What a wonderful fabric store! Was the only place I could find the type of foam my dad was looking for. Brenda is the owner and went out of her way to be accommodating.

First time coming to ultra and it was great. Jorge was extremely helpful and the prices are amazing. Definitely coming back. Thank you Jorge until next time.

The staff is helpful and friendly – seems like a family business. And, while the older staff does not seem to speak English, the younger ones do. Nice selection of fabric and trim.

Thought this place would be some cool fabric store. That would have fabrics I couldn’t find online. I was WRONG! They had a lot of fabric don’t get me wrong but they charge A LOT compared to what I can find online. The customer service was meh. They looked at me like I didnt belong there.
I rather go to Jo Ann’s at least they have coupons.

3 star for the prices but the fabric selection is fairly good. Somehow the prices on the fabric bolt ended up being different from what I jotted down, not sure if this was an error on my part or I was incorrectly quoted the wrong price. Some of the same lace that they carry you can get cheaper if you go downtown. I was impressed by the quality fabric, not too impressed with the prices.

They have a very large selection of fabrics but some are quite pricey. You can find good deals here but I ended up spending about $ 20 on 1.5 yards of lycra (it was beautiful but ehhh). Only reason I was okay with spending that much was cause I was preparing my outfit for the lady gaga concert: P
All in all. There aren’t many fabric stores in Miami so you might as well Check it out.

I visited this fabric store to purchase a roll of sewing thread. As I went to pay my $ 3.00 total and gave my debit card, I was told that it was cash only for transactions less than $ 5.00. This is completely illegal and not allowed, but some merchants decide they don’t want to pay a percentage of small transactions and set forth these random rules. The employee had the audacity to ask me if I needed anything else to meet the $ 5.00 minimum. I said no thank you and walked out.
If she was at all concerned about customer service, she would have completed the sale, but she obviously didn’t need the business. Needless to say, I will not be returning.
**If one were to call the credit card merchant service provider and complain about this, the business gets penalized because this is in violation of their contract. If they get reported enough, they will get kicked off.**

I read these great reviews and decided to take the (long) adventure to check them out. They’re okay but not amazing. They have a lot of upholstery fabric, but I was in there for apparel fabric. They have a lot of basic fabrics in varying colors (think a satin in periwinkle or a chiffon in lime) and some fancy laces and taffetas. If you’re looking for that, I would check this place out. But honestly, I stood there looking at fabric, thinking about how it would be less expensive at Joann’s for similar quality. I would definitely stop by and give this place a chance, but it’s definitely not a huge store with a lot of selection or fabulous prices – I wasn’t blown away.

I have been driving by this place for years but had never ventured in. I was in desperate need of black lace (with a specific width) for invitations I am making. Of course, Joann’s ran out of it. I wasnt about to go on a wild goose chase looking for it so I decided to try this place since its right by my office. The reviews here are kind of mixed, but I didnt care, I needed the lace! This place looks smaller from the outside but its pretty big and they have TONS AND TONS of fabric. For all tastes and styles. I glanced at the prices and they seemed reasonable. Anyways, I found almost the identical lace that I had bought at Joann’s and the price was better. The guy who helped me even figured out for me exactly how much lace I would need for the invitations. Everyone seems helpful here and I certainly prefer to shop at family owned small businesses than chains like Joann’s. I am a novice sewer and a huge DIYer so I will definitley be returning to Ultra Fabrics.

This is my favorite place to go to for fabric in Miami. The entire store is wall to wall fabric and very little else. There is so much variety of fabric, texture, pattern and color. The staff is also very friendly, knowledgeable and bilingual.

this place is fine, the selection is more geared towards those extravagant looking curtain fabrics. yes, its kinda run by snooty old ladies who spend the day gossiping and probably make fun of girls who don’t wear make-​up (me). I would rather go somewhere else. but its okay in a pinch.

This place has a pretty great selection of fabrics and the prices are reasonable, but I refuse to give Ultra a better rating because their customer service BLOWS.
The first time that I went, I figured I just caught the staff on a bad day, because really, I’ve never met a person that didn’t respond at least a teensy weensie bit to a smile and a friendly greeting. (I wasn’t expecting a lasting friendship… but a ‘hello’ or a ‘you’re welcome’ would have been fantastic.) Then, there was my second visit, where the staff practically ignored the fact that my friend and I were waiting to be helped for twenty minutes. Finally, there was my third visit with my adorable, lovable grandma who tried to strike up a conversation with the woman that was helping us. Pointless effort. The staff seems to constantly be having inner turmoil that prevents them from acknowledging your hellos and thank-​yous. Or they think they’re some sort of elite group of people and that you are not worthy of their time. Or all their menstrual cycles/​menopausal symptoms have synced up. Who knows what the real reason may be.
Bump all that noise. I’ll try another fabric store next time. Rude people will not be receiving any more of my money.
