Miami-Dade Public Library System – West Kendall Regional

I really like the look/​feel of this library. Always clean and organized.
It is also home to story time for kids, a free service we sure like to take advantage of.
My daughter has been attending story time for over 3 years now. It is a nice way to spend 30 minutes or so. They read books to the children, play music, etc. Great way to make friends as well.
I also like that they have a kids section for books. They also have small tables, appropriate for children. I really wish that this room was enclosed though, more often than not, the kids (including mine) are a bit too loud for others to read and focus. I wish this area was separated from the rest of the library, as it is at most locations.

This has been my library my whole life. Three stars for the facility because, sure, there are a lot of reading options and you have computers available and all that. As for librarians, well, they’re not as kind as the ones I remember growing up. Maybe it’s because I’m not a cute little kid anymore — I don’t know. They seemed to be annoyed the whole time helping and were really loud. Maybe I also caught them on a bad day, but for me to want to write something about this means something at least.

I’ll start by saying I absolutely love to read. Anything books is my passion. Normally i would go to Barnes & Noble for anything books that I need. This evening I decided to bring the kids to the library. My son had a black history project and thought lets do research at the old fashion library.
This library is located in the strip mall. Parking is ample and easy to find.
As soon as you walk in to your right, there is an information area. The ladies that are there are extremely helpful. The kids section is to your left in a separate area. I love it. It’s quiet and cozy and plenty of places to sit.
There are a lot of books for your little ones to chose from. All the classics as well as biographies. There is an information desk there as well. There are also tables for the kids to sit and do homework. We found just the book we needed to complete the project. The kids especially loved the process of checking out their own books.
All in all it was a pleasurable experience. I mean what better habit can you instill in your children. Not to mention the quality time spent. I am so happy that this library is a part of the community!

This Hammocks Library sucks it’s not as good as the library on Kendall Drive on 152^nd Ave

Nice selections of books. Parking is a bit difficult for elderly and/​or parents with small children, but there librarians are knowledgeable and helpful.

Located in the Hammocks strip mall that has everything from Publix to CVS to an ice skating rink, you’ll find this library. It’s two stories and has big black glass panels on the front, you can’t miss it.
Inside it’s pretty popular with students and people… reading. The selection seems huge, the upstairs has magazines, computers, newspaper archives, research, etc. The bottom floor has audiobooks, DVDs, and the children’s section. I’m sure I’m missing most of it, but they’ve probably got it if you’re looking for something in particular. However, for some reason the selection seems old here. But atleast you can stop by the Jamaican place a few doors down and grab a patty when you leave.
