I almost wanted to write that this place sucks, so that people don’t go and I can have it all to myself bwahaha. However, In REALITY this place is my new favorite hidden gem in Miami. I honestly don’t know what took me so long to discover this lovely spot. Now let’s get down to the needy greedy. Let me start off by saying the décor in this place is lovely. This restaurants is one of those Instagram perfect food photo location(if you know what I mean). Because of all the lighting and the beautiful yet simplistic decoration, it makes you feel like home. As for the food, we had the margherita pizza and it was the perfect combination of deliciously melted cheese and not too much breading! I also couldn’t take my eyes off the pistachio Éclair because I mean who doesn’t love pistachio on everything? I also had never seen a pistachio éclair before and I had to have it. Boy am I glad I had it! Ever since my visit here I dream about this pistachio Éclair. All in all, this place is a must try and if you go don’t forget to grab some of their very interesting assortment of deserts.

I never write these things, but I had to in this case. This was the best meal I’ve had in Miami. Best bread anywhere. Jake’s salad was the best anywhere. I asked if I could buy some dressing to take home and they kindly gave me some. Very sweet people with a real passion for food.

The food was so good that I am writing this review just now, moments after finishing the meal. Delivery was great and timely. The food was still fresh. The Breakfast burrito was fantastic. thick cut ham, and it was nicely pressed. The fruit salad DOESNOTHAVEMELON in it, which is a rarity, and fantastic for someone like me who is not overly fond of melon, and the melon taste it usually leaves on all the other fruits. Had a lemon tart for dessert and it was scrumptious. I enjoyed this meal so much i’m thinking about ordering from this place again for dinner.

The tuna melt from this place is the best I’ve ever had. Their desserts, smoothies and juices are also very good. Only thing they could improvee is the time they take to serve your food. You order form the cashier and form that point on it may take about 30mins to get your food. They make everything form scratch and to order so they do take a little longer than your average sándwich café spot. Just keep this in mind when you go. Overall a great place for breakfast/lunch.

Very dissapointed when going to pick up my food and saw the cook«Omar» prepare The salads with his bare hands! Additionally, he grabbed the croutons I asked the same way(bare hands) and as he was handling it to me scratched his privates! just unacceptable!!!

I write this review in the hopes that the owner or general manager of this establishment reads it. The one-star rating I have applied is not for the food or the service. Unfortunately, I was unable to even set foot inside Jake & the Cake. My girlfriend and I were parked outside the store in two separate cars and decided to finish a conversation we were having in my girlfriend’s car(to be fair, it was a long conversation). A few moments later, we notice an employee exit the side door, look at us, and go back inside. Shortly after, the same employee comes out, this time with his phone in hand, looking at the tow-away sign, looks back at his phone, then types on his phone, all the while giving us glances. We continue with our conversation, but by this time, my girlfriend and I have started to wonder what this man is doing. We then notice him walk around our cars and take a picture of my license plate. It was obvious at this point that this man was trying to get us towed. We immediately felt unwelcome and eventually left. What disturbs me about the situation is that it appears the man assumed we were not paying customers. Otherwise, why would he call to have us towed? He did not speak to us, which means he could not have known whether or not we were patrons or if we were just parking. I wish I could have tried this little bakery that has gotten wonderful reviews for its food and ambiance. I hope to get a response from the management of this business. I will happily change my review once I have tried the place, but for now, I refuse to give them my business.

This is a great little place and I am sharing it with all of you bc I want it to last. This seems like a mom and pop with the chef taking great pride in his food. There are a few pizza options — each made fresh as you watch. The pear truffle was delish although a bit heavy on the truffle. Cheese pizza was hot with the right amount of saltiness and a great chew-crunch ratio. I will be craving this again — and so will the rest of my family. I also had the greek salad with chicken — greens were fresh and it was perfectly, lightly dressed. They also serve juices, smoothies, sandwiches and breakfast items. Because of nut allergies, we had to pass on many of the amazing looking cakes(like hazelnut) and a round almond-topped praline bread. The guava cookie was just ok — I hoped they had taken more advantage of infusing guava flavor but it was more like a good sugar cookie. I will def try another cookie next time or maybe an éclair! As for décor — The place feels cozy yet it is decorated in a clean modern style. There are regular tables, a bar height communal table and a mini living room type section. Also, you order at counter and pick up your food when ready. Water, utensils, napkins are self serve. They deliver as well. Overall, a great casual spot for bfast or lunch.

This is my second visit to Jake & the Cake and I was as impressed as my first visit. Consistency in food and service is something that is so important to keep customers coming back and I must say they nailed it. I ordered the same exact thing as my first visit because I hadn’t stopped thinking of how great the pizza and salad was since my first visit. I ordered the strawberry salad which combines the sweetness of the strawberries and candied walnuts with the tanginess of the goat cheese. I also had the Meat Eaters Pizza. I usually don’t like so many different variety of meats on the pizza, but on my first visit my friend made the suggestion and I was pleasantly surprised. One of the things I noticed is that the pizza is not saturated with grease which is usually the case when ordering different meats on a pizza. All of the ingredients used are of good quality. Of course the experience would not be complete without the sweets. OMG the pistachio eclairs are to die for. Those are definitely the must have item, but that does not diminish any of the other items. I also had the chocolate tart which was perfect with an amazing crust. On my second visit I had the Guava chunk cookies and Guava Profiteroles. The cookie had big chunks of Guava and was a great alternative to the usual chocolate chunks, highly recommend if you are a Guava lover like myself. The Profiteroles had a Guava custard inside the pastry and was another winner. Besides the amazing food the service has been on point on both visits. You order and pay at the counter and they bring the food to the table. Everyone is so friendly and nice that I had a hard time figuring out who Jake was. The staff is that good, you could tell that they really like what they are doing in this establishment. From the person who takes your order, to the person who prepares your salad and pizza and from Jake himself. Can’t wait to return.

I love dessert and was really hoping Jake & The Cake would stand up to the test. Went here today for the first time and I was EXTREMELYPLEASED! The setup is really cute. There are plenty of tables, and the dessert display is beautiful. We were immediately greeted when we walked in, which I think of as a huge bonus for a Miami business. We were also given free samples of a new blondie with caramel on top that the man in the back was coming up with! I posted a picture. It was AMAZING. Because I am a sucker for new and shiny things, I went with the blondie for my purchase. My friends got a Paris brest(SOGOOD), a peanut butter cookie(yum, but not my usual go-to), and an éclair(I didn’t try it, but she liked it!). Prices are a little high(around $ 5 for each item), BUT the quality of the products is really high and the items are all really big! They could be two servings or one big serving if you are very hungry! I think they are definitely shareable, which makes the price more palatable. I checked out the menu and there is a ton of real food as well, including salads and sandwiches, plus smoothies and juices. I REALLY want to come back to have lunch, with dessert of course. We took our desserts to-go, but next time I would like to stay and enjoy the natural light and cute ambience!

We just tried this new bakery in south Miami. The place is clean but lacks some fun vibes. We tasted the chocolate éclair and praline one, as well as the chocolate doughnut éclair. The cream was good but the puff a little dry. It’s a little pricey but worth a try.

OMG the selection of sweets is to die for! I have had a few so far and they are just amazing and delicious. I also love that they have other food besides just the bakery. We had a pizza for lunch and it was perfectly cooked. The space is ample and airy there is plenty of seating and it is always nice and clean. The staff is friendly and attentive and everyone must try their shakes!!! So fresh and yummy! Love this place will definitely be coming back!

I’ve been twice to Jake & the Cake and both times the food has been great! The first time I had a breakfast sandwich and the second time I tried their scrambled egg Pizza, which is like nothing I’ve tasted before. They even add chipotle and jalapeño sauce, making it perfectly spicy hot. The décor give you a a very cozy feeling, they did a great job rehabbing the old pizza rustica, making it now look more modern, clean and inviting. Finally I have to compliment them on their pastries, apparently the owner is a graduate from the Cordon Bleau and knows his pastries well. The presentation and flavor is at the level of the best French pastries I’ve been to. Good job Jake & Cake, you’ve won me over!

Awesome, but that does not say enough. The best sandwich I ever had in Miami(and most of the country). Fresh bread, fresh roasted chicken, jalapeño aioli, Munster cheese and a cilantro pesto to top it off. Try it before the line forms… Update: I tried their breakfast yesterday; I had the Eggs Benedict. Not your standard Eggs Benedict, as they use their fresh made onsite toasted bread, with two pouched eggs on a very nice ham. That is pretty standard, except the eggs were cooked to perfection. Finally they add a silky slightly spicy Hollandaise sauce. It is pretty sad, that I have been dreaming of this Hollandaise sauce since then. You can not go wrong. They will also do things especially for you, Like the water has limes in it, or if you want to take home some of that fantastic fresh bread, or if you want something a little different on your sandwich or pizza. And a serious MUST: try the house special desert. It looks like a donut filled with cream, how wrong you would be. It is a light flaky dough in the shape of a donut, willed with a flavorful pistachio cream. I can’t wait to try more off of there menu.

I love the food at this place. They just opened next to my job and is very convenient to go. I underestimated their salad but is extremely delicious. I just think is a little overpriced compared to any salad you can get at any other location. However is really good for a quick lunch break.

I’m so happy they opened this place right down the street from where I work! This used to be a Pizza Rustica, but fear not pizza lovers, they also have pizza! Aside from pizza, they have cake(duh,) salads, sandwiches, juices, smoothies, coffee, and more! The place is nicely decorated and the staff was extremely friendly! There is plenty of seating inside and they have a little private lot. I had the BBQ pizza, which was delicious! To drink, I had their Hangover drink which is one of their most popular juices, and WOAH, was it good. Pineapple, green apple, ginger, lime, and topped off with cayenne pepper. YES, cayenne pepper! It gave it a nice kick! The drink was $ 9, which I thought was a little pricey, but hey, all the ingredients are natural and it tastes great. I will definitely be a regular at this spot!

Tried Jake & the Cake for the first time and I’m obsessed! Everything was freshly made and the customer service was great. I had the Mexican chicken sandwich, which was delicious, accompanied by a side salad. The friends that joined me for lunch had a prosciutto pizza and a bbq chicken pizza, both of which were made fresh and were absolutely delicious. The staff was kind enough to provide us with free samples of the«Hangover» juice which was INCREDIBLE! We all shared a pistachio éclair and a slice of lemon cake for dessert, both of which were very good. The atmosphere is very warm and soothing and I will definitely be visiting often. Looking forward to trying breakfast! It’s nice to have such a unique bakery/café in the heart of South Miami. We definitely needed something like this!
