One word for this store #LOVE I had no idea they were open, I pretty much ran into it by mistake. I walked in and Remi, the most fabulous man in the block welcomed me with a great smile, needless to say sold me a tee shirt I DIDNOTNEED! He is your go-to if you want to get styled and walked through the collection. I am so happy this area is growing little by little it’s becoming the most amazing shopping location! Thumbs up for MMM!

Honestly, this store is a little too eclectic and«brash» for my taste. Edgy in an quasi-gothic way — or so it portrays itself to be in my eyes. And pricey to boot — but yeah I understand — it’s a famous and exclusive Parisien brand. That justifies any high prices, right? Right? :) But while they have weird shoes, straps for shirts for the women, their products are definitely European. Austrian, Italian, and of course French-made. And it’s definitely the place to smell European too — they’ve got parfums(titled«untitled») that literally smells like you’ve been smoking cigarettes. Clever, really. But what makes me appreciate this place is how much thought they’ve put into the classic looking clothing that they also have here. They’re versatile, reversible, and can definitely just change the overall style/look a woman may have — COMPLETELY. Just move the strap here to another place, and it’ll look like a totally different high-end classic. And they stock a lot of these versatile high-quality things a woman would just love. And men would love them too if they knew that it would cut the woman’s wardrobe in half — yes guys, really! Now, you just have to get past the somewhat eery and über-edgy façade to make this discovery. Oh, and nothing for the men here. To be honest, I’m kind of relieved — unless if they can make something versatile/reversible for me too! :)

First MMM was at the F Factory during Art Basel… and now he’s finally here to stay! I never thought I’d see the day Martin Margiela would open a store in Miami but times are a-changin’ it seems. Don’t get me wrong, I couldn’t be happier that one of my favorite designers has opened a boutique here. My only concern falls under the fact that Margiela’s work being highly conceptual and experimental, i.e. his use of tromp l’oeils, might slip passed Miami’s «defined» palette. Most people look at you weird if you’re wearing black during the day, imagine running around town in Margiela’s Incognito Sunglasses… they’ll be screaming«QUARANTINE!» Luckily for the average man, not everything is entirely experimental, though still iconographic and symbolic; there’s an extensive collection of classic cardigans, pullovers, and boots for outings in the city.

While Jay Z is busy«Running His Town» he manages to drop Maison Martin Margiela into the lyrics, breaking them off a piece of pop culture love. Now, Miami’s avant garde set has another place to blow Benjamins on modern threads. The shop carries shoes, clothing, and accessories for both men and women. Don’t expect classics, Don’t expect basics. Instead expect to find edgy, creative pieces with extra attention paid to details and a price tag to match. My favorites included light, gauzy summer tops and a deconstructed take on a pearl necklace ranging from $ 200 — $ 600. I’m gonna have to double my money and make it stack.

The famous French brand gets a boutique in Miami’s burgeoning Design District. A familiar sound welcomed me in, it was The xx’s song ‘Intro’. I knew the store had good musical taste already, but what were the goods like? There were a few chairs glued to the walls which was pretty interesting and then there were a few racks of everything from t-shirts to blazers as well as some nice looking denim. What really garnered my attention were the shoes. There is one thing with seeing things on the internet and another with actually seeing them in the flesh. There were a few laceless oxfords that required further investigation. Maybe another time I thought as I walked pass by some of the white boxes with these shoes on top. There’s also Women’s clothing here so if you have a special someone with a unique eye this may be the place for that special gift. I walked out knowing that one day I’d be back for at least one of the items that caught my eye.
