Alpha Storage Michigan City specializes in providing the best of all-​indoor storage for personal, business, vehicle, boat, RV and trailer storage needs of our customers. The facility is a multi-​story brick structure that has freight elevators to move items onto the storage floors from the loading docks using complimentary on-​site carts and dollies. The storage floors contain rows of individual storage units, ensuring each tenant’s items are safe and secure, as well as out of the weather. Storage rental is on a month-​to-​month basis, so customers can store items for as little as a month; or as long as you need. For customer convenience, we also sell locks at a great price. Alpha storage is also fully alarmed, has a sprinkler system, is family owned, and has friendly, knowledgeable staff that is eager to help assist customers with any storage needs or questions they may have.

History

Established in 2001.

Alpha Storage Michigan City is truly a «green» business because in the year 2000 we purchased an old, abandoned factory on the west side of town and began converting it into a storage facility. The building was originally known as the Portis Hat Factory, making stylish hats for men and women in Chicago and throughout the United States. The property was bought out and became the JayMar Ruby clothing factory, dating back to the early 1920’s through the 1980’s. It was then sold again and run as a universal joint manufacturer for about a decade, when it then sat abandoned until the year 2000. After the initial phase I conversion of the third floor into storage units, in October of 2001 we opened for business, also offering approximately 10,000 sq. ft. of heated space to store cars, boats, RV’s, campers, golf carts, jet skis, and any other vehicle that may need to be stored inside, protected from the weather.
