We can also help you with memory boxes containing collections or various treasures such as: military insignia, photos, and uniforms; event collections like tickets, programs, and photos; birth and wedding keepsakes; and much more.
If you have it, love it, wish to see it and keep it safe, we can frame it for you.
At Art Avenue the creative possibilities are almost endless since our computerized mat cutter has such great versatility. Our cutter not only has two cutter heads that allow for cutting either with or without a bevel, this one also has a head that can hold a wide variety of pens so we can inscribe mats with words, designs, or both. This machine also has a trace option that makes it possible for us to cut nearly shape opening we need so we can match something that is neither rectangular nor round.
We have a large selection of oval frames and other popular vintage shapes like cathedral, oblong, hexagon, and octagon. Convex glass can also be ordered to fit these frames or the truly vintage frames you may already have.
Our selection of art available for purchase includes the wildlife art of Christopher B. Walden; photographs, o
History
Established in 2011.
Located in the heart of the Canal District of downtown Middletown, Art Avenue Custom Framing opened in June of 2011 when Phillip Harrison and Jay Moorman purchased a frame shop, McMurray Frames & Gifts, which had been operational for about 15 years in Lebanon, Ohio. In the process, they also hired the principal framer from that shop, Sylvia McIntosh, who has over 20 years experience that started under the tutelage of Bill Jordan of the Buffalo Gallery.

Phillip H.
Business Owner
Phillip is a flight attendant from Washington State. So why open a frame shop in Middletown, Ohio? Phillip’s wife brought him to this area where they have developed many friends over the years and a passion to see downtown Middletown return to life. After being approached by Jay to partner in the frame shop, Phillip spent many months studying framing and the framing business. Art Avenue Custom Framing was only the first of Phillip’s business investments in the Canal District of downtown.
