I had the tuna melt sandwich on baguette, and it was delicious. I also like that they have mango and pineapple pastelitos, which are a welcomed variation from the norm. Open 24 hours is a plus! Staff is very friendly.

I was going to school around this area and was amazed of how packed it was here as if I was at a Starbucks or something ha ha ha :).They have great food and drinks here. I am born and raised here in Miami, so I got my usual croquettas jamon/pollo and café con leche to go. The food is made to order so you know it’ll be nice and fresh for you once you’ll dig in to it.

This franchise is quickly and quietly taking over Miami. Pinecrest Bakery started out of Pinecrest and only wanted to be a Cuban bakery where you would find Cuban bread, pastelitos, and Cuban desserts, like flans and others. Luckily for them, many people in Pinecrest have Cuban roots and this place became successful enough to expand. New locations have spread over Miami, providing good quality pastries, coffee, sandwiches, but above all, a Cuban and Hispanic experience. The bakery for this review is located on Eighth Street, basically, and it is one of the many neighborhood bakeries in the area, as well as fierce competition to the supermarket bakeries from around and lately. I like to pick up a loaf of Cuban bread here whenever possible. It is really good, soft, crisp but not crunchy, and meaty. I also get the pastelitos, not my favorites from around here, but they definitively can quench a craving. Also, a café con leche, or a plain Cuban coffee. They also serve sandwiches and other fried items, like papas rellenas and empanadas. It is a good stop, if you are around here. Even though this place is the closest of the better Cuban bakeries around me, I would rank it as my third option when it comes to pastelitos, or empanadas, even croquettes. But when it comes to Cuban bread, definitively the best. If I want to make pan con lechon, Cuban sandwiches, or even a loaded ham n cheese with croquettes, this bread is gold. And that’s just my opinion. By the way, this place is rarely full. If you are in a time crunch, this place may be not only a life saver, but also a time saver. Need to pick up some pastelitos for the office? Boom. Then again, that’s just my opinion…
