Every sales associate is a design-educated professional and each showroom has a dedicated interior architect on staff to help plan your space to the smallest detail. Our intention is to create and nurture enduring relationships, and we are pleased to say that eighty percent of our customers are repeat clients who refer their friends, family and co-workers. With the aim of expanding the repertoire and understanding of design in the communities we serve, Luminaire Lab also exists as a laboratory for curated exhibitions, thought-provoking lectures and other types of educational endeavors, aimed at an inclusive audience including casual design enthusiasts, designers and architects in the trade, as well as scholars and collectors.
History
Established in 2002.
Highlighting Miami’s Design District, Luminaire Lab deviates from the traditional showroom to serve as an experimental and investigative playground that juxtaposes the most innovative modern and contemporary design. Since its 2002 inception, the 7,500-square foot space has hosted an array of differing exhibitions in addition to showcasing individual products, challenging one’s sensibilities and driving new directions in design thinking.

«From the age of 16, I dreamt of having something like a church, where people would come to experience good design,» says Nasir Kassamali, who with his wife Nargis, envisioned and created the company. From Kenya and of Indian ancestry, the Kassamalis emigrated to the United States in 1973. Presciently enamored by the work of visionaries such as Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe, Alvar Aalto and Arne Jacobsen, their keen foresight stemmed from an intense appreciation for design and grew into a powerful desire to share this knowledge with the public, while making the highest level of contemporary, international products directly accessible to the consumer.
