Erica Stephens Art

Do not pass on an opportunity to try one of Erica Stephens’ art classes. Erica has created an environment that is warm, welcoming, fun, and appropriate for anyone. I attended her class on Matisse. Erica’s attention to detail ensured that every person had an unbelievably awesome time — from an email overview before to the setup of all the supplies and canvases.
The session began with an hour long class in which all guests bring their own dinner and she provides drinks and desserts. The material she presented had multiple entry points to keep the crowd, which ranged from a group of girls in their early twenties to grandmothers, engaged — providing a vast amount of knowledge on Matisse’s career while also fielding questions. We then transitioned into her studio where all of the supplies and canvases awaited us. Erica took us through the basics such as in how to mix colors, which benefited the beginners like me, while also providing a lot of space to work independently if desired. She was helpful and encouraging, circulating and checking in with all students and providing tips or even a helping hand. No detail was left unthought of, from the variety of paintbrushes to the availability of a fan for drying layers of paint. My friends and I had an excellent time and will definitely be attending another class!

I’ve participated in several of these style of art class and Erica Stevens’ are superior. Her knowledge of painting is vast and her teaching techniques really elucidate the subject. With a mini-​lecture at the beginning about the artist who’s painting we do a study of the whole evening was informative as well as fun. Check it out.

I really enjoyed Erica’s class. I took her Adult drawing class and had a blast! It was a great place to take time out of my busy schedule to relax, meet new people and be creative again. I would definitely take one of her art classes again.

Erica is an amazing art teacher. Her classes are approachable and engaging for even the least art-​inclined of us. It’s very fascinating how so many of us think «I can’t draw» or «I’m not creative» and put ourselves in a box… Erica will show you that anyone can learn how to be creative and that there are so many variations to the concept of drawing. I’ve seen her teach teenagers and adults, newcomers to the world of art and experts looking to brush up on their technique. Very highly recommended.
