Optometrist was friendly and knowledgable but his sales staff are rude, aloof and incompetent. I purchased a set of frameless wore glasses because they are light weight. I was told to purchase the additional anti-​scratch and anti-​glare coatings (which added up to $ 300 OVER the price of the glasses!). After paying for and picking up my glasses, they scratched the very next day and have bad glares. So the extra protective coatings I paid for were an absolute rip-​off. They told me «no refunds» when I called to complain! Felt like I had just paid for an «under-​coat» by a sleezy auto dealer! Will not be back as their pricing is too expensive and is a rip-​off. Go to Meijers Optical or Pearl Vision instead!

I’ve experienced way better service at many other eyeglass stores. My family started going here after we switched insurance and they were much closer and in network. The optometrist was excellent, really personable and approachable, but the receptionist/​glasses sales people were quite the opposite. I was there with my sister, and we took our time to decide on glasses. When I finally chose a pair, I was measured and told them I wanted the cost to be zero and left. When I got the call back to pick them up (10 days later), my mother came with me. I tried on my new glasses, got them fitted, and my mother decided to try on some frames while we were there. I decided while I was helping her that my glasses were a little too tight, and when I asked the lady to loosen them a bit, she acted like I was being extremely inconvenient, even though there was only one other man in the store who was waiting for an appointment.
Fast forward a few months to when my mother is due for new frames. I accompanied her, and we took our time (about a half hour) to select them because the ones she had liked when I was picking up my glasses were nowhere to be found. We were the only ones in the store. We selected a frameless, lightweight pair. They were marked as a little over our insurance, but that was not a big deal. My mother is measured for them, and the receptionist (all while YELLING) explains that there will be some additional fees but to have a seat while she calculates. She calls my mother over a few minutes later and explains that the glasses would be $ 400 OVER the insurance allowance. Are you kidding me? She explained all the charges, which included an extra cost for a non-​reflective coating because the «in-​house» one was not good (then why do you offer it??), and other charges due to the size and type of frame, which for some reason were not just included in the price of the frame. My mother is not elderly and has no health problems or anything, so it was incredibly condescending and rude for the lady to yell all of this information at her and then to explain that she was using her «professional judgement» to make all of these charges without consulting her customer for what our actual needs are. We ended up choosing a different frame and ended up only paying extra for a higher prescription, which we knew going in. But we were extremely close to just leaving and going somewhere else.
tl;dr: Rude, condescending receptionists will try to overcharge you if you’re not aggressive.
