This place is great! The cheesesteaks are amazing! The pizza is thin and crispy. Unfortunately, I just found them after 5 years of being in Miami Beach. Everyone makes a big deal about some other pizza places but if you like real pizza and cheesesteaks from up north, this is the place for you! I would post pictures of the food but I already ate it all :-)

Okay, I ordered chicken Marsala and Mario’s pizza. This is a strange place. The Marsala is NOT Marsala. FYI, there is no tomato sauce in the Marsala Wine sauce. That said, the dish isn’t bad at all. I would give it 3 stars as a dish, but they need to change the name. The pizza isn’t good. It’s not greasy and the meat and veggies are okay and give it a bit of flavor but the rest is just bland. The sauce has no flavor except watered down tomato. If you want pizza don’t get this one. It’s getting 3 stars for what they call Marsala and less that 2 for the pizza so I split the difference.

I had the garlic bread and a buffalo style pizza. It was awesome. Dominic greeted me and welcomed me to the area. I love the fact this business has been here for a long time and its family owned. Super great service, they deliver, stay open late and the price point is great.

A Groupon got my attention and I decided to eat in since this was the only location that was part of the promotion that offered this(plus I am not close to any of the delivery areas). While the Wynwood area is certainly up and coming, this location seemed to be located in an area that still has a ways to go. Many sketchy individuals seem to linger around the streets. One homeless women tried to get my attention while I walked into the restaurant and continued to look at me through the window for awhile — not exactly a comfortable dining experience. If you decided to eat in, there are 4 tables. One of the tables was occupied by one of the restaurants employees watching TV. From an ambience perspective its gets zero stars. Absolutely bare bones. The pizza was good, hence the 3 stars, but not so excellent to offset the overall horrible dining experience. However, I do realize that probably the majority of people order take-out or delivery — here is where you will need to judge yourself on how many stars you give the pizza since tastes do vary. I would avoiding dining in, however, unless you like roughing it :-)

I just order Mario the baker for the first time. Always saw at Unilocal and grub hub. I order the baked chicken Alfredo and it was awesome!!! It took less than 45 mins the delivery. And it arrived hot and delicious! Now that i found a good Italian delivery, ill always order from the restaurant and try the rest of the menu. Thanks for the good food

I used to like the pizza here. Now not so much. Not at all, actually. The chicken parm was neither chickens or parmy. Sauce was watery. The extra star is because they’re nice here and the location is good.

Called in and asked for specials. Was told 2 Medium with bread for 18.95 $ so I preceded to order a Hawaiian and a Chicken Bacon Pizza based on Unilocal pictures. At this time the phone lady should have told me that the special was for CHEESEONLY. All she said was, see you in 20 min. Once I arrived my bill was 30 $. This may have put a bad taste in my mouth but I don’t think the food is that great, its good but its basic. I ordered based on proximity but honestly Dominoes is a block away and i might toss my money that way next time. Pizza was… Meh…

They moved used to be in Biscayne blvd about 5 blocks from this location. Still good pizza but I think it was better in their old location, much smaller place now more of a take out place. Will keep coming back

This pizza is perfect! It reminds me of the classic pizza spot in Queens, NYC called«Margaritas Pizza». This pizzas star is what all pizzas star should be… The sauce and the cheese! I think it’s so odd that ppl complain about the oiliness bc well… That’s what cheese gives off, lol. I didn’t find it to be super oily but I did find it to be very flavorful. So good, I’ve been thinking about this place since the first time I tried it last year and it was EXACTLY the same.

Ordered a «large“pizza that looked like a medium about two weeks ago and it gave me and my boyfriend a stomach ache. Too greasy and the garlic rolls were drenched in oil def not worth the $ 25 we paid.

Decent at best. As other reviewers have commented, the pizza is super oily and that’s about it. Like most pizza places in this area, the dining area isn’t very inviting, but it should be a reasonable option for takeout. I would rank it better than Pucci’s but not as good as Mamma Caruso’s.

I order there on the regular my food. Let’s say the food here is ok. It always depends on what you ordering. Very good is by the pastas the lasagne, but for example the backed ziti are not to enjoy. They are to moist and have a little sour taste. The waiting time, by delivery is always around one hour. That’s also standard.

I would really give this place like 3.8, but I’m rounding up. I love the girl who works in the front. She’s always given great service. As for the food, I do love the pizza here. Someone said it’s not thin. In my opinion, it’s really thin. The flavor definitely brings me home(New York), but still not my first choice. I’ve had the garlic rolls(they’re definitely rolls and not knots. I like knots. lol). The first time I had them they tasted like balls of dough. The second time they were way better. So consistent with the pizza, but not with the garlic rolls. The cheesy garlic bread, in my opinion, is garlicky, drippy, cheesy goodness! Great for the munchies! The chicken alfredo was fresh, hot, cheesy, great consistency… the only thing about this place that I realized is that they don’t like to use a lot of salt which could be good or bad depending on your preference. To me, I like my salt cooked in, but it doesn’t hurt to just add a little. The chicken bacon ranch was not impressive. Dont get it. no matter how good chicken bacon ranch sounds to you, don’t do it. I’ve had way better. Now the chocolate mousse… yes. yes, do it!

This is right next to my job and great for when we want lunch delivered. The pizza is pretty good and the garlic rolls are dripping with garlic sauce(which I think is awesome.) The only problem I have is that this location is scary/dangerous/ghetto because if you have to go pick an order UP, there are usually homeless guys and crackheads hanging out in the same little shopping center which makes it really uncomfortable to walk by when you want to go INSIDE. But you should be good if you get an order delivered!

A couple friends and I were in the mood for a greasy slice of pizza but I live in what I consider to be a pizza desert. The only options are high end fancy places with crazy pizza concoctions or low end chain pizza but nothing in between. We searched eagerly on Unilocal for something little farther away to meet our craving. We found this place, and since most us had eaten at other Mario the Baker pizza joints, we thought it would an solid choice. When we got to the restaurant we noticed the lack of décor. The place looked a little run down but I was fine with that as long the pizza was good. We started off our experience with an ordered the garlic cheese bread. It wasn’t we were expecting. It was more of cheese calzone served with red sauce but that being said it was pretty good. Shortly after our pizza arrived and at the first bite we all couldn’t help but notice the pizza had a weird taste. It was still edible it took away from the taste. Also there was a lot of pieces of burnt stuff from the oven. Overall the pizza disappointing almost sub par.
We also ordered a Chicken Parmesan. The chicken was submerged in a pool of pasta sauce. It was basically a piece of chicken breast with pieces of soggy breading breaking off into a soup of sauce covered in mountain of cheese. The pasta that came with the chicken was cooked well but ironically enough didn’t have enough sauce. I guess if you take the sauce from the chicken an put on the pasta it balances out. The garlic roll that came with the meal was probably the best thing about that entrée. It was greasy roll with a crunchy crust and a soft doughy interior. Overall, I would rate the food at this place as average. I’ve definitely had better pizza in Miami and from a Mario the Baker pizza place. I wouldn’t be my first choice but it satisfied my craving for something better than chain pizza.

Not bad. No super great. I found the baskets they bring food out in a little odd. Pizza was good. It was crispy NY style. Nothing I’d make a special trip for. But well worth the money. Place was a little run down looking. But a lot of pizza joints look that way. So it fits.

Attempted to grab a bite to eat here since I bought a groupon for two slices and a soda and well… it didn’t work out. Had to park in front of these characters that were gathered next to the restaurant. It didn’t help that they were gawking and acting suspicious. They also seemed inebriated to say the least. Showed the girl at the front my groupon app along with the groupon which has the code and everything they need to redeem it and she and the manager wouldn’t accept it. It’s funny because I understand that Mario the Baker is a chain restaurant more or less but yet I used a groupon once for a haircut at some rinky dinky salon on Flagler and I did not have the physical copy like I usually don’t. That salon simply recorded my full name along with the groupon code. It’s not that hard. Fine, you didn’t have the«technology» to record the groupon. ok…SOWRITEMYNAMEDOWNTHEN! Again, how hard can it be? Were you trying to make me look like an idiot? Was that your goal sweetheart? Please, get your restaurant out of the groupon site. You know what? On second thought I’m not even mad, I heard your pizza sucks anyway… thank goodness you denied my groupon. Getting a refund from groupon as I’m writing this!

I found a Groupon for this place($ 3 for 2 slices and a can of soda), so my wife and I decided to try it out on a trip to Miami. To start, the location is a bit tricky to navigate with narrow, crowded, and one-way streets. Parking can be a challenge, but it seems as though no curb is off limit(aside from hydrants and driveways of course). We were greeted by a very friendly staff and had out food fairly quickly. I took a quick look at the menu to check out the garlic rolls people have mentioned: $ 1 each or $ 4 for 6. I got the half dozen, which was way too much for the two of us — these are full sized dinner rolls smothered in oil and garlic. I’m more of fan of dry garlic in a butter spread, so these rolls weren’t quite my thing, but add enough parm to soak up the oil and they were OK. The pizza slices were huge, as expected from a New York Style place. If you don’t eacta lot, one slice is plenty for you. The two of us could have easily survived on 1 piece each, but we ate all four anyway. As for the taste it wasn’t anything amazing — very little sauce and a lot of grease. It’s sad that people think grease is what makes pizza taste good — they’ve obviously never tried it without. All in all, not a bad meal, especially with our Groupon.

I’ve been coming to Mario the Baker for a while now, and I’ve never really thought the world of it. HOWEVER! Mario the Baker very much does provide a break from the national pizza chains that, while significantly cheaper, do get a bit stale after a while. I mean, come Friday, come Saturday, come Sunday — a night in, college football, NFL — it’s always, «Which of the big three offers the best coupon?» Gets a little old. Mario the Baker offers a solid and wonderfully greasy mom-and-pop, walk-in-and-have-a-Coke-and-a-slice-style alternative. It almost reminds me of the pizza places my mother and I frequented when I was a kid, the kind that was as much about the arcade as it was about the pizza, the kind where you’d run from game to game with a pocket full of change while the order was being prepared. Mario the Baker doesn’t quite achieve that, but the style of pizza is enough to fuel my nostalgia, and that beer is sold on site is the adult equivalent of Ms. Pac Man.

3.5 rating. Last week I wanted something for lunch so I got on 24 eats to see what I could have delivered in my area. We have some great close by restaurants but not many deliver and at times it is hard to get out of the office. I came across this place and thought oh no I have ate there a very long time ago and was not impressed. Like many times I guess it was in what you order. As I was scanning the menu I saw that they have hot subs, oh yes the Capacolla and Provolone Sub sounded good to me. Great it was only $ 6 and I needed a minimum of $ 12 for it to be delivered. Oh look Pasta Fagioli soup, sure sub and soup, perfect. It took around 45 minutes for it to be delivered as stated. I open the sub and it was perfectly toasted and hot. The quality of the meat and cheese were good, and the bread was delish. This sandwich was so enjoyable, great for lunch. Fresh ingredients and flavorful. The soup was also excellent and a huge portion. I shared it with a coworker and we still had plenty left for another portion. The soup was again very good. What a nice surprise, it was a very good lunch.
