I will miss this place. This was my local store growing up and it is closing it’s doors for good tomorrow. I’ll miss going here at 3am to get groceries and chit-chat with the night staff and I’ll miss loading up on jo-jo fries. I literally grew up coming to this store and it will be greatly missed.

This store is poorly managed. It is constantly out of stock on popular items. My biggest complaint is the way they discount expired food. Anything discounted or is a «manager special» should be thrown in the garbage because it is rotten! I mistakenly bought a discounted pack of chicken breasts and of course it was inedible. I have also gotten food poisoning from buying shrimp from the fish monger. I also bought a large piece of salmon which was so bad it was like jello. I threw it in the garbage because it was so disgusting. I couldn’t get a refund because I didn’t bring back the fish in question. No wonder this chain is on the verge of bankruptcy.

As with the connected CUB liquors it’s selection is sparse. Limited items everywhere you go. Need something more, go to the shop rite in Bound Brook. This place is not the go to grocery destination. I live three block from this place but travel further for shop rite.

When I need the basics: milk, basic produce, stuff from the center aisles, this place can do. But really for those of us who need a little interest in our diets and grocery experiences, as well as a good meat counter, nice fish, a large selection of vegetables and fruits… this is not your place. It’s going to be here forever and it will not change because it’s really the only grocery in a huge area. But it’s boring.
