Hearing Services of Delaware

I’ve been to the Glasgow office in the People’s Plaza shopping center located between the daycare and dentist office, a number of times now. I’ve had 2 – 3 great experiences and one mediocre one (2^nd visit) where I felt pressured to make a decision. Overall though, it’s been great working with audiologist Lisa and front receptionists are all warm and welcoming (Justine, Callie, Faith). Lisa is super knowledgable about hearing aids and their accompanying products or devices. If you have a question that she doesn’t automatically know, she’ll research it and give you an answer later or refer you to someone who specializes in that area, for instance DVR.
I purchased one hearing aid from them and the process was smooth and easy. They told me the price, and I paid half up front and the remainder when I received it. Hearing aid batteries are free for the first year, which is AWESOME. I realize many places do this, but it really is a nice feature that saves you money!
Before I purchased my current hearing aid, I had the one I previously wore repaired. Since, I did not have a back-​up and needed to hear, go to work, live my daily life– Hearing services of Delaware also provided me a newer version hearing aid to wear and try out. I know this is standard practice as well, but it was neat for me to try out new technology, that I couldn’t otherwise afford. For the repair, it was $ 300. they sent it to the manufacturer in Europe, repaired and added new pieces, and shipped it back.
When picking up my new hearing aid, the audiologist informed me of a new technology that attaches a hearing device to your teeth because the jaw bone captures sound vibrations better than the soft bone behind your ear. It’s called SoundBite. Although, I’m a bit skeptical, it does sound interesting and I would be interested in trying it out to compare sound and hearing experiences.
I currently wear an Oticon Sumo, which is digital– my first digital hearing aid, the rest have been analog, so there is some occasional frequency feedback to grow accustomed to. other than that, I am a satisfied customer.
Great job, Hearing Services of Delaware for helping repair my old hearing aid, select a new device, working with my family– when I brought my Dad along, and working with me! I look forward to returning in the future for other devices and those free hearing aid batteries!
