Holiday Inn Express & Suites Midland South I-20

Why has no one else written a review on this awesome hotel?
We stayed here 12÷29÷15 while trying to make our way home after Winter Storm Goliath. We love Holiday Inn Express hotels, but this one is now our favorite, which makes me feel disappointed, because I can’t imagine I’ll have a reason to stay in Midland again.
The complimentary breakfast is exceptional, with fresh and crispy bacon, good coffee, fresh juices, and much, much more.
The business center is adjacent to the breakfast area and actually has a printer you can use!
The beds are so, so, so comfortable. I want one at home, they’re that comfortable. The room was clean, there’s laundry rooms on each floor (coin-​operated, but still, an awesome extra), and their location is super convenient right off the interstate. Free Wi-​Fi, good water pressure in the shower, comfortable pillows. Friendly staff, quick check-​out, and a suite shop. This hotel has all the things you’d hope for in a reasonably priced hotel, plus extras you didn’t think you’d want until you have them and are so grateful for them.
The hotel clearly caters to truckers, considering some of the extras and the generous parking lot. While I’m not a trucker, I have many family members and friends who are, so thank you for offering them this level of hospitality.
One particular desk clerk really stood out for us: Sergio. He recommended an excellent restaurant for dinner, made sure we could find our way around, and was so friendly we laughed for what felt like the first time in days. Sergio, you’re awesome, thank you for making us feel so welcomed in Midland.
And of course, one complaint: the HVAC is shared throughout the hotel, so you get noise from other rooms. Thankfully, I had my sense of humor back by the time we made it to Midland, so upon hearing the sounds of a parent attempting to separate his children’s belongings in another room (probably right above or below us), I couldn’t help but interact in the conversation. So to that poor soul, I apologize: when you asked your kids whose socks those were, I couldn’t help but pipe up and tell you, «they’re not mine!»
Overall, an excellent hotel and staff.
