Gables Sedation & Family Dentistry

I´ve been a client since 2012, and I am one of those «cowards» when it comes to dentistry needs, yet I understand the importance of a good health care. Being terrified by previous experiences in Miami (where the lack of ethic is abundant) finding Gables Sedation was the best thing that could happen to me. They are incredible patience and understanding. They are caring and trustworthy. Their prices are not the lowest in town, but I am not cheap with my dental health. They are in an average price, and the implants are lower than most. You pay not only a highly qualified personnel but also top professionals with the latest technology. I feel safe because I know they care about me and not just about my checkbook.
They gave me back my smile. Was it a long restoration process? Yes. Was it worth it? absolutely.

Called to make an emergency appt (cavity fell out) on a Monday and was given an appt for that Wednesday @ 9:30 am (mind you they don’t open till 10 am) I arrived at 9:25 and didn’t get called into an exam room until 10:40 am. I waited because I really needed my tooth fixed. I was looked at by the Dental assistant for maybe 1 minute and she said «yes a piece of your cavity fell out» and the dr will be with you shortly and then she left. About 40 mins later (now maybe 11:25 am) the finance lady comes in and says to follow her so I did. She brings me into her office and proceeds to tell me what I owe for the visit and when would I like my apt for and I said «how about now since I have been here for 2 hours now and nothing has been done. She said no, you were scheduled for a consult when I specifically said when I made the apt that I needed it fixed that day and they said yes. Left very upset and I waited 2 hours and wasted my time for nothing. My dental benefits is something they could’ve told me over the phone and I know this because I myself run a doctor’s office. Needless to say I will not be going back there again.

This is the best dentist I’ve been to. Great staff and great service. The waiting in the waiting room is always short.

I’ve been coming here for a few years now and my experience has been very positive every time. I’ve mostly come for cleaning and they do a great job. I would recommend this dentist.

This is the worst Dentistry ever. They are always canceling appointments. The last time I was there Fornaris told me «I was frustrated» for a wisdom tooth pain that has been giving me pain for 5 months now. Instead of telling me that I was frustrated, he should of done something about the pain or given me a remedy. My appointment was at 4:30PM and when i sat down on the chair to be seen by the doctor, i ended up waiting forever to see him because apparently that wasn’t part of his plans, he just gave me a prescription for antibiotics and had the nurse bring it in. He actually only came to my room to see me when i mentioned to the nurse that i was going to go see another doctor because the pain wasn’t going away. I’ve been going here for a while because of the convenience of having it in the corner of my house but I will definitely be switching to another Dentistry. They ended up taking a CT scan, but when it came down to getting the results they said … that the CT scan was not scanned onto the computer properly and asked if they can do it again. At this point i was extremely upset and told them no! that i did not want any other procedures done, and that is when i left! I will never go back there again.

Since I last reviewed Gables Sedation Dentistry, I’ve returned for I believe 2 checkups/​cleanings and also to have an older, deteriorating filling replaced. I’m happy to say that this office seems to have resolved the concerns that caused me to give them a less than stellar review about a year and a half ago. This place once again seems worthy of the 4 stars I’d originally given them after my initial visit here.
The past few visits have been great, with a phone call the day before to remind me of my appointment times (though they did make a mistake on the time when they called about one recent appointment, telling me I was scheduled an hour earlier than we’d discussed and that the receptionist had written on the card; They did correct the time after I reminded them). During my past few cleanings, I was also able to see the original hygienist who I’d really liked so much (she cares about what she does, she cares about her patients and it really shows!), I was offered nitrous oxide (aka laughing gas) if necessary to calm me before and during the cleaning (though I declined it during my last checkup, as the severe tooth sensitivity that caused me to visit this office originally seems to have subsided and improved… IMO, the decreased sensitivity is in part due to the prescription they wrote for a special toothpaste). I’ve also received a follow up courtesy call the day after my last few visits, just to ensure everything is going OK and that I’m not experiencing any concerns or problems.
During a recent checkup, I was told that one of my older fillings was deteriorating and needed to be replaced as it may cause a cavity if not dealt with. I scheduled the appointment to have that done a few weeks later when the doctor was available; I once again got a call the day before to remind me of the appointment time, I was taken on time when I arrived, the doctor was great, asking if I had any questions and talking me through the procedure, I was offered nitrous oxide if necessary to calm me, given plenty of Novocain to numb the tooth, the hygienist made conversation while the doc was away working with other patients, and the procedure was quick, easy and completely painless, with the doc stopping a few times to ask if I was OK. As I was being taken back to the room to have my filling done, and as I was being led back to the receptionist afterward, I noted that every staff member I passed smiled, spoke and were friendly and outgoing. Refreshing, especially in a city where customer service and friendly staff are sometimes a rare find.
I’m happy to once again say that Gables Sedation Dentistry is worthy of your consideration if you have sensitivity, if you fear dentists, have had bad experiences in the dental chair in the past, or have a lot of anxiety when visiting them. This place seems to have trained or perhaps changed out some of their staff, and some of the things that made them less than stellar to deal with in the past have been improved upon. This is really great to see, as I really wanted to love this place when I first visited them. Now it feels like I can once again.

To me this seems like a VIP dentist experience. Its physically beautiful and clean, the staff seem to be at the top of their game and I haven’t had any of the problems that others complain about here in these reviews. The insurance coverage is what it is — so if my out-​of-​pocket expense is going to be the same — I’d rather it be at a nice place like this. I don’t need any of the sedation aspect — I just treat it like a regular dentist. My wife does need sedation and she looks forward to the gas before we even park the car :)

Appointments in this office are always so pleasant! The hygienist, the Doctor’s and the staff are always very caring. They always do the best they could in order to accommodate you one way or another. I never really enjoyed my dentist visits, but I could say this office really changed my point of view. :)
