretzel bun. Full of flavor and some real depth in the taste. I upgraded the fries to giant onion rings for just $ 1 although the onion rings arrived a full ten minutes after the burger.
The other dish we ordered was one of Sullivan’s signature Boxty’s. They offer many varieties from skillet grilled vegetables, chicken and spinach, to ribeye steak all wrapped in a thin potato pancake and covered in a complimenting sauce and garnishments. The vegetable Boxty was perfectly cooked and refreshing in a world of greasy and heavy food options. All for just $ 8.95.
The list of bottled and draft beers was extensive. Seems a healthy list for fans of Irish and UK beers.
The area with the most opportunity in the restaurant were the rest rooms. The men’s room was a bit aged and dirty. And there was no paper towel dispenser along with the mirror being held up with yellow duct tape.
We will not hesitate to return here and look forward to even coming back for a concert to check out a different arrangement.

Not a good experience. My girlfriend order hamburger well done. She got a hamburger medium well. I ordered a steak sandwich. It was good but was cold. Then they wanted to change me a dollar more than the price on the menu. Not good at all.

We were going to Bella Mia next door but they’re closed on Monday. I had the Toasted Ravioli and baked potato soup and my husband had the fish and chips. We were both sick on Tuesday. The service was also very poor. I would not recommend and I would not return.

Everything is okay.
I went there for drinks with a friend and paid $ 5 cover. There was a very loud band inside, so we decided to have our drinks on the patio, where there was a loud DJ. The drinks were fine, not great and not bad. There wasn’t a place to go to get a break from the noise.
Another time, I went there for dinner. The server wasn’t friendly, but she wasn’t rude either. The food was okay, but nothing special. The buffalo chicken wrap was chicken, lettuce and buffalo sauce and came with unsalted fries. The server just left the bill on the table, so I went up front to pay and the server came running at us to take the bill herself. We went back to our table, and it took the server close to 10 minutes to return with my change.
It’s an okay place to check out if you have the time and the location is convenient. Not worth going out of your way.

Way to loud inside with band. Decided to go in outdoor patio and the DJ was just as loud. Disappointed they had a $ 5 cover when barely 25 people in the whole place. Don’t think I would go back.

A very cool looking bar and pub. The waitstaff was courteous and well trained and the pub is an excellent place to catch any game. Not much else to say to recommend this place if you are in the area. Those young folks into drinking in the area I am sure know of this place.

Came here last night before going to Mid Oak Distillery. The bar comfort food was very good. I personally had the Reuben sandwich and a nice pint of Guinness. I will definitely come back. The hostess and waiter were both very friendly and made us feel at home. Next time we are in Midlothian this will be a definite consideration for lunch or dinner.

Met a few friends for drinks on a Friday — early, around 6:30. The place is really nice inside — lots of wood, big space, clean. Service was good — started off at the bar with a Cosmo, which was made right.
Moved to a table when others arrived and had a great waitress. A few more martinis and then we headed to our next destination.
This review is only for drinks and atmosphere. I looked over the menu, and nothing jumped out at me. I also looked over their band schedule and will be back to check that out. Not sure what the crowd will be like when it is croweded.
