Well of Ancient Mysteries

The only thing I find more interesting than specters, ancient knowledge and the occult is anything relating to pre-​history and the lost continent of Atlantis.
Browsing news articles as I usually do every evening, I happen to come across a yahoo article relating to a dude named Ishmael Bermudez who owns a 0.1-acre of prime real estate in the Miami Brickell area. What was interesting was he is refusing to sell his property even though he’s being offered $ 2,000,000 from commercial developers.
But what really intrigued me was why he wasn’t selling!
Ishmael Bermudez is a Colombian but is descended from Navajo’s and Pueblo’s Indians by way of his American soldier father. He is also known by his Native American name Golden Eagle.
Mr Bermudez has been excavating his property for more than half a century, the project has been his life’s work. He’s found some of the most fascinating things such as arrowheads, artifacts and «mysterious holes carved into the bedrock».
But he also claims to have found something even more captivating and controversial.
When Mr Bermudez was a youth one of his elementary school teachers challenged him to find an ancient Taquesta spring that they drank from before they escaped colonization. He then started digging in the backyard of his house.
Mr. Bermudez had been digging for years looking for this fountain with no luck until he met an elderly Seminole woman named Queenie who lived in the old aged home across the street. Queenie informed him of the legend of an ancient spring marked by a tall tree, he was then inspired to keep looking.
He eventually had found his spring, he named his discovery the Well of Ancient Mysteries.
The particulars of the springs finding lead Queenie to theorize that before Natives fled to escape Spanish settlers they cut down the tall cypress tree to erase the spring’s location marker. Then they inserted the limestone cork and planted a mango tree on top of the spring to hide the freshwater source.
In 1980, during the Mariel boat lift, thousands of Cuban refugees arrived and temporarily lived in a «tent city» under an Interstate 95 overpass, just three blocks west of Mr Bermudez’s house. Knowledge of the nearby spring eventually reached the encampment. Refugees walked over at night seeking water, and Ishmael filled their buckets with water for drinking and bathing. Then something odd began to transpire, some of those same people started arriving with sick babies and ailing relatives, seeking to be cured by his sacred water.
The Cuban refugees weren’t the only ones to venerate Ishmael’s spring. A group of Haitians dropped off a set of wooden figurines to help protect Miami from storms. Parolees came to be spiritually cleansed.
People began to leave all kind of offerings: money, skulls, diamonds, rubies, gold. A Native American named Condor dropped off a large crystal after it spent several years being carried around the world to various sacred sites absorbing energy.
Outside of this spring Mr Bermudez also claims to have dug up prehistoric animal skulls and ancient humanoids.
I think this place is a perfect tourist destination, whether you are a historian, have interest in archaeology, the paranormal, a spiritualist or you just want to take some selfies (this place is loaded with paintings), it would make a nice trip.
