History

Established in 2006.

Established in 2005 as Ryefield Ceramics operating out of my basement. I taught classes, made and sold hand made stoneware pottery and did paint your own pottery at fairs and festivals. In 2008, I opened Your Creation Station and continue all those activities and more from there.

«The Road Not Taken», Robert Frost may provide the best description of how, Steve found his way back to potter’s wheel following a career in the software industry. Steve describes his career path as, «more of a winding road than anything else.» After being introduced to the wheel as a young teen Steve was hooked and spent a significant portion of time in high school learning what he could about the art until other commitments and opportunities drew him away. Following high school, he attended the University of Delaware and then to serve as a Peace Corp volunteer in Thailand for two years. Upon completing his assignment, Steve remained in Thailand for an additional four years working for local agencies creating and implementing HIV/​AIDS education programs and teaching computers for an area business school. Returning to the US, he took up computer programming full time before his desire to reconnect with the thing that matter more in his life led him back to ceramics.
