This park is a hidden gem in Coral Gables and has a magical quality to it especially at night. Great playground and huge trees to sit under. Also a great place to play freesbie. Don’t listen to Tiffany, this park is NOT permanently closed. They did find antimony and other heavy metals, but the city is in the process of cleaning it up. I will continue to check back as time goes on to see if will be fully reopened. The east side of the park is supposed to be open now.

This park is now closed due to being built on toxic waste. You cannot go here. It is completely fenced off and will never be open again. Now looks quite creepy with an abandoned playground. This is an informative review. Like I said Closed down forever.

One of the better parks in greater Miami, but there are is no WC. Yes, people, you need to have the kids pre-pee for this place, but what a great park! Nice swings, great for lizard catching, and kid’o play area is fine. And I might add — THEREISNOTASTROTURFF, which is outstanding.

Merrie Christmas Park has a few paved walkways and a decent, udpated playground area. There are also some very cool looking, huge old banyan trees to be found here, and lots of open space for setting up and playing sports and games. As others have mentioned, this park is sunken down from street level(it’s bordered on 2 sides by streets, and on the other two by fences and homes) so once you’re down in the park itself, it feels that you could sit on one of the many benches they have here or have a seat on the hillside and let the rugrats loose and know they’re not going to have to run into the streets to retrive balls or other items that might otherwise end up there, as the hills surrounding this park pretty much keep everything contained. I was dog sitting for a friend recently, I brought the furry little fellow to this park to have a bit of a run, and it was perfect for that, also. As a bonus for pet owners(responsible ones, anyway), they have poop bag dispensers here so you can clean up after your animals if they should decide to drop a deuce while strolling through this park.

Come see the Banyan trees. Just beautiful. It is in a nice part of town and the park is clean. There are lots of young families around and every one takes pride and picks up. The area beneath the play scape is the rubber material and there is shade. I like to come here with the boys, a snack and a ball. We spend hours here.

That’s the name, I swear. Look it up. and Yes, I’m adding this park to Unilocal today only for that reason. It seems the area used to be a coral rock quarry. An open pit where some of the early«Coral» Gables home were built from using this great material. Park is sunken about 10+ feet from what the street level is, with old ginormous banyan & ficus trees by LeJune(west side). It’s quite a view in the early part of the morning. The dark shade from the trees contrasts sharply against the bright tropical sun causing a natural glow filter. A Flood of light. Driving by, I broke so hard when I saw this view, that the old lady in car behind threw up a hand gesture & wished me a Merrie Christmas. I know!
