So Cool Events

Despite the odd location of their warehouse, So Cool Events really organised a great event for the NCL Epic cruise ship opening last night.
Everything was «ice» themed, from the cocktails offered upon walking in (blue mixed vodka drinks), the décor inside was all lighted in blue and clear accents, and then the actual ice bar is absolutely amazing.
They keep the room at 8 degrees farenheit, and everything is made of ice in the room. The bar, the chairs, the glasses, the decorations, the walls — everything is ice! It is a really fun experience. You are not allowed to wear stilettos inside the ice bar, but they provide furry shoes for you to borrow. They also provide gloves and parkas upon entering.
The bar inside the ice room was packed with different types of vodka for your choosing, it was the coldest drink I’ve ever had, lol. You can’t stay in there for very long, and only a certain amount of people can enter at once (only about 10 – 15 at a time). It is definitely a really interesting experience.
In the main room (where the temperatures are normal!), they had two drink stations and a lot of really good hors d’oeuvres passing around. I was able to try the shrimp skewers, beef wellington, and tomato in puff pastry. All were delicious and the staff was very accomodating. The complimentary valet was a great touch, especially in that area.
Overall, a great place for a unique event. I can’t say anything of their pricing or how easy they are to work with, but from a guest’s view it was a great experience.
