Pretty disappointed. Place has good reviews but they must of been by friends lol. The place is called salad jazz. Yea they have fresh ingredients but improperly prepped. For example, the mixed greens weren’t spun correctly causing it to be wet(the worst thing you can possibly do wrong to a salad.) Also they forgot the dressing in it. The owner asked the girl if she put it in on. She replies, yes I did. So instantly I’m upset because she lied. So I let it go and got a side of dressing. I move onto my Waldorf wrap, take my first bite, no dressing! So not only did she forget to dress my salad and lie about it, she does the same with my wrap. I just dipped it in my side dressing and didn’t speak a word. Also this came with wet spinach as well. But also the whole thing rates like roasted red pepper. I wonder why, after looking down at a little puddle of roasted pepper juice from improperly drained peppers. If you want to use can peppers make sure you drain them to look fresh. Employee of the year award! Good job! I walked out with my head down and my cell phone ready to write this message. Not mad just disappointed lol.

Just found this place today. Hidden in the corner of the shopping plaza. Inside was very clean and the employees were nice and friendly. I got the Waldorf wrap which was extremely delicious. It was nice to have a lunch that tasted fresh and you could actually see all the ingredients that went into. I will definitely be coming back to Salad Jazz for lunch soon.

There’s nothing bad I can say about this place. The store is clean, the staff is friendly and the ingredients are always fresh. Nice portions. HIGHLY recommend.

This place is everything that is right with restaurants. First, you have a local, english-speaking owner. Not only does the owner live locally and graduated from a local college, but she also works the place. Second, all of the food is fresh and not frozen in ziplock bags like Saladworks down the street. Third, the place is CHEAP! I got a whole wrap for 6.50 with onions, chicken, bacon, and mushrooms. I’m really looking forward to going back and trying out the rest of the menu, and the girls at the barber next store sung praises for the clam chowder. Seats are super comfortable and they play some easy-listening tracks. You can see them make everything right behind the window. Honestly, I thought this place was closed because of it’s tough-to-see front window. I was pleasantly surprised when I stopped in tonight to try it out. The quality and price is better than both Panera and Saladworks, both big-chain rivals. Seriously — try this place out. Vote with your dollar for the little guys. Eat your dinner with pride knowing that every dollar you spent will be invested back into your community.

I’m frequently in this shopping plaza — nails, sushi, wine on my commute home — and have finally tried Salad Jazz tonight for the first time tonight. The ingredients were super fresh, the portion was great for 8 bucks, and the woman who had helped me was actually super honest and helpful(their website is currently down but there is an active coupon… She advised to check back next week). I recommend the Apple Chop salad! FYI they close at 8 mon-fri as of 2÷18÷15

Great new salad place in Middletown! The staff is extremely friendly, and will explain how their menu works, and the best way to order. Salads are freshly made to order. They are huge, you can decide what you would like on it from their huge selections of options. Dressings are mixed in to your salad, and then served with pita chips on the side. They also have wraps, whole wheat, and white, with whatever you would like in them. All of their items are fresh, so if they are out of something it is ok, they only serve the best. Since they have opened we have eaten here many times and have been very satisfied every time!

Best«make your own» salad spot in the area hands down! Ever since the day Salad Jazz opened I’ve been obsessed. It was great to finally see a make your own salad place in NJ after moving from NYC where they’re everywhere. All the ingredients are fresh(I know this because I see the owner bringing in fresh groceries all the time lol). Friendly staff, sweet owner, overall great experience every time I highly recommend!

Was very excited to see a ‘create your own’ salad shop open in Middletown as I am a frequent«diner» at similar places in NYC.(They are SO much better than Saladworks… better selection, better quality, better everything). The first time I went there the staff was wonderful(two young ladies), they were polite and made a great salad, not too little or too much, just right. By the time I went back for round 2 there was a ‘Help Wanted’ sign on the door and it there was one person working(the owner), she was flustered, rude, and very sparse with the toppings(after finishing my salad, I was searching for more). I also noticed they were using different toppings than my first experience with them. The third time I visited them, there was a new employee and again the owner. The owner watched her make the salad and when she thought she was putting too much into the salad, she made sure to tell her so. When I requested more, she was very unhappy, questioning how many toppings I was getting. When the employee rang me up, the owner made sure to watch her every move(which makes sense since she was new). At the end, I made sure to provide the owner with my feedback on my experiences with them thus far and that I would not be returning to such poor quality and customer service. If you are going to open a business, especially in the food industry you will only stay in business with good service, good quality, and good value. Without all three you are simply another business renting space for a while.

Fresh ingredients and pricing! That’s what I would say for a title. lol I stopped in because the name sounded interesting and I was shopping in the strip mall it’s in. It is a cute little shop and was really clean. I think they opened recently(due to the banner and newness of the employees) but they were very friendly and accommodating. I got a salad with Spinach and kale and a few toppings. I had a side of their house made balsamic and it was very tasty and a little different. They then chop the salad for you and toss it with the dressing, if you so desire. It was all really great. They also offer fresh lemon and olive oil as a dressing, which I may try next because it sounds simple and refreshing. The ordering process takes a couple minutes because they are doing it all as you order but I’m sure this will speed up once they get their rhythm. However, I can’t wait to go back.
