Sano Salon and Color Bar

This is NOT run by the same people who won the awards on their website. I went there a month and a half ago and asked for very specific color. The woman (owner) did something COMPLETELY different. When I saw the results — she said it looked better than what I’d wanted. 1^st — it did not look better (the lowlights were uneven and poorly distributed) and 2^nd — I didn’t want it!
She said she would fix it, but when I called to reschedule, she sounded so unpleasant that I’d actually planned to take her up on her promise that I decided to go to another salon.
My biggest complaint is that if she did not know what I really wanted, or if she thought something else would look better — she should have discussed it BEFORE applying the color.

My favorite spot to get my nails done. Not many people know there is one person in the back that does nails and she’s my go-​to girl. I travel from Fort Lee to Midland park bc I can’t find anyone that does a better job than she does. When you go ask for Lee!

Went to Sano for highlights and was booked with Elisabeth. I didn’t find her friendly at all. My hair didn’t end up looking like anything close to what I had asked for (I walked out with random streaks and splotches). I had to go to another salon to have it fixed.

I went to Sano for the first time today and loved it. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, and very accomodating.
Elisabeth did my hair and she was great. Walked me through all of the options step by step, and told me what the price would be for each, and made sure I was comfortable with it. You can really tell that they care about their customers. I have always dyed my hair black for years, and I decided I wanted to lighten my hair after about 10+ years of dying it black. I stopped dying it for about a year, to let the color grow out. I am korean-​american, and I have always gone to korean salons, but I wanted to make sure i went to a salon that was really experienced with coloring. I wanted to get highlights in different shades in a natural brown, and I feared that with going to other salons, it would come out orange/​red. Elisabeth told me that it would require a lot of work to turn my hair light, but she was really excited about it. I’ve never had a stylist that was so excited to do my hair! Haha.
My hair came out great, although a couple strands are a bit lighter than I was expecting. I have made another appt to add more highlights to the bottom of my hair, and am going to ask for the lighter strands to be warmed up a bit. Overall, had such a great experience, and really loved the salon.
