Sacred Dunes Alternative health is Michigan City’s first holistic wellness center. Located at 225 West 5th Street, the studio is in the heart of downtown. We offer many services, including, acupuncture, yoga, Homebirth midwifery care, massage, herbs and nutrition, childbirth education, as well many special workshops. We are committed to helping make a healthier duneland community.
History
Established in 2015.
Owner and founder of Sacred Dunes Alternative Health LLC, Stephanie Gordon L.Ac., MSTOM, is passionate about living a life full of color and zest. She believes our current culture and quality of life deserves a major improvement both for individuals and our society.
She first became infatuated with natural health, nutrition, herbal medicine and yoga when she was studying Early Childhood Education for her first Bachelor’s Degree at Northern Illinois University. While studying at NIU she became a Certified Birth Doula through DONA International and Hypnobabies. At this time, she also became a Certified Dancing for Birth Instructor, Zumba Instructor and a Certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist. After her undergraduate studies, she decided to start her medical education at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine to obtain a Master’s of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine with a Bachelor’s in Nutrition.
