Miami Urgent Care

I went to see Dr. Mones and his wonderful staff over at Miami Urgent Care for my annual physical. I thoroughly enjoyed the new upgrade to the front desk. The wonderful ladies at intake were fabulous as usual and Dr. Mones and his staff had me in and out in a matter of 30 mins. There is no one more efficient than Dr. Mones and his staff in Miami. Their staff have excellent bedside manners and really listen and take time provide the feedback a patient wants and needs to hear. Since Dr. Mones has become my PCP it has been nothing but great health and excellent service. Whenever anyone is need of a new PCP my only recommendation is Dr. Mones and his team at Miami Urgent Care!

Fast, friendly, accommodating, professional! I only waited 20 minutes, which included filling out paperwork on an iPad. The only downside was that the screen kept freezing so they had to take down my info verbally, which was fine. The nurse was super friendly, the doctor was cheerful, and I wasn’t nervous at all.
I came in with a severely swollen knee that I had fallen on. They did the X-​rays right away and offered to call me with the results in 30 minutes if I didn’t want to wait. They called in my prescription to CVS, which was filled by the time I got there. Can’t thank the staff enough!

Dr Mones is very personable and engaging. He took the time to explain things to me and didn’t rush.

I’ve meant to adjust this for some time. The medicine that was sent to my pharmacy was incorrect. I used it before realizing this.

I have never, ever, had such a positive experience at a medical facility (doctor’s office, clinic, ER, etc.). EVER! The entire staff was so friendly, nice, caring and helpful. I was in an out in less than an hour.
Dr. Mones is now my PCP. CONGRATS! In today’s day and age where medical care is eclipsed by red tape, large costs and overall disenchantment, Dr. Mones and his staff turn that all around. «All of my patients have my cell phone, Toma, please text me, for ANYTHING. ²⁴⁄₇.»
Who DOES that?
Dr. Mones does, that’s who.
If you’re in the Gables — this is where you go. Trust me, you won’t be sorry. I mean, I’m sorry you’re sick — but you’ll feel 100% better after your visit. Promise.

Everyone was very nice and helpful waiting room is really nice got in and out pretty quickly would recommend to all my friends

My most recent experience at Miami Urgent Care was great. I made an appointment for the next day, on the day of my appointment I waited for about ten minutes and then I was taken in for my physical. The best experience at a doctors office yet.

I went to Miami Urgent Care after work with an infected cuticle. My finger was bright red and swollen. The pain was a ¹⁰⁄₁₀. I got to the urgent care at about 7 pm. I was seen by the physician assistant, Brittany, after only a fifteen minute wait. She was very pleasant, quickly assessed the problem, lanced and drained my finger. Wow! The relief was instant. I was pleased that the pricing was reasonable, as well. I am very grateful to Dr. Mones and his amazing staff! I now recommend friends and family.

Great experience when visiting this urgent care room. One thing for sure is that their pricing is very reasonable and they don’t bill the customers.

I am real happy with finding this close to state of the art facility. Everyone was über friendly. Knowledgeable and helped you feel comfortable. They provided blankets to cold people, water if needed. Lots of knowledge. Very impressed will use again for sure

I have been going to Miami Urgent Care/​Dr. Mones’s office for over a year now. I really enjoy the atmosphere of the office. The staff are helpful and I never feel like I am putting them out. Fast service and great people.

Update: They recognized the wait issue and made it right. Goes a HUGE long way with me.
Horrible. Going on an hour and a half waiting here. No fun when you’re sick and just want to get in and out and get home to rest. Should have just waited till Baptist opened at 11.

***Updated 11÷1÷15: I just spoke with Dr. Harris Mones on the phone. I truly believe that if I had been seen by him during my emergency, my experience would have been an entirely different one… a 5 star one. My hope is that the staff has been asked to be more thorough and more helpful. My suggestion to future patients is to make sure to be seen my Dr. Mones if you are having serious symptoms; He has 30 years of experience, is knowledgable, kind, and attentive.***
If you are having a health emergency please do not come here. My husband did a google search for a nearby Urgent Care facility to treat what turned out to be an acute salivary glad infection. I was in terrible pain, and my face had swollen up with what looked like a large egg behind my right ear/​jawline.
My experience with this office was not great, I do not plan to return, and I would not recommend it to others. The hours of operation were perfect since I had a medical emergency and the office opened earlier than most. My husband and I chose this office because of its vicinity, the hours, and the ratings. The office was smaller than I expected, but I was hopeful that I would have a more personalized visit because of the size (and one doctor). We waited for an hour, and were charged $ 130 before our consultation (they don’t take Ambetter). The front desk staff was not particularly friendly. The large tv was on and loud in the tiny waiting room. When I asked nicely, if we could turn it down or off (my husband and I were the only ones there and my headache was getting worse by the moment from the infection and fever I had) the young lady at the front desk did so, while looking annoyed and without a word. When brought to the back, I wasn’t seen by the doctor, but rather by a young woman — Jackie, I believe. When she introduced herself it was not clear if she was a PA or NP, and most certainly was not Dr. Harris Mones. My temperature was not taken, and I was not asked what other medications I had taken. I wasn’t asked if I had ever had anything like this before. She was nice. She examined my ears and the back of my throat, and felt my glands. Her diagnosis was standard: infection of the salivary gland. And her prescriptions standard: Ibuprofen, Antibiotics, and Diflucan. I do not get sick often — my last Urgent Care visit was 4 years ago for kidney stones and I was immediately sent to the ER. When we left, we weren’t given directions or an address to the pharmacy where the script had been called in, and we weren’t even spoken to or looked at on the way out. I found myself in a great deal of pain, the egg-​sized growth on my jaw getting bigger, hotter, and more tender, and crying in the car because of it. When I called Jackie to tell her this, she said it was normal to have pain when suffering an infection and that it would get better in 48 hours. That if it didn’t she would then prescribe ‘something for the pain.’ I have lived in Miami for 2 years and haven’t needed a doctor, but have a great dentist in Miami Beach. Retrospectively, I should have gone to him and had a MUCH better experience for much less of a cost and much better care (and compassion).
The office automatically sends a survey to their patients, asking for feedback for permission to post on Unilocal on your behalf. I opted out of this, but offered my feedback to the office. Dr. Mones has contacted me via email assuring me that he would talk with his staff and offering to talk with me over the phone, which I thought was kind and business-​savvy. However, he has not returned my phone call, as of yet. My visit was in July.

Experience visiting your office was outstanding. Staff were respectful and provided quality customer service. From the the call to arrange appointment to the actual visit. The waiting time was reasonable considering is a Dr. office and to add urgent care. I felt comfortable sharing reason for visit and Dr. Mones has a down to earth personality not like other Dr.‘s around town. He was very personable and made me fee like I was just talking to one of my close friends, and I could openly talk to him without judgements. I would definitely return for medical needs and would choose him as my primary care physician if in near future covered by my insurance. Thank you for making my visit comfortable, less stressful, and caring for your patients.

This is NOT an urgent care center. Do not consider coming here if you are in need of urgent care. I came in with a severe allergic reaction and waited two hours to be seen while patients came in for regular doctors visits and were seen before me. This office should be shut down. What I experienced was simply unethical.

I visited this urgent care recently and it was fast pace, very friendly staff, and super clean.
If I ever have to visit a urgent care this is my choice.

I have come here a few times, staff is very friendly and very smart. I would say Dr Mones however
Is not organized nor really cares for the schedule of patients even the med reps he couldnt care a less. I liked to come here before but after this appointment i will never be back. Sorry but being organized is important for patient retention but of course this is Miami and probably NO ONE from his staff will care or read this. Good luck!

Great place! Went in for lab work & general checkup. Waited less than 10 m & was seen by Dr Mones within 5 minutes. Waiting room was warm & had iPads to use while waiting with wifi of course.
What I really liked was the thorough examination & referring me to eye dr.
I called & they had my lab results within 2 days of original exam. They discussed the results over the phone & they sent me my lab results by email.
Great experience & will go back for future exams!

It’s been a while… just about a year since I was there. Details may be fuzzy.
I do remember being taken care of in a timely manner in a very pleasant waiting room. with a lovely and caring staff.
Went there because twice, in two days I had hit the same spot on my leg, (a real klutz move), and it looked nasty. in fact,
After my third visit and two antibiotics later, Dr. Mones said I reaaaaly needed to be seen in an emergency room setting and sent me to
Coral Gables Hospital where I spent a week as an inpatient… after which, I visited the wound care clinic at Pan American where I ended up with a skin graft.
Although it would suit me juuust fine to never see the inside of the urgent-​care center again, I would not hesitate to go again or to recommend it to anyone in need of such a facility.
Kudos to a very professional, friendly staff
