We also offer an upscale fitness apparel boutique offering stylish and «fun“ctional workout apparel as well as accessories and gifts.

Meet the Business Owner

Kelsey and Tanis C.

Business Owner

Kelsey found her love for ballet at the age of 5. After graduating high school, she danced professionally before making the decision to stop dancing. She knew she needed to do something fitness related but after trying several exercise routines she was never fully hooked. That is until she was introduced to barre. Immediately she knew that the barre life was the life for her! Kelsey loves Studio Barre because it brings results quickly in a fun & motivating atmosphere. Kelsey is SO excited to show Rhode Island the workout that has changed her life!

Tanis spent most of her life in MA before recently moving to the coast of RI. Her early career was spent as an advertising manager & free lance writer before becoming a full time mom to her 4 children. In 1995 she founded the Celiac Support Group for Children, Inc. & subsequently Camp Celiac, the largest attended camp in the world dedicated to gluten free children. When not at the barre she can be found at the beach, with family or gardening!

I was in Newport for my wedding and didn’t want to miss my barre workouts! I came to Studio Barre and it was such a great experience. The studio is cute and clean and everyone was so nice. I will definitely take class here again if I’m back in Newport!

I’ve been attending classes regularly for about a week and adore showing up, tucking away, & getting a flavorful workout! The classes are fun, instructors give beautiful adjustments, the studio space is clean and the location is perfect. I have been to a mix of classes, I enjoy how every time there is something different being put into the mix. I have zero background in dance and would never call myself an athletic person. But with the cues, instructors, and practice I have been happily surprised that this is truly all it takes. Don’t forget your grip socks and show up with an open mind that you are stronger than your mind may trick you into think! Shaking is good! I try to just smile, be grateful and or laugh it off haha. Thanks Barre Studio Newport for providing your services and building a supportive community.

I am in my 2nd week of Barre and am loving it so far. It’s the 1st workout that i’ve tried in which time flies by! The instructors are great and fun and the classes have been kicking my butt. So glad I found this studio!

I love Studio Barre!!! The actual studio is modern, clean, bright and inviting. The boutique part of the studio is filled with awesome yoga clothes… pants, tops, socks, etc. They have best water bottles for fruit or veggie infused water… tons of great gear… the classes are SO much fun!!! I thought I was in shape from doing cross fit for a couple of years… not so much. It’s a totally different workout, and it will work muscles you never you had. Also, it is GREAT for flexibility, which I also learned have none… barre classes will challenge everything… I would highly recommend Studio Barr! The instructors are first class… very helpful, encouraging and informative. The owners are so so nice, as well. It is a very well run business, allowing clients to register online, look up classes, see specials, etc. Love this place.

Amazing studio! I have been impressed since my very first visit. Friendly and extremely knowledgable staff. The workouts are tough and the instructors keep you on your toes (literally!). The studio itself is very nice and in a great location. The owner has been wonderful to work with. Highly recommend!

Absolutely in love with this workout and the studio. I’ve had 1 minor surgery and 1 major surgery and was worried how well I’d be able to handle the classes. Every instructor I’ve had is aware of my injuries and has given me alternative moves to do when the original bothers me too much, which is greatly appreciated! I love how the instructors walk throughout the class, demonstrating and correcting so you’re working out the correct body part and/​or don’t accidentally injure yourself. They push you to your own limit without making you feel overwhelmed or deflated if you’re heels aren’t as high as the girl next to you. The staff is knowledgable, friendly and most importantly, truly cares about the clients and wanting them to succeed. You girls rock!

This is an absolutely amazing workout! It truly is a full body workout and it makes you feel so good afterwards. The staff is incredibly helpful-​my first time there they got everything I needed for a tuckin’ great night. Would highly suggest it for anyone in the area! It is addicting… in the best way possible!

Studio Barre is one of the hardest and most fun workouts I have ever done! Every single class kicks your butt and leaves you feeling great about your body! All the girls who work at this location are friendly, helpful, and know how to run a great business. I have been attending these classes since their grand opening and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon! Highly recommend.

I just took my first class today and I’m hooked. I thought I was in decent shape but this definitely challenged me. Kaylee the instructor helped each participant on an individual basis. If you are looking for something to add or just change up your routine… I highly recommend.

I absolutely love the way this workout makes me feel. Works every single part of your body and kicks your butt into shape. I get low blood sugar so doing a high cardio workout can be tough for me, making me dizzy, But I have found this to be the perfect workout for me! Studio barre gets me sweating, toned and tightened and leaves me feeling great for the rest of the day. Staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. Classes are small so you feel like you get that extra attention. The workout really seems to fly by!
