Established in 1966.

Founded in 1966, Middlesex Community College (mxcc​.edu) is part of the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities System. In all it does, Middlesex Community College strives to be the college of its community. By providing high quality, affordable, and accessible education to a diverse population, the college enhances the strengths of individuals through degree, certificate, and lifelong learning programs that lead to university transfer, employment, and an enriched awareness of our shared responsibilities as global citizens. MxCC, recently named a «Great College to Work For» by «The Chronicle of Higher Education,» offers more than 50 degree or certificate programs at the main 38-​acre campus in Middletown, the downtown Meriden Center, the shoreline, and online.

Nothing but good words can be said about Middlesex Community College. My first semester I made a large amount of kind new friends including faculty staff and even deans and president herself. I am so happy I choose to go to this college which inhabits a safe community and learning area for students, which is close to home where I can still see my family on a daily basis. I would highly recommend MxCC to any student looking to further in there career. I say this because I surely didn’t know what I wanted to do in life but with the help and guidance from my advisor I am now ready to enter the business world where I’m quite certain I will be hired. Middlesex doesn’t need to be a plan (B) it most certainly for me was plan (A).

I found a dead frog in the parking lot. My husband picked it up thinking it was alive, and then was promptly disgusted.
Anyways, this review is about the school. A-​OK. Some professors are awful, some pretend they are teaching at Yale. Can’t ever find a happy medium.

I took a microbiology class here during a Spring semester and not only was the classroom and lab very outdated, the instructor wasn’t all that helpful. Parking was atrocious especially when there was snow and ice covering everything. There are about 4 different academic buildings which could only make for a bigger headache when having to walk building to building for different classes. I prefer Capitol CC in Hartford or NVCC.
