Flowersand Freshness

i read great reviews about this company (on their own website, silly me) so i decided to give it a try for my wedding. biggest mistake ever! i received the flowers all «weak» looking — first, i thought it was because of the travel time (i had read elsewhere that the flowers don’t arrive looking fresh, and that i’d need to put them in water and they’d get fresh and nice). so i put them all in water, with the flower food that came with, and waited for the flowers to come to life. they never did. luckily, i had a «vintage» theme for my wedding, so they kind-​of-​sort-​of worked out, but i was so furious with the quality of the flowers! i have pictures of almost 2 dozen flowers that could not be used (they looked like flowers 3 weeks old, no joke). i didn’t contact them to complain, bc 1) it’s not like they can send replacement flowers in such short notice and 2) i had a million other stuff to take care of. i didn’t even want to bother sending a review, but they kindly reminded me to, so here you go.

I ordered 100 hot pink roses as I needed the 24 hour delivery. They called the day they were to be delivered and said they couldn’t send them until the following day. Too late and now I have to scramble to find flowers nearby. They should have called me yesterday so I had time to figure out an alternative. I chose them because they had 24hour delivery. I would never use again based on that and if you do, make sure you have a backup plan and give yourself enough time. The lady who called me said I should have given myself more time. really, well then why do you offer 24 hour delivery? I didn’t see their flowers because I requested my money back and to cancel so I can’t comment on their quality.

I took a chance and used flowers from Flowers & Freshness for my wedding, and the results were amazing! I went with all garden roses of many different colors, plus a few lisianthus/​fillers, and they turned out beautifully. Customer support (I mostly did chatting online) was really helpful. (They were able to do more colors per box than the website listed, for example, so I got a good variety.)
I read reviews online from other customers saying that their colors didn’t come out as they hoped, or that they were out of colors at the last minute, but I think this is to be expected when you’re dealing with highly perishable agricultural products. I’d recommend doing what I did and buying a variety of colors to mix and match (in the end, they were short or out of a couple of the eight or so colors I wanted, but it was no big deal for me).
I got my flowers two or three days before the wedding, and at first they looked really sad (I suppose a long trip without water will do that — brace yourself for an initial shock) but by the time my wedding rolled around they were nicely hydrated and totally beautiful.
For about $ 650 I was able to have flowers that probably would have cost $ 3,000-$ 5,000 with a local florist. I did low, easy arrangements (with only garden roses, about three roses per mason jar) and made simple bouquets so the DIY aspect wasn’t much of a challenge or a time sink. (Way lamer things for my wedding took a LOT longer to DIY.) Highly recommended!
