The Spa at Conrad Miami

The Tropical Fruit Facial and Swedish Massage were spot on. Both were done very professionally and left me feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. That’s pretty much my goal for those treatments so I was happy. Daniel (or Danny maybe) was a fantastic masseuse. My friend also did the same facial/​massage special and we both agreed it was totally worth while.
The spa itself is alright. I think they could throw a little more zen into the lounge area, and the changing area is really just a locker room, again with no true spa like feeling. The accommodations in there were good though for needing to get showered and changed. Getting to the spa (or your hotel room) in this hotel is awkward. It takes 2 different elevators to get there. And if you want to go to the pool, that’s across the way in a whole different building/​on top of the parking garage.

DO NOT GET A WAX HERE! Unless you want to be tugged at repeatedly and tortured, do not come here for a wax. First the spa signed me up for a bikini wax instead of a Brazilian, so they had an amateur waxing me who had NO clue what she was doing. Although she was a sweetheart and did her best to make me comfortable, the wax they use doesn’t remove hair! We had to continuously use oil to remove the wax that was stuck and she kept putting soothing lotion on which only made it worse. It was a pure hour of HELL. I was there for over an hour and she didn’t even finish the job! I left feeling abused, and completely defeated, all for nothing. I ended up going to the UnikWax in Mary Brickell Village, who finished it up quickly and flawlessly. Don’t waste your time or money at the Conrad Spa.

This was by far the best birthday gift I received.
Going up there is like going up to heaven. I admit, I was a little lost with the elevator situation, which drops you on one floor, and then you have to get another one… but honestly: I tend to get lost in way less complicated situations anyways; and second, it has nothing to do with the Spa. Once you walk out of that elevator and into the spa all worries fade…
The staff is friendly, attentive and skilled, and the ambiance is perfect, dimly lit and quiet, just as prescribed by my doctor. Everything is clean and smells like bliss. The shower and locker area is spacious, and don’t you worry about a thing when it comes to amenities and female needs, they’ve got every possibility covered.
I LOVED the massage waiting area. Nothing relaxes me more than a small, dimly lit room with comfy chairs, magazines and delicious raspberry water to sip. There was someone else in there waiting and although my brain wanted to socialize, my facial muscles and vocal cords refused to move one inch. Oh well. I’m not perfect.
The massage was beyond spectacular. I really liked the fact that they had different oils better suited to your mood. This was a first for me when it comes to spa experiences and definitely a plus. Needless to say I was reluctant to leave the table when she finished.
My facial skin is fairly uncomplicated, so I had a simple yet delicious facial, followed by a full manicure and pedicure which I absolutely loved. Fortunately by now my muscles were back in the game and I was able to be more social with Andrea, a very nice lady who took care of my nail needs like a pro. I ended the day with a bubbly glass and a strawberry, courtesy of their awesome manager, David, for my birthday.
I left so relaxed the rest of the day is a blur… just as prescribed by my doctor.

SYNOPSIS: DO NOT GET NAIL SERVICES HERE. The manicurist CUT me and proceeded to polish my nails without apologizing or disinfecting the cut. Manager tried to appease me by offering the give me comp drinks and not charging me for a horrible manicure.
The GOOD: massage. Ask for Nadege, extremely friendly and communicates throughout to see how you’re doing. She had strong firm hands and was perfect and would adjust according to my needs.
She is the only reason I am giving a star, otherwise my experience was extremely disappointing and UNSAFE.
The UGLY & HORRIBLE: UNSANITARY nail services and management ill equipped to handle urgent customer issues i.e. your employee cuts a customer. Think twice before you get a mani pedi here.
This is my second time at the conrad spa. My first time, my husband and I got a massage which were okay. This past weekend my friend was in town and I really wanted to treat her to a spa day. I made an appointment which was easy to do. While my friend got a massage (they couldn’t accommodate our massages at the same time) I decided to get a mani pedi.
Andrea was the manicurist and she first did my pedicure. I noticed that when she applies polish to my toes she was super careless (reminiscent of watching a child struggling to paint inside the box) and the polish was going all over my skin. Then she spent 5 minutes going back to clean up all the mess she made. I figured, ok maybe she’s new to this. I’m EXTREMELY patient when it comes to these things because I’ve been in a service industry before and I know how painful it is to have demanding customers.
Then we started my manicure. I noticed the towel on the table had cut nails from PREVIOUS customer who had sat there. Again, disgusted and annoyed, but I didn’t complain.
While painting the nails, i asked her to cut a hang nail she missed. This is when she cut it and then carelessly cut deeper into the cuticle and I felt a SHARP pain. I immediately looked down and saw my thumb start to bleed.
I calmly said, «um.if think I’m bleeding» to which Andrea calmly responds «yes, because I cut too deep»
…okay. I thought, she’s trying to keep her cool. For sure she will reach for the sanitizer.
WRONG.
She continues to paint my thumb with the nail polish in the same careless way she did my toes. And by now my cuticle is obviously bleeding but my polish is red so you can’t tell how deep she had cut me. Then she spent 5 minutes again trying to go over each finger to clean up all the Polish stains that were on my fingers.
NO SANITIZER. No apology. No sense of remorse. Contaminating the nail polish with my blood.
When I walked out the supervisor asked me how everything went so I immediately told her about what happened. She apologized and said she will speak to the spa manager. I figured the manager will understand the depth of the situation and come.
WRONG Again.
The supervisor comes back, «I’m so sorry again. I spoke to the manager and we won’t be charging you for the manicure»
Are you serious? Of course you won’t charge me for a horrible experience where I was INJURED. The manager clearly didn’t grasp the gravity of the situation. When I said that I am concerned about the sanitary conditions of all tools used here and who is to say that I didn’t get an infection??? She then says she will see what she can do.
Few minutes later this guy comes, David, the spa manager, finally showing up to apologize and that he will speak to the employee. He looks at my finger and agrees that she cut too deep. He offers free drinks upstairs and no charge for the service. I said no thanks, I am more concerned about the sanitary condition here and I asked him to please throw out the nail polish that is now contaminated. He then finally brought me some cleansing wipes to clean my finger. AFTER 15 MINUTES OF MY INJURY.
When i left they didn’t charge me for the nail service and gave me a body scrub worth $ 22 for my «inconvenience».
Is this really the 5 star service offered at the conrad? Technical ability is one thing but to have a very dangerous situation where safety is concerned this is unacceptable.
Some of you may think what is the big deal, grow up. If you think about how many people these manicure tools touch and the potential diseases that you can be prone to, you realize the gravity of the situation.
The employee acted as tho this happened all the time and showed no remorse for injuring me and clearly wasn’t properly trained on how to handle these situations.
And the manager was worse, treating the situation as if my aim was to get freebies. Service recovery is MORE important than the actual service for service based businesses. Who’s to say that I won’t report this to the dept of health?

I love this spa! My friends and I went for a girl’s spa day and we had their Pumpkin Patch special, which is a 50 min facial and 50 min Swedish Massage for $ 159. Their products smell so delicious, I wanted to eat them haha. The staff were all super nice and friendly and the facility was very clean and relaxing. Definitely recommend it

Be careful.
Massage was great but facials are terrible and bad for your skin.
They use rough towels to scrub your face and will scratch your skin under the eyes and on cheekbones. Not only will it cause wrinkles, it will cause your skin to become susceptible to sun burn and major skin issues later on.

Sponteneously decided to get a massage around 4:30pm on a Saturday. They said that they could fit us in before they closed. We got separate Swedish massages, I think for about 45−60min each, and they were definitely worth the $ 300 for both (included tip). My masseuse even massaged my scalp and feet and would ask periodically if I was ok.
When the massage is complete, they have tea waiting for you in a separate room and you are directed to the shower where you have a sauna and large locker room. You also get to use the gym/​pool/​and other facilities on Level 21. I’d suggest having a massage mid-​morning or early afternoon to enjoy the Conrad by day.
Only minor snafu was that it was our first time there. We walked into the lobby and asked the concierge where the spa was. She pointed us to the other building where the pool and gym were, not the spa! We returned to the lobby and she apologized.
Check to see if they offer complimentary valet parking. I paid for street parking, but should have checked valet out.
