Don’t waste your time or money. Donatos was our favorite pizza for years until we ordered one last week, which was absolutely terrible. As others have complained, it was cold. It was also chewy and with almost no discernible toppings on it, even though it was supposed to be pepperoni. It was as if the employees were almost out of ingredients so they panicked and skimped on the last two-dozen pies for that day. The massive dough ring on the edges, which Dontaos ads used to boast that they don’t have at all, was a good two inches thick, so 20% of our pizza had no topping at all. It was easily the worst pizza we’ve had in the ten years we’ve lived in Middletown — not just from Donatos, but from ANYONE. Lastly, the delivery dude invited us to complete an online survey on the vendor’s own site. So I did, and soundly panned them there as well. And not one peep from the restaurant. Just goes to show… they don’t care before OR after the sale.

If you want some pizza with the Donatos flavor, this location will meet that need. However, you absolutely _must_order ahead and take it away. We called to reserve the party room(having never visited) and arrived promptly with our group after the event(a concert at Miami University). Mostly, we chose this place because of its proximity to the concert venue. I wish we had done better research. The party room is large and has a door, but as soon as we approached, we were overwhelmed by the smell of cigarette smoke. We saw the ‘employees only’ door adjoining the party room ajar and could only surmise that either the party room or the employee area was used in lieu of going outdoors for smoke breaks. Thankfully, there was seating next to that room that accommodated our group(6 adults, 11 children). We were able to wedge the party room door shut with a high chair and somewhat contain the smoke exposure. After perusing the menu, we ordered and began the interminable wait. Sure, we were there at lunch and we expected a bit of a wait, but there appeared to be only three other orders that came in during our time there. To prepare just a couple of pizzas(7 all told), it took from 35 – 52 minutes to complete our orders(longer if you count the mistakes and items that they forgot to prepare). Even better, it appears that the men’s restroom hadn’t been cleaned in ages and there were no paper towels to dry one’s hands. Bottom line — this place may be passable for carry out, but please — don’t make anyone you care about endure a visit to this location.

I took Kim Sizemore here last month and it’s everything a guy on a date would want ! Great atmosphere, good pizza, and octogenarians freaking out and yelling at the cashier about their extra onion pizza order. This particular location has a party room, but I was disappointed to not see so much as a piñata when were there. The party room is free to use, mostly because nobody will pay them to use it. Of note, the stores managers last name is «Manager». it says so on her name tag. If that doesn’t tell you how qualified the staff is, I don’t know what would. The only thing that bothered me is the sign in the bathroom that read, «employees must wash hands». I’ll wash my own hands, thank you very much. When I got home, I had a farting party.

Good pizza, the crust is usually nice and crispy, toppings from edge to, edge
