Attended a wine tasting class. It was informative and had a decent selection of wine available. It was fun to learn about the background of each and the speakers were fun and they seemed to genuinely enjoy their time teaching us. Definitely would go back again if I could

We went to Wine by the Bay for a rosé wine tasting. I didn’t know much about rosé or the quality of it in the spectrum of overall wine so I was interested in learning and not to mention tasting.
The environment and décor is perfect. They’re in a great location and they do have some nice out door seating. However, the class is held in the center of the store on a large wooden table. You’re surrounded by paintings and wine I loved it.
The instructors were very knowledgeable and charismatic. The class had a great flow to it. They had some snacks (cheese and chorizo) to follow some of the wines which was great. Definitely something different and nice to do with a group of friends or your partner on a Friday night. Not to mention we left tipsy and with a bottle of wine!

I live in the building where the store is located. I am impressed with their selection and their attentive service! Great to have a liquor store that’s always open!

Went to a wine tasting they were hosting and they were entertaining, knowledgeable, and friendly. We bought a bottle and will return again. Great location as well, right on Biscayne Blvd.

No wonder they are on groupon. The groupon did not include much. The smallest servings of wine and cheese and meat you could imagine.

I absolutely love this place. I have been coming here for the past year and have to say it is ALWAYS great experience.
My boyfriend and I like to try out there different wine tastings and always end up buying a bottle after. The owner Stefano is one of the funniest people you will ever meet. His staff is very knowledgeable about wines and I will be a lifelong customer!

Found this place through a livingsocial deal of two wine tastings for $ 41. We went for the 92+ points wine tasting, retail price of $ 80. This place is a cute boutique store located on biscayne blvd near the ballet opera center and the American air lines center. The tasting started almost 30 min late (like another reviewer had mentioned). It seemed like they had overbooked the tasting. There were 22 people for the tasting while there was only enough room for 10 people at the table. 12 of us had to sit in chairs and hold our glasses the whole time. We didn’t even have access to a dump bucket to pour out wines we didn’t like. I was sitting near a small opening that everyone kept walking by as there was not enough space in the store. We received a sheet of paper for tasting notes but we had to write down all of the names of the wine. It would have been okay but I was sitting too far away from the bottles lined up on the table to be able to write down the names correctly. The hosts Stephen and Liz (sp?) were very informative, and the wines were all pretty smooth. However, the pours were barely anything, and she had forgotten to pass out the salami and cheese until the end… after we had finished the wine (totally defeats the purpose). The noise from the street was distracting as well as the four people that had walked in to browse and buy wines which wouldn’t have been a problem if they had the wine tasting in a separate room not in the actual store. There were also times where she had to yell because there were too many different conversations going on at one time. Overall, it was an expensive wine tasting for an okay experience. It seems like a majority of the problems were related to the size of the group.

Nice place but service was poor. The workers were rude and less friendly towards the «younger» crowd. The workers who did the tasting always poured less wine for the ladies, poured more wine for themselves, and even got seconds for themselves. We are the ones paying for the wine, not for the workers to drinks it all! Each bottle they poured a small amount of wine for the 12 people in our group and still had leftovers in the bottle, and never bothered to ask us if we wanted more– probably to drink the rest for themselves.
I wouldn’t recommend this place, even with the groupon. Owner was even being inappropriate and was hitting on my friend but when denied, he made sarcastic comments about her in front of the group. They could of done a better job at educating beginners about the wine, rather than expecting everyone to be an expert already. As one customer in our group muttered, «Well, we came here to learn…»
Did I mention that they gave us a tiny plate of cut meat? Our whole table of 12 looked at the small slivers of meat and hungrily ate our 1 – 2 slices. So disappointing.

I love this place. Conveniently located near one of my favorite places the American Airlines Arena. This place is a hidden gem. They are a small wine shop with outdoor seating. You can purchase a bottle and sit outdoor and chat with whoever you decide to invite.
I first learned about this place through a search for wine events. I found a groupon for a wine class. It was about two hours and included wine of course! Two ladies led the course and took the patrons through a series of wines in a tour like manner. They had a map with the different regions and explained the origin of each bottle and vineyards.
The owner was present and it was nice to see the company culture because the team seemed very upbeat and friendly. In fact, they were because they even stuck around after to answer questions from the patrons.
The owner offered some wine samples to patrons from his favorites. It’s always nice to feel included when you arrive at an establishment. This location is doing a good job in welcoming their customers to have better retention.
I definitely will return to shop their champagnes for the holidays!

Love this place, came for a Unilocal event and left a much more informed wine enthusiast! Incredible staff, wide variety and unique selection, and very FUN and not intimidating environment. I have a whole new appreciation for wine and can’t wait to come back for another visit and show off my new skills!

Little shysters! Of course, any business that has to rely on Groupon so heavily is obviously a bit worrisome, but I decided to go with the flow and relented when my friends bought a «savings» voucher. For this «savings» voucher we:
1) Started almost half an hour late
2) Suffered through the staff’s non-​witty banter
3) Tried the smallest, smallest sips of normal, everyday wine
4) Had two small slices of meat each (as we had been promised wine and charcuterie)
5) Left $ 20.50 lighter at the end, with which we could have each purchased two bottles of the same quality wine that was poured in, drop by drop, as if it were the elixir of the gods.
Wine tasting is not supposed to be a lucrative event and any place that makes its money from wine tasting, as opposed to the selling of quality wines themselves, is all flash and no substance.

My fiancé and I tried a wine tasting, White Wines of Italy, last night at Wine By the Bay. We absolutely loved the entire experience! We arrived nearly an hour early, so passing the time by killing a bottle seemed appropriate. Kasey helped us choose a chilled bottle of sparkling wine. We took a seat outside and she came out to pop, pour, and ice it for us. It was a beautiful evening to sit on the couch outside and people watch. Stefano, the owner, came out to chat and speak a little Italian with my fiancé, who jumps at the chance to practice. We thoroughly enjoyed his company :)
We then went inside to start the wine tasting. We had a little lesson in evaluating wines– swirling, smelling, and observing. We definitely walked away with some new pearls of wine wisdom! We enjoyed all the wines (8, I think) and ended up purchasing a bottle of our favorite. We will be back for sure for another tasting in the future, and are considering booking a private event the night before our wedding!

I love to drink wine, I love to eat food made with wine and, most importantly, I love to learn about wine… Enter Wine By the Bay!
I first came to Wine By the Bay to experience a class with my friend. Not only was it the ideal happy hour after a harsh humpday at work, I felt like I walked away with a better knowledge of the French wines we tried, technique on how to properly taste wine, and a little tipsy. We tried about eight bottles (an extra one was spontaneously added to the mix by the owner Stefano about midway through). During the class, you’re given a sheet for jotting down tasting notes so you can remember what you thought about each one. This is important because by the fifth, you’ll start having a tough time remembering. To balance your vino intake (trust me, the small sips add up fast), they served us a little meat and cheese (but there’s a pizza shop right next door that I saw a handful of people hit up afterwards).
After that, I was smitten and it didn’t take me too long to come back. This time, they had more food from a restaurant across the street that has since closed. What didn’t change? The great journey that the leaders took us on as we sipped a wide variety of different wines. With classes offered on most days of the week, every day the topic changes and they really touch on regions spanning the globe and bottles at a wide variety of price points.
It’s wise to be placed on their mailing list which sends exclusive «VIP» invitations to more events outside these regular classes like private dinners with wine pairings and special guest tastings from some of the world’s most notorious vineyards.
Usually when I’m there, I’ll buy a bottle on the shop’s recommendation (usually one that was a favorite of mine during the class). One thing that really sets this place apart is the staff making it all run. The owner Stefano is one of the friendliest people while his team (Liz, Kasey, Stephen) are experts in their field and always up to explain wine, talk about wine and, of course, drink wine!
Truly a downtown gem worthy of its five star rating!

Purchased this groupon deal to surprise my girlfriend on her 26^th birthday. She loved it, and I have to admit I did too! Learned a lot about Italian wines and had a really good time. The owner Stefano was hilarious and both girls were great. It was a bit busy in the store at first and the staff seemed distracted, but it’s a small store and people who weren’t there for the tasting came in to purchase wine. They should perhaps figure out a system to not have those transactions deter the experience of the wine tasters, but overall the experience was amazing for the value! We will definitely be back to taste other countries and maybe even to just pick up some wine for no special occasion.

A few months ago I purchased a wine tasting voucher from Groupon to Wine by the Bay. Last night my BF and I decided it was time we finally used it. We picked this night in particular because they were showcasing the Pinot Noirs from around the world. This was a perfect date night!
We arrived about 5 minutes late, which wasn’t an issue because the Miami traffic was making others late as well. We sat at a table surrounded by other couples. I liked this… made it cozier. We were given our own glasses and a sheet to take notes about each of the wines we were tasting. The ladies teaching the class arrived and the fun began. These ladies were very knowledgeable and were able to answer questions without hesitation. The wines were delicious, great choices!
I would definitely go there again for a wine tasting or to do a little shopping based on their recommendations.

I’ve been to 3 wine tasting events at Wine By the Bay and had a wonderful time at each one. It’s always entertaining and informative with a nice selection of wines included. Prices in the store are very reasonable for high quality wines and the atmosphere is pleasantly relaxed.
I highly recommend starting with a wine tasting — you’ll have a great time while learning more about wine.

WBTB specializes in hard to find mid to high priced bottles from all over the world. You won’t find any sale stickers here. The owner is very friendly and willing to share his knowledge. He gave some good recommendations as we were looking to buy a nice $ 80 bottle as a gift.
Expect to pay about 20% more than you might pay online or at a liquor store, but if you’re not exactly a wine connoisseur like me and need to be steered in the right direction, it’s worth it. We got a free lesson in Bordeaux. The Spaetburgunder bottle we picked up for our own consumption was awesome. What a nice recommendation.
Apparently they also do free wine tastings on Friday nights, that might be fun to check out.

Stephano and Steven, along with the lovely wine godesses, have passion and knowledge of every single bottle in the store, as well as a genuine love and enthusiasm for every person who walks in the door, making Wine by the Bay so much more than a store. It’s a home away from home, a gathering place for friends, and a perfect place for a date, or a little pre-​game before heading to the arena.
Even on nights without a scheduled wine tasting (which I highly recommend!) There is usually a small gathering of regulars passing bottles and simply enjoying the camaraderie of those with a shared passion. No snobs, no pretension, Stephano and his staff make you feel like you just walked into a dear friends living room, and please, pull up a chair and have a drink! You can order the cheese, chocolates, or caviar to accompany your bottle of choice, enjoy the ambience, and make new friends. It’s a perfect informal gathering place and my personal favorite watering hole, bar none!
