Ehh… I have had better Mexican food. The location is okay and the service is alright. The guacamole was under seasoned and the tacos al pastor missed the mark. I don’t plan on going back.

Excellent Mexican food tucked away in a shopping centre. We ordered a variety of things including appetizers, burritos, tacos, fajitas, beers, margaritas, and dessert, and everyone was very happy with everything. It’s very reasonably priced and the service was excellent as well.

Excellent food, and for a vegan very accommodating when I asked for no cheese or sour cream. Only set back which I did not count against them; was the poor girl was running around as the only employee besides the kitchen staff. Very quaint and fairly quiet and intimate for a date night. It is small so don’t be deceived by the first impression.

This place is as authentic as it gets. Amazing food at a great value! I love mexican food and if your looking for a place on bird that serves up a mean burrito the most authentic way possible then this is the place for you. Don’t be surprised by its place and appearance. This place is a little slice of heaven and its worth every bean and quesadilla fork full. The only cons I have is the no refills on their sodas. Would much rather have soda fountain. Other then that; This place is a must eat.

3.5 stars. Came once with my female partner in crime. Enjoyed mexican food more than I expected. We had lots of it and left stuffed… in a good way. Only negative part: with a belly that full there is so much you can do after lol I kept craving two hours of rest. The owner was there and he is so proud of his business/restaurant, and he should definitely be. From the outside you might not think their food is a big deal but in this case make sure you do not judge that book by its cover. Go in! I have not been back due to its location and my almost-nonexistent free time but if I am around I would not hesitate. PS: My stars reflect personal liking of course. I liked it more than expected but again mexican food is not my favorite. Hence my 3.5

I live right behind this place so we usually just get take out. I gave it 5 stars only based on the food since I’ve never been there to judge the service. With that being said, the food is obviously amazing! One of the best & most authentic Mexican food in Miami, if not the best. Most people are used to going to chain Mexican restaurants so this would be a breath of fresh air of its real Mexican you’re craving.

I really can’t tell you guys enough how much I love this place. Everything is so fresh and authentic. Plus you can’t beat the value. I had a margarita here for $ 6! It was huge! And delicious! That kind of pricing is unheard of in Miami. I want to sing from the rooftop how yummy this place this but I also want to keep it on the down low because I like how it’s usually not that busy when I go.

When I want Mexican food I will go to the end of the earth to get some. Found this gem on bird road in the Flannigans shopping center. As from the pics I posted you can see that from the outside it doesn’t really say much. Inside is cold and very clean. Decorated like a typical Mexican restaurant with bright yellows blues and greens. We were the only ones in the restaurant, but then again it was a Monday around 6. Our waitress was the sweetest. She was very helpful and attentive our entire visit. The bring out complimentary chips and two small salsas. One was hot as $#!% and the other was your regular typical pico de gallo. They were ok… I ordered flautas which were delicious! I loved that they cut them in half for you here. I also ordered a horchata. Super tasty, but I guess they were getting to the bottom because mine was very thick. My mom ordered the chicken soup. She said it was superb. It was very light looking and didn’t seem or taste greasy at all. It was full of shredded chicken breast, carrots, potatoes, and avocado. They also served it with a side of rice. Mom said the rice was nice and fluffy. We didn’t do desert. I highly recommend this location if you’re in westchester.

Decided to try out this little spot tonight and ended up disappointed. My go to meal when trying a new«authentic» Mexican restaurant is the tacos al pastor. I ordered that, a simple cheese quesadilla, and the flautas(looked good in pics). I ordered everything to go and had their house chips and a margarita while I waited. On to the review… So the chips were decent, but I felt the sauces were lacking. The tomato based sauce has no spice at all, and their spicy sauce is barely spicy with no actual flavor. The flautas were alright. I felt the filling needed more ingredients and/or seasonings. I tasted one without putting any of the sauce on top and it was pretty dry and flavorless. The toppings improved on the taste, but they were still just alright. The tacos actually did have a decent flavor to them, but my first bite was nothing but fat and sinew, so that really made it hard to even finish it. It was also topped with just some old looking cilantro, so I can’t recommend them at all. Lastly, the basic quesadillas were the same you can make yourself with some flour tortillas, a bag of Mexican blend cheese, and a microwave. I only ordered them because I got one at another Mexican spot that was AMAZING. That restaurant kind of burned the cheese on the cook top, scooped it up and put it in a warm toasty tortilla. It was like a gooey, fried cheese quesadilla! This one… not so much. Oh… I almost forgot about the retried beans… Let’s just say that I wish I HAD forgotten! They’re awful.

Los Magueyes es un restaurante pequeño pero grande en atención y calidad de comida. Las porciones están adecuadas, la comida es fresca y con muy buen sabor

Excellent and in my opinion the most authentic Mexican restaurant in town. The service was exceptional we were served menus and water quickly without having to ask. They bring complimentary salsa chips with two types of green and red salsa which were nice and crunchy. I ordered the enchilada meal and it was amazing. This was my first time coming here and I’ve been to other Mexican places but by far this place is tops. The place looked clean and cozy not a huge location but it gives off that authentic family atmosphere.

Love the food here! Normally get the nachos, carnitas, soup tortilla, or steak and bean burrito. The chips are always fresh and salsa it tasty. The service is fast and the food always comes out quickly. The owner are very sweet and always make you feel welcomed. This is definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant in South Florida! Ps. The flan is to die for!

I am an insanely huge fan of Mexican food, particularly authentic, homey, light and fresh mexican food. I find all of the above at Magueyes. Discovered this place about two years back and was fascinated with it. I eat here quite often and am never disappointed. Their tostadas are great, the carne tampiquena is delicious and the chips salsa is amazing. My favorite plates are the tacos al pastor, which are particularly amazing in this restaurant. So filled with flavor and so uniquely seasoned. I’m in love with it. My boyfriend frequently craves their burrito mole poblano, which is a very unique dish and not for everyone, yet he dies for its deliciously spicy cacao sauce. This small restaurant is without a hidden gem and worth a try by anyone looking for more authentic mexican food rather than that nasty tex-mex thing you find so often.

I was in the mood for Mexican food and found some good reviews about this place so I decided to check it out. Came here on a Sunday afternoon, the place was kinda hard to find but found it after about a minute or two of looking around the plaza, so it’s not that difficult to find. The place is a little small but nice. The food was really good, I ordered the spinach and mushrooms quesadillas and a glass of horchata to wash it all down. The chips and salsa were good, too. They weren’t the greasy kind and the salsa: green is spicy, red is not. The 2 waitresses were attentive and pretty, too. Always a plus! ;) Los Magueyes is now in my top 5 authentic Mexican restaurants in Miami. I’ll definitely be returning here when I want some tasty, home-style Mexican food at great price!

I really enjoyed the food here. The chips and salsa they bring out is very addictive. The green salsa was amazing. I ordered three tacos. Two tongue and the other al pastor. The meat was very flavorful and tender. It came with rice and refried beans. They were ok. Nothing to write home about. Looking forward to coming back and checking out other dishes on the menu.

This place is a little piece of Mexican heaven tucked away in a strip mall off of Bird Road. I drove past it the first time. Look to the back of the lot! Once inside I was greeted by a very nice server who sat me and took my order. As soon as I was seated out came the chips and salsa. Two kinds a red and a green. The green was delicious. On the spicier side and thick, stuck to the chips. I ordered the Spinach Enchiladas. There were 3 to an order with a side of rice, beans and micro salad. I was a little fearful that the spinach would make things soggy. However the corn tortillas held up extremely well. The food was superb. Lots of cheese and spinach. I was stuffed when it was all over. Next time I will try a burrito. Those looked good coming out of the kitchen.

Very few restaurants are able to offer what this small hole-in-the-wall offers. The quesadillas are awesome and if you want to share, get a huge fajita for two. Both chicken and steak taste amazing.

Love this little hole in the wall. Sure, its in a dingy strip mall, and its nothing fancy… but the food is pretty damn good. Their nachos are so legit because there’s beans/cheese and your choice of protein on each chip. Burritos are enormous, and, they always put fresh chips with two salsa’s on your table. Its my go to spot for quick and(super) casual mexican food. I’m not saying its THEBESTEVER mexican food. But its a solid option if you’re in «the hood». My only complaint is I wish they had an ultra spicy sauce… Their«spicy sauce» really is not hot. Where the chilies at?

its one of those hole-in-the-wall joints… not bad but I think there’s probably better Mexican. my burrito was a little watery so that made my tortilla soggy. not a pleasant time eating it. taste-wise tho it wasn’t bad… like I said, if youre hungry and in the area. go for it. but don’t go out of your way to eat here.

Hubby was feeling like some Mexican food and we decided to try this lil place in the hole. It’s small but laid back and the customer service was pretty good. Their complimentary chips and salsa don’t disappoint but I wasn’t overly impressed. As far as food goes, my husband had the Burrito Mexicano and I had the Mexican Quesadilla. It was good but I wasn’t blown away(expectations were high after reading reviews). Tortilla was corn(I prefer flour). It looked more like soft tacos(2 individual size folded tortillas vs the traditional 4 triangles). And I believe the cheese was mozzarella(I prefer cheddar when it comes to quesadillas). All in all not a bad experience but I def expected more. Hubby says he’d go back to try something else on the menu but admitted its not truly traditional Mexican food.
