This was our first experience at the Ziff. We were there for Alvin Ailey. It was a great performance, but our seats were a problem. We were in Box 8 on the first level in seats 5 and 6, which were behind 1,2,3 and 4. Seat 6 should be labeled as an obstructed view. You can only see about half the stage because of a wall that juts out. My husband had to move his chair way to the opposite corner of the box to be able to see the whole stage. I would suggest actually putting the seat way over there and dropping the price ($ 90). No wonder these two seats were available only 3 days before the performance when I bought them! So be wary of second rows in the boxes. tried to find an email address to alert the arsht folks to our dissatisfaction but couldn’t find one.

If you are unable to see a play on Broadway, going out for an afternoon matinée at the Ziff Ballet Opera House at The Arsht Center may just be a perfect alternative. We bought tickets to see Kinky Boots this past week and were thrilled with the experience. The folks who run the seating and concessions are very friendly, the place is spotless and cool to temperature, and the sound is wonderful; this all coming from a viewer with not the closest of seating either. I can only imagine if being in the first few rows, how perfect everything would have looked and sounded.
Arrive early and be ready for the show to start promptly at start time, and when intermission breaks, there are plenty of accessible restrooms and concessions even up in the top tiers to accommodate everyone. All in all, get a little dressed up, bring your opera glasses, have a glass of wine perhaps and enjoy some theater at one of Miami’s more fun venues.

I’m at the Ziff, about once or twice every six weeks. Its a great theater, the seats are more comfortable than Broward and parking is a lot easier.

I like the venue, the quality of the sound and easy access and egress makes it a wonderful modern facility to listen to Opera, or Broadway shows. I have been there several times, and keeps getting better. The only issue I have with the location is the café that tends to get bit overcrowded and very slow on show days, if they know there is an issue with this, they should have more staff to resolve the situation.

I went here for a Jason Mraz concert in the middle of the week and I wasn’t sure what to expect since I had never been here before. I will say, the method of receiving tickets and purchasing parking ahead of time is quite confusing. Apparently the tickets are emailed to you in a PDF, but the website says something about will call. I had to call the venue to ask how I was supposed to get my tickets, and they were very helpful and sent them to my email again. I also purchased parking ahead of time, which was $ 15. They don’t tell you how you’re supposed to prove you paid for parking. Luckily, the lot had a list of names and that’s how they knew. The parking lot is right next to the opera house, so definitely a great location. Once you get in the magnificent doors of the venue, there is a bunch of overpriced food ($ 10 for a fruit salad? no thanks!). We didn’t have to wait too long to get into the actual performance area, but the staff was super friendly save for the cell phone police. Seriously, if you so much as took out your phone, they’d come over to you. I highly doubt this was Jason Mraz’s deal– I’ve been to concerts of his before and he didn’t really care about video recording. Anyway, the whole venue was pretty clean, including the bathrooms. Main complaints are the cell phone police, the extremely overpriced food, the ticket and parking confusion, and the long lines at the bathroom during intermission. Overall a pretty good experience.

I’ve ended up at the Ziff Ballet Opera House about four times over the past two months and always have a pleasant experience.
To start, parking isn’t a huge issue. There is valet along with lots costing $ 15 BUT, if you get there early enough, you can find street parking bordering those lots that you pay for via Pay by Phone. It’ll save you about ten bucks for the duration of the show.
Pricing for seats vary based on demand and production — for Beauty & The Beast, we sat in the orchestra and paid almost the same price we did for Newsies where we sat in Tier 3. In December, I scored second row seats to The Book of Mormon for $ 25 because the producers are nice enough to do a lottery in every city! Sitting in the orchestra is always a plus but even if you end up in the higher tiers, you won’t miss any of the action.
For dining, it houses two restaurants — BRAVA! and The Café at Books & Books. Neither is cheap but if you’ve already planned a nice night out to theatre and don’t mind splurging a little, these could be good options. For snacks, there are stalls selling drinks and snacks that are market up but not too horribly.
Overall, as a theatre enthusiast, I’m happy the Ziff Ballet Opera House hosts a number of performances throughout the year. I look forward to the next time I can return!

Tasked with seeing a dance show for my History of Dance class (yes, I’m taking a history of dance class), I went armed and ready to Disney Newsies note-​taking paper and pen in hand.
Here’s the lowdown.
We bought tickets in advance so that part was really simple. It is great that there are a variety of options with print at home or will call. Plus one star for the easy purchase.
Parking: If you are willing to pay the $ 15 or $ 20 dollars (yes, five feet makes a difference) parking is relatively easy with lots literally 40 feet away.
Seating: Let’s play a fun game called calculate how much they’re making from the ticket prices. Our seats were in Tier 4 and fortunately we don’t get nauseous because we certainly were high up. For $ 26, it seems relatively expensive for the height we were at. Yes, I know it is a world class dance show and not the movie theatre. Fortunately, the row in front of us was empty so no need to peer over tall heads. Also, you better be ready to be best friends with your neighbor because the seats are super close together.
Show: We could definitely see the movement of the dancers and each show is different. But, this lighter family show was a good choice. We saw the Sunday evening show, but there were lots of different showtime options
Food/​Extras: They sold food there, but we assumed they would have marked it up significantly. Thus, I come prepared! Protein bars and quest chips… healthy show snacks FTW.
Overall, if you are looking for something to do in Miami during afternoons or weekends and fancy yourself a dance or theater buff, or just seek some good olé’ non-​movie entertainment, the Ziff Ballet House is a good option.

I really loved this venue. It was clean, organized and perfect for a good theater show. We came here on a Saturday for a 2 p.m. showing of The Book of Mormon. We prepaid for parking, so that made everything much simpler. I definitely recommend doing that in advanced.
We walked in with about a minute or two before the show began. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They took us to our seats and we were ready.
The seats were comfy. The only issue that I had was the lady to my right had her legs crossed, and her foot in my bubble. Ugh, seriously people. I kept pushing my leg into hers to make things awkward and get her out of my space. I’m sure a simple excuse me could have worked. .whatever
Anyway, the time it was intermission, we headed over to the bathrooms. Oddly enough, the women’s line moved faster than the men’s line. Go figure.
Overall, we had great seats that made the experience wonderful. The quality of he seats were really nice. I had a great time, and I would definitely come back here for another play.

What a beautiful venue! I woke up inspired by The Nutcracker show I saw last night.
I have already been to the Adrienne Arsht Center which is located next to this building but this is the first time visiting the Ziff Ballet Opera House. As I expected, the building itself is designed beautifully and the Christmas decorations in place enhance it even more.
We came on a Sunday night to see The Nutcracker, arrived early and found a parking space close to the building. If you’re hungry or feel like having a drink before the show there are a few stands inside with reasonable prices. The staff was very attentive and the show impressive.

This was a great experience beginning to end. Make sure you get there on time to maybe enjoy a drink before the show. The theater is very clean, the staff is super friendly and polite.
I will definitely be coming back for more.

I was terrified because were we late and couldn’t print tickets from Mac interface (use a pc). However, they were very helpful at will call. The ushers were great and courteous. After the show the valet service was a performance in itself. With runners and someone to call out tickets I was shocked that we got the car in 11min. Overall it was a great experience.

First performance here, probably one of the most beautiful modern theater I have ever seen. Brings together the looks of classic opera houses in a remarkable modern setting. Ballet Nacional shined on the stage and the modern sound system shows being able to catch every little sound. Beautiful and a great addition to Miami, as well as bringing arts home in a multi cultural setting. Make sure to pay for parking it’ll save you a headache when you’re trying to get into the theater.

I have been here for the wonderful family fest’s and also for Cinderella. In Cinderella the children in the audience were in shock when the pumpkin turned into the coach. Great special effects that everyone in town is talking about. Of course you already missed that show so I will talk about the venue. I parked on the street for only 6 bucks and avoided the crowded lots. The building is bright and clean. How do they clean those windows? Maybe that can be made into a show? We were so lucky because we got to see the actors exit into the street and act so gracious with the fans. We had Halloween candy at intermission so I can’t comment on the snack bar except to say that the lines were predictably long. I will definitely be back, I just got tickets for next months show. I should have been coming here for years but alas it is a new discovery.

This place is really beautiful and very well organized, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the theater itself is amazing. Was recently there for a show and it was absolutely amazing each time I went it has been a pleasant experience, parking is a little tricky and when the event is over despite the fact of how big this place is it gets super CROWDED bumping into others trying to leave the building at least when I was there last week and other times in the past I mean it’s hard trying to get out of there but aside from that great place! Hopefully there is never an emergency evacuation not sure how that would turn out! Overall great and beautiful architecture!

Nice venue, having been to the sister venue, we came here for Opera in 2014. The staff and venue are great, not sure how I feel about a $ 6 evian water, but oh well. Very nice overall, plenty of capacity in restrooms, and great staff. Parking is pretty reasonable (less than 2 Evians!).

I am not an Opera buff, however, last night’s premier of Verdi’s Nabucco at the Arsht Center was Outstanding. Verdi captures the voice of the ancient Hebrews and their struggle as exiles. Through music you experience the sense of sorrow and yearning for their homeland.
If you only see one Opera in your life, this would be the one to see. The cast were exceptional, especially Maria Guleghina as Abigaille and Kevin Short as Zaccaria!

This is a beautifully architected building that brings so much culture to our city. My girlfriend & I purchased tickets to see «Slavas Snow Show». The seats were extremely spacious & comfortable. As for the show, we enjoyed it immensely, especially the interactive portion at the end of the show where you get to play with the «snow», large floating balls & meet the performers. This is a must see show for the little ones.

This place is a top of the art structure and organization. Everything is carefully chosen and decorated. The staff is very helpful and polite, the whole environmrnt invites you to come again and again. There’s only one thing that I would like them to take more, the tempearture, probably it is me (i don’t know) but I’ve been here twice and both times I’ve felt it could be colder, at times I was sweating a little bit.
is this a place that I would come back? 100% yes, no doubt.

First and foremost I want to thank Unilocal for giving me (elites) free tickets to Mark Morris Dance Group last night.
I wore my best dress and gussied up for a night of glamour in the fairly young Ziff Ballet Opera House. I invited my mom, my boss and her young daughter (Carla) to accompany me and we were blown away, not only by the performance, but the architecture of this grandiose place.
Carla was especially thrilled by the spiral detail on the ceiling as well as the balconies to admire the downtown lights during intermission while we munched on overpriced processed cheese and wine, (clearly, I do not recommend the snacks here, they could better the selection and quality). Their curtains are also incredibly tacky and do not match the décor at all.
Although our seats in the nosebleed section were not the best, we were able to see perfectly. My boss really enjoyed the invitation and I ended up making a great impression.
There’s only one thing I am still wondering… Where do the «ballerinos» hang out and how can I meet one? *wink*
