George Stone Crab

George’s is my number one source for delivered stoned crabs. I have been using them for years, and I have never had a problem with the service and the product. The crabs are always fresh, and I can’t beat the price. Delivery is easy and prompt. They offer cracked or uncracked crabs of all sizes.

We used a groupon for delivery while staying in South beach. Plan ahead and read the fine print, but wow do they deliver! Crabs arrived cracked, on ice, and in a cooler, with a mallet, small forks, mustard and hand wipes!
While still pricy, Stone Crabs are a special treat, and OMG, Georges made us so happy!
A bottle of wine, and some ice cream for desert and we are in heaven!

These guys are by far the best place to get stone crab! The whole experience is top notch from the taste and freshness to the customer service. They outshine their retail and restaurant competitors easily!
I would recommend George’s to anyone as they are reasonably priced, make the ordering and delivery process simple and provide the best tasting and quality product.

I purchased this great deal from Groupon. I was having an intimate dinner party with friends and the stone crabs they delivered were out of this world. From the packaging, crab cracker and sauce this is a deal you can’t pass on. It was such a hit all my girlfriends purchased the Groupon as well. Way better value than Joe’s.

These guys did awesome. My dad loved the stone crabs, they were very fresh and tasty. I was going to buy them at Joe’s stone crab but I gave these guys a shot. I saved myself a trip by ordering delivery. I also saved like $ 70. I will be ordering again very soon :).

Have to thank George Stone Crab for sending me the yummiest stone crabs I’ve ever had! Fresh, delicious and directly at my door step! A dream come true for a crab lover like myself! Will definitely be ordering again and spreading the word!

George Stone Crab definitely lives up to the hype of its customer service. I ordered over the phone and received my package so fast. Their stone crab claws are fresh and the sauce is really flavorful. This order left a little dent in my wallet, but it was all worth it.

I really don’t know why I had not ordered from George stone crab before. To think I have this gem available at my fingertips this entire time and yet I continued to go to the same old places.
I received them beautifully packed. The only thing I can say is WOW WOW WOW! I mean amazing. The meat so tender and soft. The experience is just exiting. The mustard dipping sauce was delicious. Their price is better than from any other of their competitors. The only flaw, we ran out!
I recommend ordering from this place without a doubt. The quality of this product is exceptional!

Shocked at the low amount of stars, as I have used this service many times, including the Groupon, and have had nothing but good experiences. The Groupon was $ 30 for $ 50 toward 3 lbs. of fresh stone crab dinner for two people. «Towards» is the key word, as I’ve seen this before on Groupon — like $ 50 towards your dinner at a restaurant. It doesn’t mean your dinner is going to come to $ 50. So, no, you cannot buy exactly $ 50 worth of stone crab. The typical minimum order to be delivered in Miami is a four person meal, but if you have the Groupon, you can get the two-​person meal. The two person meal was about $ 95 for medium claws, so I paid $ 45 after the Groupon credit. Add that to the amount I paid for the Groupon ($ 30) and I got 3 pounds of pre-​cracked claws for $ 75, which is pretty good. I’ve also had good experience with their customer service, I had an issue with one order and they resolved the issue within an hour of delivery.

I too got caught in the Groupon scam. Can’t afford the overcosts so guess I just donated $ 42 to George’s. Do not buy anything from these pirates.

This is our favorite stone crab stop in Miami! They have delivery right to your door in less than 24 hours. The crabs are always fresh and they even come with that fantastic mustard dipping sauce. For dessert they have an amazing key lime pie that is to die for! 4 thumbs up here!

Where do I start. I should have read the Unilocal review before purchasing stone crab from George’s in Miami. I understand why it got 2.5 stars vs. the 4 stars bestowed on Joe’s Stone Crab. George Stone Crab got 3 one star ratings just this year. Two words, customer service.
The first shipment arrived in a box with the crab on top of the ice instead of packaged together. This was after the order sat on the FedEx truck. The crab was small with no mallet to crack it. After leaving several messages, I finally connected with Wes and I believe the CEO. They agreed to reship the order due to all the issues. Either the CEO or Wes said I could reorder and get the equivalent in large or jumbo crab. Of course everyone had amnesia when I finally placed the order. I believe Wes was the one that said it is like buying a 42″ TV and returning it for a 50″. I think not. I asked for the equivalent of what I purchased. Similar to the 42 inch TV, I should have been able to apply the credit towards what I wanted which wasn’t a small crab that I would have to fight to get the meat.
I was assured that there was a new shipping process that would pack the crab with the ice so that the crab wouldn’t be separated from the ice pack during shipment. Again, of course this didn’t happen. I’m wondering who packed the crab since I was on the phone with Wes until at least 10:00 pm EDT and I received the order the next day. I received the order the same as the first order except there was a mallet included. I will never do business with George’s Stone Crab. Someone in the office told me that George’s supplies Joe’s Stone Crab. That may be; however, Joe’s needs to supply George’s with the Customer Service they are so desperately lacking.

Be careful! This company does not clearly disclose the terms of their «deals» on Groupon. They require you to buy a minimum amount of crab at exorbitant prices then shipping to California was another $ 95 dollars. Just wasted $ 60 on Groupon because I refuse to spend money with this company. Given the other comments on Unilocal (check out the ones «not recommended» by Unilocal As well) this is a common problem. Must be an easy way to add to their bottom line.

Ugh, this company has ‘deals’ on flash sites like Groupon and Giltcity. The deal sounds fine at first blush… $ 30 for $ 60 worth of site credit. But they hide/​gloss over the fact that there is a minimum pound weight to use the credit. So while you may be saving $ 30, you have to buy $ 140 worth of claws. If you try to contact them, you’ll have to leave several messages before they bother to call you back. And when you talk to them on the phone you get a pretty good idea that this is a scam. Not to mention that their prices are higher than most. How are the crabs? I don’t know… I might just not bother ordering rather than spend any more money at this lame excuse for a company.

I have been using these guys for awhile and Wesley never disappoints. The large claws are the best. Keep up the great work.

A sensible merchant would mention in the Groupon offer that there is a minimum 3 or 5 lbs purchase per order.

Horrible customer service. Don’t waste your time. Ownership/​management is AWOL. Placed an order on Website. website crashed and has been down for over a week. Phone rings and rings. When it is answered they cannot assist with online orders. Also had a friend buy a Groupon and he hasn’t been able to use it because the website is down.

We ordered from George Stone Crab and received out order the next day. We received our order at the designated time and enjoyed a hearty lunch. They were delicious. I enjoyed the sauce that came with the crabs and I also warmed up some butter and lemon as well. Next time maybe the jumbos?

I’ve left them a voice mail, email and even Facebook stalked them, but I cannot seem to get anyone to acknowledge my attempts to place an order…

There’s nothing I love more than giant stone crab claws smothered in mustard sauce. Ok, fine, I’m lying — I also love buzzy label handbags, FaceBook stalking, cream chipped beef and bad reality TV but that’s a whole other story.
I ordered George Stone Crabs (yes, it drives me nut that’s there’s no apostrophe in the biz name, but that’s yet another story) last week and again this week because they are fresh, quick, cracked, affordable and their mustard sauce is as good as Joe’s. No lie.
The only glitch here is there’s a 5-​pound minimum which equates to spending an estimated $ 115 a pop. I do love the notion that they crack the claws for you and deliver lemon wipes, too.
All in all, a great option to waiting the 1 hour wait at Joe’s. Plus, you can eat ‘em in front of the telly while watching the latest episode of Survivor.
