Lock and Load Miami Machine Gun Experience & Range

Brought my son here for his 17^th birthday and he absolutely loved it! It totally made this birthday something special for him. It’s great for enthusiasts to shoot from a large variety of automatic weapons. We did the express package. Pricing is on the expensive side but it’s more about getting to try some cool assault rifles would normally get to shoot. It’s not your typical gun range. You can’t share packages and you can’t just go and shoot one gun. But it’s a really cool experience.

I had a pleasure of visiting lock and loaded in Miami for my first shooting experience. The staff was helpful and friendly, especially my instructor Matt. He’s 6’5 and has tattoos, but don’t let that intimidate you. He was extremely friendly and was eager to share his knowledge of firearms and firearm safety alike. If you want to shoot machine guns in a safe and fun environment, look no further.
I shot a glock 17, beretta, 38 special, ak47, AUG, and a 12 gauge shotgun. So much fun

We had a blast (no pun intended) at Lock and Load Miami. We did the Scarface Package with 25 rounds each with the IMI Uzi, Colt M4 Commando, Thompson Gun (Tommy Gun) and the Glock 18 Submachine Gun. And we added the AK 47 as well.
They were very nice and patient with us as we were walking around and checking out the gun replicas to see what we really wanted to shoot. All in all, it was money and time well spent. Definitely gave us a different understanding, knowledge and respect for guns. Now, shooting handguns will never be enough.
Shout out also to Nicole for being so prompt with responding to our e-​mails and requests and for your patience in handling our very confusing scheduling.

Just a bit expensive but it’s worth the experience

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Their gun selection is out of hand. Their instructors were knowledgeable, patient, and overall great guys to be around. They gave us a little «breif» about each gun before we took aim, then showed us how to load, hold, aim, and shoot. It is a little pricey, but if you want to go «all-​out» and do something awesome — this is it! We will definitely be back.
I had never fired a gun before and the sheer adrenaline is something that can’t be replicated.

I visited this range in July with two gentlemen friends of mine. The instructor was great and the actual shooting was fine. The only thing that rubbed me wrong about this place is that my friends and I were asked to pay before hand. Now I have visited several shooting ranges all of the country and never was never asked to pay before the actual lesson. We also watched other individuals who came in after us go right on in and pay afterward. I would love to get managements feedback on this, I recall the lady that rang us up was a younger blond woman. I have some theories as to why we were treated as such but I would love to hear from management about their policies and why they seem to vary based in certain individuals before I put those theories down.

Absolutely love this place. My teenager loves CoD. Thought it was time she get a whiff of the real thing. Instructors are extremely professional; I can not say enough about them. She and her friends had a amazing time and for most who have teens you will understand… for a moment absolute nirvana on their faces.
Or also for those looking to clear a bucket list item without joining the military.

Along with the beaches and nightlife, hands down, the BEST thing to do in Miami. And I live here!
I shot so many I can’t remember all of them but wow! On top of the incredible experience, the front desk staff were warm and helpful. The instructors were knowledgable and even though I carry & have been to a «normal» range plenty of times, this is a whole other ball game. My instructor was patient and so much fun.
I walked out of there feeling the most alive I have ever felt. Incredible! I’m hooked.

¿Te gustaría disparar la AK-​47 de Lord of War? ¿La Ametralladora de rambo? ¿Una pistola con silenciador? ¿Una Glock 18 en FULL AUTO? Lock & Load es un impresionante centro de tiro ubicado a pocos minutos del Downtown de Miami que te permite precisamente eso, pagando acordemente.
Básicamente es un servicio, Gun as a Service. Ni bien llegas te piden el ID para hacerte un rápido background check y tenes a disposición diferentes combos pre-​armados. Generalmente una pistola automática o revolver y luego 3 armas largas como ser UZI, AK-​47, MP4, Armas de la segunda guerra mundial, europeas, etc etc.
Los combos varían en precio y salen USD150 para arriba salvo que haya alguna promo o descuento temporal.
Es una excelente oportunidad para disparar armas que en otro contexto no podrías, como por ejemplo armas de guerra o con Full Auto.
Siempre acompañado de un instructor, pasarás al polígono y te dará gafas y protectores para el ruido. Luego te irá enseñando a disparar con cada un de las armas que hayas elegido y podrás disparar 1 (UN) cargador con cada una de ellas.
Conviene alternar entre modo single shot y full auto para apreciar mas el recoil de cada arma
y su precisión.
De mas está aclarar que el instructor está armado y las normas de seguridad del polígono son altísimas. Siempre respetar y obedecer las instrucciones y no hacerse el loco con nada.
Toda la experiencia dura aproximadamente entre 45′ y una hora. Es altamente recomendable para sacarte las ganas de disparar las armas que ves en las películas, usualmente ilegales en otros ámbitos. Yo en mi caso salí emocionadisimo y el rush me duró días. Si estás en Miami y queres hacer algo distinto para tachar en tu lista de pendientes de la vida no te lo pierdas!!!

Nice place for people who want to shoot a machine gun for the first time and have the cash to do so. Its really overprized and they do not treat you accordingly. Fast in and fast out. 600 $ less in pocket. But our specialist nicolas was a great guy. Friendly and pro. One of the girls behind the frontdesk was not kind at all and the fact that she carried a gun on het waist made it … Welllll… Nice place to go once or twice. But then uou will be looking elsewhere.

Me and my girlfriend went shooting for the first time and found this place through TA. We had an amazing experience and our guide Mike was superb!

The most fun I have ever had! Albert, my instructor, explained every aspect of firing automatic firearms so I felt safe and confident before I pulled the trigger for the first time. The experience was amazing and I highly recommend going to this range for a few hours.

Professional, clean, great location. Highly recommend for pro-​shooters and novice. Private lessons available.

It was my first time shooting an automatic weapon so I had no idea what to expect. Thanks to our instructor Albert we had a spectacular time. I will defiantly be back for another round!

Went to Lock and Load yesterday for the first time. The last time I shot a gun was probably 10 years ago… it’s not something I’m comfortable with or knowledgable about, but our instructor, Maxx was very good. He showed us how to hold and load the gun and also warned us if there was going to be a kick back. It was a lot of fun and I definitely feel much more comfortable holding a gun. If the zombie apocalypse should ever happen, at least I know how to shoot a machine gun now!

Over priced, but if you have some $, and want to kill some time, a decent place to go.

I had gone to shooting ranges before in California and left feeling «meh» — for whatever reasons, I just never quite enjoyed my experiences. Despite that, I couldn’t pass on the opportunity of going to Lock and Load to fire automatic weapons I had only known from video games, haha! My buddies and I felt a little anxious as we weren’t sure what to expect; but from beginning to end, Lock and Load delivered a fun, comfortable, and safe experience!
After we selected our gun packages from their extensive selection, Brian and Max — former military veterans– did a great job explaining each weapon, teaching us proper form and what to expect before firing. They remained close behind us as we shot, ready to help correct/​stabilize our form as needed. It helped remove any remaining anxiety we might have had and by the end, we all were grinning and wishing we had more ammo to play with!
If nothing else, I can now claim I can defend myself with a combat shotgun during a zombie apocalypse!

Soooooooo much fun, very professional & clean. Instructors are ex military and VERY easy on the eyes lol. You can make a reservation online. Ask for Mike he was great!!!

Best birthday idea I came up with in addition to the surprise Miami trip I booked for Pinky!
I had contacted Lock and Load a month or two in advance before the trip to set up a reservation via email and received a response within a week confirming my reservation request.
When we got there Pinky and I chose our packages, I went with the Black Widow while Pinky chose the Mission Impossible package. I forget our guide’s name (tall Caucasian mall with heavy beard), but he was very friendly and super helpful. He really made me feel at ease during our appointment as I am the type who feels like she will shoot herself in the foot somehow-​someway. While shooting guns is not something I’ve really done before coming here so the idea of shooting machine guns just made me feel even more anxious.
I’ll be honest I was pretty ticked off mid-​appointment that the girl who filled our package orders never mentioned that one of the guns in Pinky’s package was not available so it would be replaced with a Tommy gun as I was paying. I mean, yes I’m sure other people come in spending a lot more money than I did that day, but why am I going to pay that price for a package that isn’t going to give Pinky the full experience he was anticipating? I mean at the very least I should have been alerted of this situation before paying so we could have had the option to change packages or request a different substitute than the one we were given. Just for this they deserve 3 stars rather than the 4 I am giving them. However it was because of our guide and the awesome experience he gave us as well as surprising Pinky with the birthday treat of letting him fire an extra gun (I believe it was the largest gun they have) with a… belt (?) with one single pull to unload the gun rather than in the 1 – 2 second pull they had us do for all the other machine guns. Which I have to say made up for the blindsiding switch-​a-​roo of the tommy gun to a certain degree.
Would I recommend others to come here? Only if you have the cash since it is a bit pricey. I would come back with Pinky again if we were to ever return to Miami, as pricey as it was, seeing his eyes light up and look like a little boy when he found out he was going to get to shoot machine guns was worth it.

This place was amazing.
I had my bachelor party in South Beach and we were looking for some kind of event to do. We came across this gun range and instantly had everyone’s buy in. We called the range a few times before our trip and they were extremely helpful and flexible with accommodating us.
When we arrived, the staff greeted us and explained all of our different options. They staff was very informative and knowledgeable. Most of us were pretty inexperienced with firearms (I had never even shot a gun), but the staff ensured us that this would not be a problem.
After we selected our arsenal of weapons, we went through a very informative safety training course (not too long and extremely helpful/​necessary). Our instructor, Nick, was very well spoken, communicated clearly and even threw in a good bit of humor. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone with any amount of experience. This was one of the highlights of my bachelor party.

Man darf alles schießen, single fire und automatic… sämtliche Kriegswaffen die man bei uns nur ausm TV kennt. 1800 Schuss die Minute ist die schnellste bis hin zur Tommy Gun aus Scarface! Etwas teuer. aber wer da bock drauf hat… sollte unbedingt ma hin. Website ist super aufgebaut, dort kann man sämtliche Packages einsehn.

As I sat with my brother, skimming TripAdvisor, I pointed out that a gun range was the second highest-​rated thing to do in Miami. I was noting this jokingly, but my brother immediately said, «I’d do that!»
So we did.
Lock and Load is basically brand new. They opened in September of 2013. Everything is super-​shiny. And they have a helicopter hanging from the ceiling inside. Why not?
I’d never used a gun before, so I was a little nervous. But Mike, the manager (and a former cop), gave us solid instruction. You practice your stance with a plastic rifle… and Mike stood right next to us to help with every step of the process.
For $ 125, we did the Basic Training package. We shot the following…
* IMI UZI
* Glock 18 Submachine Gun
* Colt M4 Commando
Each gun came with 25 rounds for our shooting pleasure.
The Uzi was surprisingly heavy, and had an old-​school sight. So you line up a pair of metal pins and that’s how you shoot.
The Glock was our favorite. I always thought of a Glock as a pistol, but this one can go fully automatic, and they’ve put it in a casing so you can butt it against your shoulder for more stability. Mike told us the Glock was so fast, if we just held down the trigger, it would fire off all 25 rounds before any of the shells hit the ground. Holy ****! The Glock also looks like a super cool badass future weapon. It also has a holographic sight, so you can aim with both eyes open
The Colt has the same sight as the Glock, but it’s heavier and has a longer barrel. It’s the one that most looks like the average «machine gun» you see in the movies. Mike says SWAT teams train with that one.
Considering I was a total novice, I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed my time at Lock & Load. It also scared the hell out of me that weapons like this exist, floating around the streets and destroying elementary schools. I imagine if you’re pro-​NRA, this is like Disneyland. If you’re anti-​NRA (like me), this gives you a greater appreciation for the destruction these weapons can bring.
The only reason I bump off a star is that Lock & Load is *crazy* expensive. $ 125 for maybe five minutes of actual shooting time? Yeesh. But I suppose you can squeeze the trigger less frequently to extend your stay by a few seconds.
