Tamarina Restaurant & Bar

One of my favorite place in Brickell.
Charming atmosphere, live music and Italian food. Me and my date had a drink at the bar and end up staying for the entire dinner.

So I had a bit of a different experience than typical at Tamarina. I went for the Easter brunch and wasn’t really blown away by the experience. My friends actually made the reservation, so I went in blind and didn’t realize that it was going to be a buffet-​style meal.
When we got there, the place was pretty full, but our group of 8 got placed right in the middle of the dining room in this little booth with the table way too close. There were four of us in the booth, but every time that we looked to get up, we would have to squeeze our way out. They definitely placed way too many people in the restaurant so they were trying to make as much room as possible.
As for the food, we started off with a charcuterie bar with cured meats, cheeses, and breads which were pretty good, but that was about a quarter of the whole meal! The rest of the buffet was an omelet bar (which always had a long line) or a tapas-​style buffet where you could only get small plates. The actual flavor of the food was pretty good, but with the lack of maneuverability or room, it was more of a hassle than anything trying to get more food.
Overall, the atmosphere was cramped, the food was passable, the service was non-​existent, and the meal was overpriced ($ 45 per person, not including drinks). I’d be willing to give Tamarina another shot, but I’ll need a few months before I step back in the door.

Speechless that’s how I felt leaving Tamarina Miami. The cuisine was excellent, the service, and let’s not skip the best part… The dessert. OMG I am coming back. I highly recommend this place for a nice date.

So we used to come frequently to Tamarina when it first opened in Brickell around a year ago. It was always very nice to enjoy a negroni with some oysters by the bar. Bartenders were very entertaining and managers were friendly even though this restaurant has a sophisticated ambiance. I think Wednesdays used to be jazz night a while ago.
We haven’t been able to go in a few months so when we had sometime on Christmas eve to go for a walk in town we decided to revisit one of our favorite places in Brickell.
It was a pleasant surprise to see a trio playing live music by the bar area. I was glad to find out they have live music more frequently nowadays and also added brunch on Sundays (45 $pp with live music). However, I am sad to say that the experience on this night was completely different than other times. The restaurant was almost empty and the customer service was definitely lacking. Bartenders were all to themselves and several managers walked the restaurant multiple times ignoring us every time they passed by us. I remembered when they first opened, less than a year ago, we used to love coming here because it was a beautiful place with fiend l staff who made us feel special no matter how big or small was our bill. Sometimes we had dinner other times just drinks and small plates.
On this night, we just got amazing music so we decided to make it short but not ordering anything else and go end the night somewhere else.
Perhaps the upscale vibe took priority over the great service. We almost felt like outsiders in an elite only place. Hopefully, that is not the case on a regular basis and it was just an off night, just too bad it was on a holiday.
Beautiful restaurant in the middle of Brickell with a great live music but unfortunately it seems to be getting a bit too pretentious…

My wife order the winter salad, they throw some duck on it and very old lettuce not fresh at all
I order the lamb, it look terrible and no flavor at all. It came with a certain type of eggplant salad very salty. As a side I order sprouts that came swimming in butter and a lot of uncooked bacon, disgusting
We didn’t want to take the risk of desert
The service was ok, i would tip about 18% but I hate when they do it automatically

Stellar experience! Third time visiting and consistently great! The live music was so soulful we got up and danced!!!
From the brilliantly engineered wine and spirits list, oyster/​crudo bar to the handmade pastas and Kobe beef all the way through to the artful dessert selection!
Tamarina delivers refined elegance and glamor without seeming pretentious. A difficult task, but this place knows what they’re doing!

This place is terrible. I wouldn’t doubt if this place closes within six months to a year. The service is awful. But this is commonly the norm in Miami where the tip is included in the bill. We started with three different appetizers including the burrata, the beet salad and the Crudo for two. The beet salad and the burrata were decent but steer clear of the Crudo. I had the turbot for dinner which was extremely bland and left a lot to be desired. The price of $ 42 seems extravagant for such an unsatisfying entrée. I think the only thing that this place excels at is desert. We had the chocolate fundante which really was quite good.

Must say the place is beautiful, ambiance great, waiter Ryan great… Food not so good, definitely not worth the price… Asked for a bottle of wine then they said it was no longer available and the comparable was 35 dollars more, we were told it was a mistake on the menu… When my friends told the waiter the risotto was very salty… Francesco the general manager brought a 3^rd risotto just as salty or more and said we were wasting a perfectly good risotto… Very disappointing… Thanks to franchesco and his arrogance and cockiness I won’t be going back…

Was here for a HH on Friday with a friend, and I have to say… I likey. Two dragoncellos later, and I was definitely a happy camper. Their prosciutto wrapped breadsticks, fried calamari, and ersters (oysters, for those of you who cannot channel your inner Harry Connick, Jr.) were delicious. Friday night was a rainy night, so the HH crowd was a little on the light side. That said, service, food and drink were great. I’m a fan.

Celebrated the New Year here, great food, wonderful and attentive service, great atmosphere. Recommend this hidden gem.

T review gets an extra star solely because of the service. They were accommodating and attentive to our party all night. I originally booked for 6 and had to change for 8. The ambiance was relaxed and pleasant-​exactly what we were looking for.
We ordered cocktails-​which I could barely taste the vodka in my vodka soda and wine. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable and assisted with our choice of a few bottles.
For starters we ordered Burrata, the Tartar Trio, Grilled Octopus w artichoke, Beet Salad with goat cheese and the Earth Salad. VERY SMALL PORTIONS of each-​at $ 15-​$ 20 each you would expect a bit more. Of these I recommend the Beet Salad and Grilled Octopus for their flavors.
We had the Tiger Prawns and truffle ravioli for dinner and it was very disappointing. Extremely small portion and high price for an underwhelming flavor. $ 60 and $ 25 a plate.
We opted out of dessert based on dinner.

On the way to a meeting inside the 600 Brickell Ave building, my associate and I arrived early enough to enjoy a wonderful lunch at Tamarina Bar & Restaurant. We only had 45 minutes to spare for lunch… and the staff took that to heart. We were served our lunch within 10 minutes and had enough time to even have an after lunch cafecito before heading to our meeting upstairs.
The food was excellent. The bread they serve once you arrive is very tasty. For lunch I had the Spinach Ravioli. It was wonderful and light. I have found a new place to add to my Brickell rotation.
Add Tamarina to your list of go to places for lunch or dinner in Brickell. You’ll thank me later.

I went for a Sunday brunch. Expensive but prosciutto and cheese are yummy! Some of the hot dishes were cold though. Nice environment.

I have no idea why this place had great reviews.
I came with a large party for my friends birthday on Saturday.
I got there early with my husband so we decided to go have a drink at the bar. I asked (THE ONLY MAN BEHIND THE BAR) for a glass of their moscato, he looked at me confused and said no, no moscato. This threw me off because this is an Italian restaurant how do you not have a bottle of moscato in the wall of wine you have displayed when you walk in? I took his word for it and asked him, what sweet wine he could recommend me? It was as if I asked him to name every president ever elected in american and their kids. He just stared at me and said okay and left the bar. 5 minutes later he came back with a woman who said we do have moscato, he is not a bar tender and served me a glass.
The moscato was GREAT!
I asked for a second glass but the bottle had ran out giving me only half a glass. She said they ran out of moscato and that glass is on the house. Nice.
We finally get seated with my friends and everyone is ordering their drinks the birthday girl orders a glass of moscato in which i tell her I don’t think they have anymore. WELL OF course they have more and brought her and two other woman at my table a glass. How silly of me to trust the word of a lazy bartender.
The menu is not the menu you see on their website FYI. Basically everything was ricotta. I hate ricotta and asked can I have just regular fettuccini with your parmesan fondue. Sure he said. Great can you add chicken or shrimp, NOPE. and he walks away. When all the plates came out all of us looked at each other and thought this is less than a kids portion.
My pasta was good average. I stayed hungry
My friends pastas in rage sauce was strong and not very good.
Another friend ordered ravioli it was maybe 5 tiny pouches of ravioli.
My husbands 10 oz steak was still alive and more like 6 oz his sides were the plate decoratives.
Still hungry and from what i saw on Unilocal the snickers dessert looked soo delicious. Well what i saw online is not what i got.
Snickers desert was good though, but maybe i was just so hungry?

10 oz steak $ 39
Snickers dessert $ 15
$ 132 includes 18% gratuidity PLUS $ 10 Valet … so $ 142 and we still stopped somewhere to grab food because we left hungry.
Overall overpriced go somewhere else for Italian food. Im Sure you can get shrimp or chicken with your pasta for less that 35 dollars and its a bigger bowl.

What a place, I insisted on taking a kitchen bar seat and it paid off, great food and amazing talent. Minor was my chef and he made an amazing tuna tartare with caviar and crème fraîche and grilled octopus (two appetizers my rule). wine was amazing too but their food is certainly something to come back too and isn’t that the most important thing???

Tamarina is a pricey but relaxed Italian restaurant with a variety of tasty, unusual offerings in a pleasant setting with wonderful service.
I like the veal milanese, grilled octopus, spinach ravioli, Chilean sea bass, and the shrimp carpaccio. My boyfriend prefers the beef carpaccio and the linguini lobster.
All the desserts are yummy, but I like the key lime torta and the bomboloni best.
Definitely call for reservations well in advance because Tamarina gets crowded quickly.

Glamorous décor, elegant yet relaxed atmosphere, top notch service, fresh and delicious raw bar and fish dishes, and authentic pastas and risottos!
The bar and wine list are extensive and the cocktails are creative and well balanced, they have 5 different types of negronis!!!
Overall one of my absolute favorite places in Miami!
Five stars all the way!

Sexy place; good — not great — food. Filet mignon came out bit too charred, and the chocolate cake was a tiny bit on the dry side.
Good music and great space.

This place is right across the street from my apartment. It is decorated very beautifully and has a nice outdoor space. We came here for dinner with friends of ours.
Shrimp carpaccio– was so delicate and tasty
Lamb ragu pasta– husband thought it was good, but not out of this world, he also states that it might be potential that lamb ragu does not highlight the flavor of lamb well
Lobster pasta– This was very flavorful, slightly spicy kick with soft, perfectly cooked lobster, I’m usually not a arrabiata/​marinara fan, and I really enjoyed this dish.
It is a pretty classy establishment, would venture here again when we feel like looking sexy

Tamarina, Miami
LOCATION
South of the Miami River, on Brickell Ave., in Miami downtown. It doesn’t get more central than this, if you don’t want to venture off the beaten paths.
ATMOSPHERE-​DECOR
Beautiful place, visually speaking. It spells upscale all over and it has also a very large outdoor area to enjoy the meal. Both my wife and I loved the type of music there: it was some sort of downtempo music, beats ranged from middle-​east to Africa to Mediterranean to jazz. It made for a very nice, urban, atmosphere. Lovely décor inside and by the bar.
SERVICE
I have to admit: you hear all the times about the bad service in Miami, but I don’t know, lately, I have been pretty lucky, and for lately I mean in recent years. Nothing we could complain about here: everything was served in timely manner, without rushing. The waiter explained to us the different type of fresh oysters and was very helpful, polite and professional.
FOOD
Food is not exactly cheap here, but come on, you are in downtown of one of the major American cities, the place is really well planned, clean and the food is pretty good.
We did enjoy the fresh oysters; first we had a round of 1 per kind just to taste, then we order a few more of the ones we liked better. I remember we liked the blue point and another kind, but ask the waiter, they have a Japanese sounding name.
The Chilean sea bass was very good, delicate. And the tagliatelle Bolognese weren’t bad either, they were actually well done, not overcooked, with some good chunks of meat.
Food seemed to be cooked on a lighter side here, meaning they don’t put a lot of dressing and sauces, which is great in my opinion. You actually taste the food, not the dressing.
VALUE
While you cannot call this place cheap, the value is still pretty good. Prices are reasonable if you add (as you should when evaluating value) the quality of the food, the ambiance, the location and why not, the service, which was very good during our visit.
Final comment
We will be there again! There’s so much on the menu that we still want to try and if our first visit was a good indication of this restaurant’s quality, then we are onto something nice here.

Gorgeous décor, attentive service, fresh and delicious food. The presentation is a foreplay for your eyes and the taste moves you forward to the G spot :)
This place reminds me of some of the great restaurants in Las Vegas. Hooray for Miami, we are really starting to make a mark on the map with all the great restaurants of down town and the design district. Highly recommend this place.

I completely love this place! Just went last night for my birthday dinner with friends and family and we enjoyed for three hours. Customer service is great, however they were a little slow in some occasions. Overall, the food was delicious and portion control. If you are a big eater and expecting a huge plate then this place is not for you. The prices are a little expensive but the food is worth it. I recommend it for large groups and even as a date. The decoration is very clean and elegant. I loved the ambience!

I’ve been to Tamarina on several occasions and never have left disappointed. On our last visit, we were seated promptly. The night was beautiful which is rare in Miami so we opted to dine outside.
At first, our waiter welcomed us with a complementary selection of breads. I ordered the beet salad to start which was perfection followed by the Snapper in Brodo which was juicy and rich in flavor. Their dessert selection is my favorite part of this restaurant. All the desserts I’ve tried deserve 5 stars — bomboloni, the key lime torta, snikers, and cioccolato fondente. Therefore, I commend them on such delicious desserts.
Tamarina offers a laid back atmosphere and I noticed that a mature crowd was present at dinner time. Overall, Tamarina brings an upscale dinning experience to Brickell with high quality food. If you are looking for a place with innovative dinning items, this place won’t rock your world.

I think we need higher star ratings; especially for this place. The location, the ambiance, the interior design are top of the line. Extremely well thought out in
terms of layout and design. The outdoor seating has amazing views of all the surrounding high rises and the palm trees in the courtyard. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting, with high ceilings, dark wood walls and exceptional lighting.
Our entire dining experience was beautiful and very enjoyable. We spent almost 5 hours there, so that says something. From the apertivs and appetizers to the double espresso at the end of our meal; it was relaxing, most enjoyable and definitely somewhere to go again and again.
We ordered the salmon tartar, the tuna tartar, and the crudo platter. The tartars’ were so fresh you could taste the ocean and the crudo was beautifully presented and also very fresh and delicious.
Our main dishes were varied and mouth watering; even as im writing this. I ordered the scallops, we also ordered the pomodoro fresco, the chilean sea bass and the linguine lobster. Everything was prepared to perfection and exquisite. The scallops were plump, juicy and heavenly, seared perfectly on the outside. Everyone else also stated that the flavors were savory and delectable.
Everyone there is very polite, attentative and knowledgable. My only regret is not being able to go there during happy hour but it is definitely on my to do list this week.

I suppose it’s closer to a 3.5, but since the main attraction was lackluster (the entrees) I have to go with 3 stars because I am not eager to return. I was SO excited to visit the restaurant. We were a party of 6 and ended up here on my suggestion. To be fair, four of us felt it was just OK, the other couple liked it more than we did.
We were seated immediately upon arrival. Valet parking is available. You have to turn up the ramp and the restaurant will then be on your right hand side. The interior design is incredible and right out of a magazine spread. Stunning, elegant, and oozing the WOW factor. Service was great. Our waitress did a phenomenal job keeping up with our madness (with grace and a smile): lots of fast overlapping chatter, laughs, and rowdiness on our part.
Prosciutto di Parma– good
Blue Point Oysters– good, loved the presentation on the wooden bowl.
Octopus Carpaccio– we realized too late that we had ordered the grilled octopus. They brought the carpaccio instead. Didn’t say anything since it was mostly gone by then. It was OK.
Tonno– Odd. I had never seen tuna look so raw and be so hot? Luckily, this was not my dish.
Linguine Lobster– It photographs better than it tasted. The lobster on top was just an empty carcass. Not too much lobster in my pasta and again, just OK.
Bolognese– simple, OK
Mushroom Risotto– this was perhaps the best dish of the night, but not by far. If I compare it with the same dish at Casa D’ Angelo in Ft. Lauderdale it pales in comparison. Something else that was odd, the truffle was not shaved on the spot but already came topped on.
Chilean Sea Bass– good
Bomboloni– good
Crèma Caramellata– excellent
Key Lime Torta di Ricotta– great
Latte Dolce– excellent
Snickers– excellent
I feel like there is a lot of room for improvement at Tamarina when it comes to the main entrees. The entrees weren’t bad, they just weren’t memorable. Whoever the pastry chef is, however, seems to be way ahead of the game. His/​her presentation, execution of each one is up to par with some of the best desserts I’ve ever had. I don’t remember the names of the cocktails we had (because we had them at the end after too much wine), but DO remember they were very strong and mixed perfectly. The bar area seems like a great spot for too!
Tamarina is very new so perhaps I will return mid year in 2015 and give them another shot. For now, they need to turn up the heat in that kitchen so they can have a winning spot! Miami in general is FINALLY really excelling with some phenomenal cuisine. There is no room for «just OK.»

I loved every single dish I’ve tried. Definitely try as much of the crudo bar as you can, enjoy the Chilean Sea Bass (here, done like nowhere else), and try the Locations Corse Vermentino wine — it’s delightful. Lastly, do not miss their Tiramisu — served bombe style and accompanied by espresso gelee and gold leaf.
Perfect for a romantic dinner, group outing or any special occasion. But, don’t let the swank décor keep you away — go anytime, and treat yourself to something special.

Je suis allé manger hier, avec mes parents et ma grand mère pour notre souper de réveillon. L’ambiance était superbe, le service était aussi géniale! Un employer parlait français et a pu nous expliquer mieux le menu, grande variété de fruit de mer, nous avons pris plusieurs entre à partager pour débuter, et tout étaient très bon ! Le filet mignon était plus que génial et tout la famille à apprécié son repas, restaurant qui peut plaire pour tous les âges même les enfants car ils ont une belle quantité de choix de pâtes. L’endroit était génial rien a redire cest un super restaurant, je le recommande!
