Kimber-Lea Tennis

I used to live over by the Durant & Whitney intersection, so it was easy to walk over to the «Kimber-​Lea Club». I had fun on the playground as a kid, even though it wasn’t a very big playground, just basic enough. «The Ditch» (the Midland Draw at the nearby Maxwell bridge) was a bigger attraction & fascination for me.
I don’t think I came here for tennis more than once, if even that.
But I had so much more fun swimming at the Club pool during the summer. It was great that they had 2 – 3 lifeguards on duty. Even though the pool could get crowded (especially the shallow end), they also had a kiddie (wading) pool, & a diving board in the deep end (~12 feet?). The last 15 minutes of every hour were devoted to an «adult swim» time (lifeguard break). When I was younger I didn’t care much for this, but loved it once I got into high school & college!
