Cool place that IS worth the visit as other reviewers mentioned. Cons– quite pricey (frequent purchaser from discogs/juno.com) compared to online out of country sellers. Big selection of older stuff but limited more eclectic older stuff. Employees are very nice and helpful. Just wish prices were better.

Really great gem of a store especially in Miami. Found this place on google while looking for record shops and I was not disappointed. Great selection of records especially if your looking for rock/​pop from the 60’s through the 80’s. The guy who works here is really nice and knowledgable on just about anything in the store. Some of the stuff is a bit expensive but you can always find great deals if you look hard enough! Come on by even if its just to look.

I usually go here on Saturdays, I’m a regular. They have a HUGE amount of vinyl, often featuring rare and vintage records from the 60s through the 90s. The records are usually pretty clean and dustless. The only complaint I have is the lack of alternative/​indie rock records. Other than that I think this is a great shop and definitely worth a visit.

Came here looking for some vinyl and boy Did I find some. Helpfull staff with wall to wall records. They have it arranged by artist, import, and new or old pressing. I found an excellent copy of The Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers. The hours are odd but no place is perfect. This is worth your time checking out if your a fan of Vinyl.

I cannot fathom what the other reviewers here are commenting on. I have been collecting vinyl for over 45 years and this store is easily within the top 5 all-​time worst record stores that I have visited, and I have visited hundreds.
Disorganized, vertical stacks everywhere, making discovery of LPs very difficult and, to top it all off, outrageous prices. Inconveniently set up, cascading piles of uncatalogued records underfoot everywhere AND VERY lazily managed, with very little of the usual record store charms to pull you in and making you WANT to look for treasures.
Many records I found here I have purchased for $ 7 to $ 10 and this store routinely had $ 25 to $ 39 on them. Don’t bother yourself with this place, as this proprietor certainly does not bother to prepare for you.
PS — The owner was kind enough to respond to my criticism with a very thoughtful summary of his business. I appreciate this but am still puzzled how someone who is obviously sincere in his efforts for his store can fall so short of other record shops. But I will acknowledge one observation:
lack of space is a key element in many of the problems with this store.

Miami’s best record store, bar none. Fantastic selection of used records in just about every genre (might be light on classical), clean and reasonably priced. Plus a nice selection of new/​reissued LPs. Plan on spending a bunch of time there, there’s tons of great stuff. Plus, the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. You’ll always find something great at Y & T!

My very favorite place for record shopping. They have a great and may I say, very eclectic collection of vinyl. The place is the kind of cramped that makes you think there’s treasure hidden among the rows upon rows of vinyl. I recommend calling ahead if you’re looking for something specific or just having a look around to see if something catches your eye. They have a lot of original pressings and you’ll even find some interesting picture discs in there. The staff is really cool and they’re always up for conversation on your music tastes and ready with well thought out recommendations for some not so obvious choices. They keep the records clean and in good shape and they’re good sports about playing something for you if you’re not sure. I always get really great advice on keeping my records clean and how to get small warps out too when I’m there. If you’re into vinyl then you won’t be disappointed.

I love going to Yesterday and Today. There are so many records that its hard to walk around. The owners are very nice and that special kind of cooky that makes for great conversation. They always recommend new things based on what you pick up and love showing off some of their rarer items. All the records are clean and they label all the covers so you know if its an original/​import which is great if you don’t like reissues or are looking for a specific pressing. I wish they carried more punk/​metal but they have so much more of everything else that it really doesn’t matter. And they buy/​trade records which you can’t do anywhere else now that Spec’s Music (R.I.P.) is gone.
They open kind of late and close kind of early, but what do you expect? Business isn’t what it used to be for vinyl. Some days they don’t show up at opening time so call ahead if you don’t want to wait around outside the shop.

Jetting down the Bird Road commercial corridor, there’s no shortage of Latin restaurants, mom and pop businesses and the occasional beauty salon. It’s not exactly the most obvious location for a perfectly gringo record shop toting all of the classics from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s.
Janis, Frank, Elvis, Marvin, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Jerry Lee, The Waitresses. Yeah, they were all there and now they’re in my living room.
If your budding collection is missing some of the musts, Y&T has every classic rock, blues, jazz record you might be searching for and amazingly, despite the stacks and piles of musical wax, most are cataloged and filed in their appropriate section and in alphabetical order. Prices are fair (averaging between $ 9.99−19.99) and the small selection of $ 1.99 records could provide an awesome surprise: hello American Roots Compilation! Electric blues? Yes’sir!
If you’ve got a Saturday or Sunday to really dive into sweet-​sounding relics, Yesterday and Today is a terrific use of your time.

Excellent selection of clean vinyl in very good shape. Lots of variety and well organized– some very rare pieces in there too. The owner was extremely helpful, and the prices can’t be beat for the quality of the records. Definitely going back.

I Love Y&T and if it wasn’t for the fact that I’m running out of space in my house and can’t justify spending money every week on records, I’d be there more often. Evan and I have gotten to know each other over the last year that I have been going there (though he probably forgot my name again) he is very helpful and he knows where everything is. Once you figure out his mindset you can figure out where the records are more or less. Prime records for him are pretty much anything from the 60s-​early 80s Classic Rock. Once you get into 80s rock, he keeps those on the floor level. ex: AC/​DC is in the upper area but Van Halen is on the floor for some reason. Evan loves Genesis with Peter Gabriel and earlier Phil Collins but hates Phil Collins Solo and the later Genesis albums so there is a Genesis section but Phil Collins Solo always seems to be in the bargain bin. There is always stuff to go through in his Bargain area that I should warn you will not move too often so check it about once a month for anything new. If your lucky you can sometimes find great stuff right around the floor in front of the register, these are the records he hasn’t gotten around to sorting out but if they are priced you can talk him into selling them to you. Check around spend time there and if you feel sleepy listening the ambiance Jazz music with the mellow DJ over the Speaker don’t tell Evan about it cause that’s actually him (he plays recordings of his WDNA Radio shows). I buy from thrift stores and other places and even new but I always have to make time for Y&T and to visit Evan and so should everyone else looking for Vinyl.

This hidden shop on the second floor of a small plaza is the go-​to place in the Westchester area for old records. Although it is a bit cramped, and a little dusty, you’re sure to find some gems in here. I bought The Rolling Stones’ Sticky Fingers LP — WITH THE ZIPPER, for about $ 25. You’ll find many records by big name artists from back in the day. The Beatles, David Bowie, Elton John, Led Zeppelin (the place definetely needs more Zeppelin). Also, they have many obscure psychadelic bands from the ‘70s. The owner is extremely friendly, always willing to have a chat, but never gets in your business if you’re just shopping around. They also have many flyers about upcoming events in the area. My only gripe is that they don’t really have anything that was put out after the ‘90s, and you have to climb some slightly dangerous stairs (slippery when wet) in order to get to the store. Other than that, thumbs up!

Hands down the best music/​vinyl store in Miami. The store itself is a very small location but the organization of it all makes it work. They carry all types of music but specialize in 60’s-70’s rock. The pricing is pretty reasonable for condition/​rarity. They also have obscure import cds and have a TON of 45’s in the back in a big filing cabinet. Honestly I go here to find obscure 80’s and early 90’s rap records, I have to sift through the disco albums but always come out with gems. The owner is also VERY knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Just a heads up though call before you go, not sure if it is still the case but on Mondays the store is closed or appointment only.

They have a collection of 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s vinyl. They also have classical records, jazz, and other various types of records.
They also have a great collection of import CD’s, which feature obscure bands, which are amazing.
They specialize in 60s and 70s rock. The owner, Evan, is a fountain of knowledge and can help you find something you like based on whatever other bands you like. I always come away from Yesterday and Today with a new favorite band.
The prices are as fair as they can be. The records are the cheapest I’ve found them, and in the best condition possible. All records are cleaned before put to sale. Some import CD’s can get a bit pricey, but you’re being given the best price possible; these are really rare, and often limited CD’s. Sometimes they’re the last CD’s produced of certain bands. They also have sales about every 6 months, some for even 50% off certain records.
This is a great record store for someone who wants to pick up their favorites, and also for those looking to dive into the world of underground rock.

For music junkies like myself, this is the best record store in Miami. Fair prices on clean vinyl – it’s hard to top that. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable. I go there for the jazz, but their exotica and krautrock selections are unparalleled.
It’s worth signing up for their mailing list to find out about sales. The last time I was in town, I missed a 30 percent off sale by a few days.
