History
Established in 2010.
We are not new to pilates! Pilates in the Grove is our second location. Our original studio, Pilates on the Beach in Miami Beach has been open since 2008. Our third location, Pilates in the Grove, South Miami, opened it’s doors in late 2015.
Our highly skilled, certified instructors have many years of experience. In addition to being trained in pilates some of our wonderful instructors are also physical therapists and massage therapists.
We offer a warm and intimate environment with small group class sizes affording our clients individualized attention that cannot be replicated in a big-box gym.
Meet the Business Owner
Christa G.
Business Owner
Christa G., co-owner of Pilates in the Grove, was introduced to Pilates while in Physical Therapy school at the University of Miami. She received a Bachelors of Health Science from the University of Miami in 1996 and then went on to receive a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 1999. She has spent the majority of her career working as a physical therapist in outpatient orthopedics.
After discovering that Pilates can be beneficial for rehabilitation as well as for fitness, Christa became a Certified Pilates Practitioner through Polestar Pilates in 2004. She not only uses her knowledge of this exercise technique when treating her patients, but has become an experienced group exercise instructor as well. She is currently certified in all apparatuses and has extensive knowledge of golf specific training. She truly believes in the benefits of Pilates exercise for clients of all ages and levels.
