Pretty thrilled with this place. Edwin did a great job with my haircut and beard. It’s a bit pricier than I’m used to but you can’t argue with the service and you can’t argue with the results. Great place — highly recommend!

I’m super meticulous about my hair, and let me tell you Lori just delivered one of the best cuts I’ve ever had! The attention to detail on the fade was better than anyone I’ve had in the city of Miami. The way she took care of the top was thought out, and on point. I came in with a pic of what I wanted (I’m that kind of haircut customer) and it’s nearly identical, but with her own custom twist.
Another great cut by J&H, but Lori is my new fav!

Normally I don’t write reviews, but after seeing Aly for color while I was visiting Miami, I felt a need to praise her skills! From the start of my appointment she made an effort to translate the photos I brought in as inspiration and explained what she thought would work best using my natural color as a base. I was seeking something «sun-​kissed»; i.e. hair that looks like I spend everyday at the beach (I wish). She was patient in answering all of my questions and gave me great styling tips as well. The result was a gorgeous, complex color that surpassed all my expectations, and I couldn’t be happier! I really appreciate how thorough and professional she was in every way. Not to mention she has a warm presence and is extremely knowledgeable about her craft. Thank you so much, Aly!

I love this place, I really do. But I’ve got a bone to pick with you Junior & Hatter. You guys do SUCH a beautiful job with hair. Extremely talented stylists. So much so that I have recommended others to visit your salon but the attitude, I just cant get behind it. I preface it every time I recommend a friend to visit… BUT I LOVE YOUR WORK. which is the most important part.
I went in after work one night and as per the usual, it was packed. I was welcomed by an older woman behind the receptionists desk and she was just awful. What a terrible first point of contact. Rude & off putting would be the best way to describe her. She asked me to take a seat on the couch. I look behind me and errrr there is no room on said couch. Which is totally fine so I stand around and after 15 minutes I take a seat on a random chair further down the salon. 10 minutes pass, said sassy woman lets me know that my hair stylist has been overbooked but somebody else is available. I say fine, I’ve waited long enough and Ill take whatever I can get.
Turns out I LOVED the job Samantha did. I felt like a new woman. She listened to my needs and truly gave me the haircut I was looking to get.
Overall, I would go back. But we warned, they’re not the nicest crowd.

Juan Pablo took really good care of me today, he listened carefully to what I wanted and executed perfectly. The man is a true artist. Very attentive, very friendly, very professional, very good cut. He offered me a selection of beverages, too. There was a Nintendo to play while I waited on the couch, but it was so short of a wait that I didn’t even finish the first level of Mario. I’m definitely coming back here for my next cut. $ 50 feels cheap for the quality results I got. Next time I feel «spendy» I might just have to ask for a hot shave to go with it for another $ 45. Interesting to see Wynwood Radio has a booth here. Thanks, Junior & Hatter, I’ll be back!

The good: Rene (now gone for good) and Edwin (in and out for weeks at a time) cut short hair (clippers) really well. I went to both on multiple occasions and they delivered a top-​notch hair cut each time.
The bad: First, it is now $ 50 for a basic haircut that takes 10 – 15 mins. Was $ 45 but increased after the first of the year (which they failed to tell me until checkout). Second, of the maybe half dozen times I’ve been, not once would I say I had a great customer service experience. No smiles, very little eye contact, and I don’t recall ever being greeted upon arrival. Generally I walk in and stand there for a minute or so until the conversation between two staff members pauses long enough for me to introduce myself. Because Edwin has been out intermittently I periodically call to see if he’s back. I do this weekly at this point and every time the girl that answers says he’s not around, doesn’t know when he’ll be back, AND NEVER RECOMMENDS ANYONE ELSE! It’s like I’m calling the guy’s house and his roommate answers. This is what $ 50 plus tip service looks like?
In other news my wife went there and paid a fortune to have her hair cut and colored. She booked the first available appt for that particular day but ended up waiting because her stylist squeezed someone else in before her. She then proceeded to do a poor job. My wife went back and someone else fixed it at no charge. In the end she was pleased.
I believe I’ve finally given up on this place. The great haircuts from Rene and Edwin kept me coming back despite all the negatives but now it’s time to find a new spot.

I’m a recent transplant from LA and in my 2 weeks as a Miami resident I searched aimlessly for my new hair guru and I have found her in Rachel at Junior and Hatter.
What initially attracted me to the place before even knowing it was a salon was the incredible white and black almost zig-​zag exterior. The interior is industrial and rustic and made me feel like a little piece of LA had made its way to Miami with me.
There is a overall cool and not pretentious vibe when you walk in, immediately I was «checked-​in» and told to take a seat and hangout for a bit until it was time for my appointment. I was greeted by Rachel’s assistant who politely asked me if I wanted anything to drink and she assured me that I would be seen within a few minutes. This was very reassuring as I’ve gone into countless salons and waited an eternity to be taken care of so the reassurance of being acknowledged by the Junior and Hatter staff was nice.
Finally meeting Rachel I told her what I was looking to get done and told her I was a bit anxious and didn’t want to lose too much length off the top as I still wanted to be able to pull my hair up and away from my face but I wanted to clean up the mullet situation I had grown out for a while. She assured me that she’d leave it long enough and I took my glasses off and blindly let her «do her thing». I felt more and more confident with her expertise when I found out that she focuses exclusively on cutting and not color… I actually loved this because it makes her a master at her trade.
All in all I can’t really express how satisfied I am with the way my hair looks, Rachel left me with a cut that is very manageable for my low maintenance routine. My cut looks clean, polished and feels so light (which I REALLY wanted). She dried my hair while I asked her a ton of questions on how I could make my hair look exactly the same when I did it myself and told her what products I used at home. (I loved that she didn’t try and sell me any additional products or was a pushy salon saleswoman, she was genuine and advised me to continue using my current product and which types of products to use and which ones to stay away from because of my hair type).
All in all I feel like a million bucks and paid less than $ 100 I’m 100% satisfied (and then some).
I would certainly recommend you give Rachel a try as she isn’t only extremely outgoing and exceptionally sweet but she is a mastermind with a pair of scissors. I am sending everyone I know her way.

This is my second time getting a cut and style. I really enjoy coming to Junior and Hatter, my hairdresser Giovanna Morano is a total gem! She was very attentive, genuine and made my experience top notch. She understood exactly what I wanted and my concern to keep my hair’s length while removing the bad. I’m in love with the way it turned out!

I am giving them a star for their location. Turns out they don’t cut your bangs (if that is all you want to get done) unless you are an existing customer or go ahead and get a full haircut. Hard to see how this approach would be good for business. I am definitely a first time, and potentially loyal customer because I value a good haircut, that will not be coming back.

I was very happy with the cut I got. It’s a fun quirky place with a good vibe. It is not a cheap place, but they do good work and I would go again.

Loved the atmosphere, but definitely a little overpriced for just a cut.
I have a pixie cut with a longer side bang. My hair is naturally curly but I wear it straight so when I scheduled the appointment they asked me to have it straight so they could cut it dry. This is pretty normal for me, so I didn’t think anything of it. My cut was a little jacked (my last stylist was not good with short/​curly hair) and Lori definitely did fix it for me, BUT for $ 80 I was expecting a little more than just a dry cut. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a salon where they didn’t wash and dry my hair when they cut it… even if they were cutting it dry.
So I’d probably have given them more stars because up until I paid I was cool with it, but I don’t think I could go back and pay that much for what I got. Especially knowing a men’s cut there is $ 45 with wash, dry and style, and with a pixie cut (beside my bang) my hair is not that much longer than a man’s. Not sure why I paid almost double for just a cut and very minimal styling.
So I went in loving it, but left feeling a little ripped off.

I love everything about this place. Mario is the best! Ask for him and tell him I sent you ;)
Super cool place, great staff, laid back environment and there’s even a Nintendo you can play while waiting. Right in the middle of Wynwood which is my favorite part of the city.

I am so glad I went here after reading reviews from Unilocal.Rene knew exactly what he is doing. He gave me recommendations on how I should do my hair and I had the most amazing haircut I have ever had.
Highly recommend for anyone who is looking to have a nice clean look.

I’m always scared of going to trendy places, specially in Wynwood, not only because it can get really crowded but most of all because they tend to be a magnet to posers. But i’m glad to say that Junior & Hatter broke away from that pack. They’re a cool, friendly and most definitely well prepared to make your hair dreams come true.
My stylist was Mitzie Velez and she was WONDERFUL I actually believe she was sent from heaven to help me! I have a heavy wave on my hair and I have been trying to grow it since I can remember but always at some point my wave gets so strong that I end up cutting it. And today I went with the same mission in mind but Mitzie help me out, gave me some recommendations and offer me something no one has ever offered me before… a solution. She told me to let it grow and that eventually we could do a keratin to smooth the wave.
But why was this so revolutionary? specially when keratin has been in our life for so long? Well it all resides in a statement my dear stylist gave me. «The male hair industry is changing, guys want to take more risks with their hair and in Junior & Hatter we want to be able to satisfy everybody and that’s why we like to push the envelope and do things differently».
So from now on this guy who gets a haircut every 2 to 3 weeks is taking his business to Junior & Hatter and I’m super excited to finally have the hairstyle I want with the help of Mitzie. Special thanks to Michele who was really insightful and helpful.

Today was my first day. Because for so many years I went to the my friend for cut my hair. But o want something different. And take a chance. Very happy with the results. Edwin Javier. Change my lion 360. I really like this place. And for sure. Coming back.

I have been floating around Miami for years trying to find a good salon, it was either outrageously expensive, not satisfactory or often both. I was SO happy when I found Junior & Hatter I finally have a place I can rely on and keep going back to! It is a great atmosphere, not ridiculously priced (though certainly not cheap, but well priced for the area and what you get), and they always do an amazing job!

Aside from having a hard time actually finding this place inside of the building, my experience was great. As soon as I got in my stylist, Samantha, was ready to greet me. She asked if I wanted water, coffee or tea… I got water in a cute little mason jar. The place is really fun on the inside with great décor and great music playing the whole time.
I went in to get my highlights fixed, which were a big mess and the color had changed and it just looked too blonde and dead. Anyway, I’m a brunette so I asked Sam for her suggestion on what to do with the color and cut. She decided to paint the highlights in and give me lots of layers.
Ok. When I say she nailed it, I mean she knocked this out of the park. I have never been this happy or impressed with my color and cut. I’m seriously over the moon with how my hair looks.
The only reason I took away a star is because I think the prices are a little too high. The half highlights, cut and dry was $ 200! I think if they lowered their prices a bit the place would be crazy packed all the time. Now, this was a birthday splurge, so I didn’t mind. But, I’m not sure if my pocket will be able to afford it again.

There was a time in my life when I was cutting my own hair. I mean, I’ve just never much cared for grooming, and I certainly never much cared to pay for it. Treating myself, it was going to Supercuts for a quick, seventeen-​dollar shearing. Worth every GD penny, too.
Because why pay more, right?
Well, whatever, I decided to treat myself a few weeks back at Junior & Hatter. And I won’t lie: talking to myself, it really took some convincing to get me to set the appointment. My caveman logic — my lizard brain — it just doesn’t much comprehend paying $ 45 for a haircut.
Cousin, I tell you: worth every penny.
Now, I’ll be honest: I will NOT be coming to Junior & Hatter for each and every one of my four-​to-​six haircuts per year. I mean, I’m not rolling in it, you know? Plus, the bulk of my monies is allocated toward tacos and whiskey, so these haircuts, there’s just very little room for them — financially — in my life. But I’ll tell you, when I’m looking to really get something job interview– or wedding-​worthy, I’m setting my sights on J&H. Tractor beam focus, man, I’m telling you. The care, the attention to detail, and just the final product. All of it. The staff here, they’re pros, and it’s Nike compared to British Knights. Sure, we all loved our BKs growing up, but they’re not what you were hoping Santa would bring you at Christmas.
My only gripe? I wasn’t offered a drink. I mean a DRINK drink. J&H, you owe me.

Such a cool spot! I’ve been wanting Robert to cut and color my hair for awhile now but was 1) scared to switch hairdressers and 2) concerned the services would be super pricey. I finally took the plunge yesterday and was beyond pleased.
Six months ago, I cut my very long, highlighted-​for-​years hair to shoulder length and brown. My former hairdresser gave me a cutesy bob when I wanted edgy. I gave her another opportunity but I still didn’t get edgy. So it was time to give Robert a whirl.
My former roommate and bff has been going to Robert for forever and I’ve always liked her color. Robert is super nice. Nothing is pretentious about this salon. All of the staff is darling. The space is super cool. They have a separate barbershop in the back. The neighborhood is super cool. Now to my cut and color. The color is fab. The bob is now bye bye cutesy and hello edgy. And the price was exactly the same as I’d been paying at a salon all the way in bf Weston.
I’m thrilled I gave Robert at Junior & Hatter a whirl. I’ve found my new hair home.

I’ll make this short:
I don’t have the best hair in the world, but the stylists at Junior & Hatter definitely get an A+ and all the gold star stickers for being able to take care of my hair (on my head and on my chin) in a jiffy. Kind, courteous and always a good vibe in there. Definitely recommend making an appointment so you can get your stylists full attention, making your experience worthwhile. If you have to wait for a bit, get your retro-​game on and slap on Tecmo Bowl on their NES.
