Where to even start this guy is so amazing I wish I could give him 6 stars he went above and beyond any of my expectations. My only regret is not finding him sooner. Thank you again for the radio install I WILL be back again.

Robert installed my car starter last year. After lots of research I narrowed it down to Robert because of reviews, and All-​guard because they had 40yrs experience. After speaking with both guys Robert was clearly the best choice. He listened to what I wanted gave his advice on a model he thought would best suit me instead of trying to get me on a waiting list ASAP for the latest greatest smartphone model that he has a store full of.
Roberts price was better, he got the work done faster, and at pick up gave my husband a discount for being a fireman. Talented man very knowledgeable and seems to enjoy what he does.
I’m more than ready for another Chicago winter! Thanks Robert.

Robert installed an aftermarket Pioneer DEH-​X6700BT am/​fm cd audio receiver with bluetooth unit in both my BMW’s. He works out of a heated garage behind his home. I feel that his pricing is reasonable compared to competitors, and his workmanship/​service are outstanding.
Robert was also very helpful in providing recommendations for purchasing this Pioneer bluetooth audio receiver unit and required cables for both vehicles. He emailed all the needed items to me so that I could easily order online. I highly recommend Robert for any car audio installation needs.

Sorry for the delayed review. Back in December, I needed to have a remote starter installed on my Subaru Forester. I found Robert from a review of another shop in Chicago on Unilocal.Robert was very helpful with figuring out what would be the best option. His pricing was reasonable but his service was impeccable. I found one shop closer to my house that was a little cheaper, but they had many bad reviews. It was well worth the drive to the south suburbs for the quality of the Robert’s service.

Really couldn’t be much happier with Robert’s work, except if he were closer to home. I called him before ordering parts and he spent a while on the phone talking me through it, and had no problem at all with me ordering parts myself, which saved me a bit of money. He was super flexible with scheduling, arranging to meet me the day after I got the parts. We met and he was a fount of knowledge about car stuff, not just the work I was having done, and he chatted with me about various winter concerns despite (and because of) the 25-​degree chill. He took the time he said he would, although he had wanted a buffer in the scheduling to make sure I wasn’t late for things after my car work. He’s not cheap, but he seemed to be right on par for independent shops, and way cheaper than Best Buy, which basically charges a name brand and convenience markup. His price seems fair and he was very up front about it. And last, but obvi not least, the equipment he set up works, and my car didn’t look banged up or anything after the work. It also lasted. And Robert explained it to me enough that I was able to get it working again when there was an issue after jumping the car, or that sort of thing.

I have a 2006 Mercedes S500 that needed an IPOD/​USB/​AUX install and heard good things about Robert. I decided to go with him based solely on a recommendation from another board member from my mercedes forum. It turns out that Robert was better than I expected. I dropped off my car at his place at 8am and he had it done with 12 noon. The install was neat and clean. He was very careful with my interior dis-​assembly and reassembly. Really great job and good guy. Thanks Rob!

I chose to use Robert’s services based on Unilocal reviews. I do most all of my own mechanical /​engine work on my Saab 9 – 5, but most of the stereo installation stuff is just beyond my capabilities. I did a couple of minor installation things prior to visiting Robert, but at his suggestion, I didn’t take anything else apart. I had a laundry list of things to install, an XM module, HD module, microphone, steering wheel controls & a traffic tuner, so it was a lot to install. Thanks for Robert’s years of experience, he makes the installation look easy, but I know it’s not. My installation went flawlessly at a reasonable price. Robert even offered to help me out when we discovered that the Enfig harness that I had arrived with turned out to be defective and I had originally showed up with the incorrect antenna, «Y» adapter. I highly recommend using Robert to install your aftermarket stereo because it’s going to get done the right way the first time. If you’re going to take a laundry list of parts out to him, I would recommend emailing photos of all of your items to make sure you have all of the right items.

I don’t usually write reviews unless I feel strongly about something. Rob is first and foremost, professional. Second he is attentive and most importantly, he is very careful when disassembling parts in your car in order to install the new components. He works very orderly, and accounts for each bolt, bulb, and screw that has to be removed and reinstalled.
He did not have a problem letting me help, and his knowledge of HIDs was very good. Very easy going guy who is confident in what he is doing. I would refer him to anyone needing/​wanting HID lights on their car.
He charged me a good rate too!

Rob installed a DVD player in our SUV a few months back and he was professional, quick and efficient. His work was superior and among the best! We searched several places and read many reviews but settled in on Robert because he was knowledgeable about the work we were needing done and he guaranteed his install – which I have found that most people don’t guarantee.
Rob also took time out to answer all of the questions we had and recommended a great place to purchase our DVD from.
We will definitely use Rob in the future and would recommend him rather than going to any shop!

Rob is a solid guy. I recently had him install a Bluetooth Stereo and powered subwoofer in my Subaru Outback. I didn’t have anywhere to go during the install so I sat in the passenger seat and observed. He was quick, neat, thorough and professional. He had my stereo bumping in just over half of the time he estimated it would take. It’s a little bit of a hike getting down there from the city, but that just means you’ll be able to enjoy your new sound system a little longer on the drive home. Very reasonably priced too. I would recommend him to anyone.

Took my stepmother’s Lexus to Robert to get an XM interface and auxiliary input installed on the factory stereo. Overall, a great experience for several reasons.
First, he was much cheaper than the dealership’s quote to install the same modules while still offering great service. (He honored his quote and beat his quoted time.) Second, he was great about quickly replying to phone calls and e-​mails. Third, in these conversations, he was happy to offer advice about the best way to go. Most importantly, the installation was quick and clean and the (small) XM antenna is the only thing that doesn’t look completely factory standard.
Finally, when I told him that I was thinking of going the Crutchfield route for my own new car stereo and installing myself, he talked with me about it for a few minutes, reviewed some head units with me, and told me to be in touch with any questions I had – all for something I wouldn’t be paying him for.
All in all, he does great work for a better-​than-​fair price with friendly service that goes above and beyond. Sorry to gush but I was very impressed. Highly recommended!

After Soundz Good tried to rip me off on the installation of a plug-​and-​play navigation lock bypass device for my Lexus SUV (Lexus won’t let the driver or passenger use the navigation menu when the car is in motion, which is incredibly annoying), I did a Unilocal search and found a ton of great reviews for Robert.
I called him at 9:30 in the morning and left him a message. 10 minutes later he returned my call. Much to my surprise, he had an opening for the same day. 15 minutes later, I drove to his garage and an hour later, my car was ready to go.
The best thing about Robert is that he is a nice guy. He literally did the install while I entertained my 17-​month-​old son in the back seat. And his price was terrific — literally ¹⁄₅^th of what Soundz Good quoted me. The quality of his work is great, his professionalism was top notch and I suspect that his prices are among the best in the area.
He is the exactly the kind of small businessperson that Unilocalers should be patronizing.

Just had a JVC head unit installed in my 2005 Saturn Vue last night. I had no idea what kind of unit I wanted to purchase. Robert assisted me with finding out which unit was best for me based on what I was looking for and what would fit my vehicle. He was very nice and setting up an appointment was easy. He installed the unit in about 30 minutes, bluetooth microphone and everything. He also showed me how to connect my phone to the hands free audio and streaming media. He said I could call him anytime with questions. He also takes credit cards which was great! I was emailed a receipt the next day. The only pain was going to the South side to get it installed. I would recommend anyone thinking about getting a new audio system to contact Robert!

Rob is great. He installed an auto-​start in my truck and everything works perfectly. His prices are very reasonable and he goes above and beyond on the customer services. He explained everything and saw me on short notice. He get top-​notch marks for being prompt and professional.

When one of the components went out on the awful factory audio system on my BMW, I decided to replace EVERYTHING. I didn’t want to go to a retailer/​installer and buy only the brands they pushed; instead I researched and cherry-​picked components to get the best sound quality for my budget.
That’s where Robert came in. As I was buying all the parts, he was very patient with me and made recommendations as to what would work well and what would not. His expertise in the field was extremely valuable when figuring out speaker loads, wattage, fit, sound dampening, etc. When I finally had everything, he got the whole system installed in one day (altho a very long day for him) so I would be without my car for only a day.
Now the system sounds great! I would highly recommend Robert over a retailer/​installer. He doesn’t have to push any brand equipment. Instead he cares about sound quality, professional fit and finish, and his clients’ needs. Thanks Robert for your professionalism, patience, and concern!

1 star for meeting up with me on literally 2 hours notice after I had already made an appointment later in the week.
Another star for being professional and returning phone calls in a timely manner.
Another star for his wealth of knowledge regarding stereo systems; he knew my model (both car and aftermarket stereo) and whether or not it would fit with the stock bezel within about five minutes of talking to him on the phone.
Another stars for his swiftness. If it wasn’t for the fact that I walked down to Church’s for some jalapeño poppers, he’d have been done in less than forty minutes.
Another star for the price. Don’t know of anybody who could have done it cheaper. Definitely NOT Best Buy.

Sure, Robert is competent, professional, and inexpensive. Especially so, for that matter. I, though, consider those as prerequisites for a professional in a service-​based industry.
But here is why Robert is a total outlier-​he possesses conviction and a sense of humanity in the way he conducts his business. Find THAT at Best Buy.
I called for a simple quote on a simple stereo installation, and he spoke with me for close to thirty minutes with no commitment whatsoever to an appointment. His demeanor was low-​key, warm, but totally confident. Not once did I feel like I was a) bothering him, or b) dealing with a hack. It was immediately apparent that he was incredibly experienced, and genuinely concerned with providing me with answers to my (presumably very rookie) questions.
After realizing that I was in no way capable of doing the installation on my own, I set an appointment with him.
His service was nothing less than thorough. He is exhaustively detail-​oriented. I’m talking like setting-​my-​clock-​in-​perfect-​sync-​with-​his-​cell-​phone-​custom-​tailoring-​every-​setting-​on-​my-​deck detail-​oriented. Did I mention he was ridiculously easy to work with and totally relatable and warm? Yeah, that too.
So please, if you’re considering going to a business that just wants to throw you and your concerns into a queue and then overcharge you to address them, just call Robert instead. He will not only give you world-​class service, but he will do it while (somehow simultaneously) restoring your faith in humanity.

I bought a stereo receiver for a road trip so that I could listen to my iPod in the car without an FM transmitter (ew). I was fully prepared to install myself for the first time: I had obsessively watched YouTube videos and downloaded install guides, but I lost track of time and found myself two days before departure with a shitty CD deck.
Worried I would $$$$ something up and leave my car out of commission, I found Robert after trolling Unilocal for a last minute, reliable technician. Booked solid for the rest of the week, Robert straight-​up offered to walk me through the install myself, or have me call him if I had any problems. This built up some kind of weird trust, and after begging him he fit me in the next day. Thanks to the strange massive trust I put into this guy I found on Unilocal without a professional Web Site, I somehow agreed to meet him in a parking lot for the install. That said:
Robert was kind, professional, ridiculously cheap and totally trust worthy. He used to be the trainer/​head technician at Circuit City and really knows what he is doing. I’ve had the stereo installed for a few months now, and it was seriously one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.
When I get new speakers, Robert will install them. Any time a friend even mentions a new car stereo, I jump at the opportunity to throw his name out there. If you’re even kind of considering getting this kind of work done, stop looking around and give Robert a call.
