Firehouse Subs

Waaaaaay better than Subway subs!!! Prices are reasonable, food is fresh, and plenty of parking. Definitely try the Italian sub!!!

The service at this place os good, I think the owner help me today and he was really nice. The subs are good quality and it’s very clean.

This firehouse is underrated! We have been here several times and have been greeted with excellent service! Our order comes out quick, the food is delicious, and it is never as full of people as it should be. The hook and ladder is my favorite sub overall, but the Italian sub is close behind. My wife gets the tuna which she always gets because it is so good. They also have that new electronic soda machine and free refills. I will certainly be coming back!

After driving by this place pretty much every week for a year, we decided to give it a try! It’s tucked in the corner by the yogurt place (Pinkberry, I think?) and is also visible from the main road.
From the looks of the place, I expected it to be very similar to Togo’s or Subway. Unfortunately it’s not. We waited an exceptionally long time for our two medium sized sandwiches, which was surprising to me since sandwiches are relatively fast meals to put together. (Back in the day when I used to work in a sandwich shop, taking 15 – 20 minutes to get a customer’s order out would’ve gotten me fired!)
We ordered two subs: a meatball, and a (can’t remember the name to save my life — but it had ham, salami, cheese, and a delicious sauce!) only one of our sandwiches was warmed up, (I’ll give you two guesses which one it was!) yet we still waited an awfully long time to be served.
The meatball sub was good. Something about the smell of it kept reminding me of minestrone soup while I was eating, but I love minestrone so it wasn’t a turn off! The other sub was delicious. Their standard subs come heated, but we asked for this one to be cold. Everything about it was delicious. There was a sauce (possibly honey Dijon or something along those lines) that was absolutely wonderful. The bread was good, the cold cuts were good, and overall it was a well put together sandwich.
I think if you’re looking for a place to grab a quick meal, you should hit up a Subway, but if you’ve got some time to kill, this is a great option!

This place has great subs. Always get friendly service. The restaurant looks clean and well maintained every time I have come. And now they just told me kids 12 and under eat free from 4 – 9 pm

If I could give this place zero stars I would. No one speaks english and after making my sub incorrectly and being promised a new one I had to wait 20 mins because no one put in the order and all the workers were just sitting in the back eating.

I’ve been in the mood for something different and that what keeps me coming back. Their subs are good, but not outrageous. i had the meatball sub which is really nice. I am a huge fan of the new multi-​flavor coke machines. The big issue is there so much better food in the area that unless you are in the mood for a sub there’s better food all around.

Had a craving for a good sub. happened to be in the area and decided to give it a try. Very glad I stopped here! Had the Club on a Sub, man what a sandwich! The portions are huge and unbelievably tasty! Top it off with a Sprite from their fountain and you’ve got a meal to satisfy you for a while. Decoration is pretty cool and so is their hot sauce station.
We will definitely be back to try out the rest of their menu.

Me and my wife were deciding what to eat for dinner and thought firehouse subs would be a good place to try, we were so wrong. Let’s start with what was ordered. I had a Turkey Bacon Ranch with a bowl of chili my wife had an Italian and we both had chocolate chip cookies. My complaints begin with the fact that I am a bacon lover and feel that bacon should be crispy, this was not the case. It looked like it was pre microwaved bacon. Also my sandwich was wet worst thing in the world!!! This place is almost as good as Subway! Now I do give credit where credit is due and the chili was really good it’s why I gave an extra star. As for the cookies not fresh at all!!! Subway has better cookies!

Finally had the chance to stop by this place and see what all the fuss my friend was making about it was. Overall it was an Ok steak and cheese sub. Would I rank it in my top 5 probably not. It was tasty and the bread was soft like a good ol fashion sub. But it felt to commercialized. The meet looked like it came from a package not some fresh steak like what you would get at a more traditional sub shop. It was not bad I repeat not bad at all but just not what i expected.
Service was cool the guy that took my order was friendly and made a few jokes so it was easy to complete the transaction. The spot was big so it had plenty tables and was nice and clean. They also have the big Coke machine that has like a million flavors lol.
Would i go back probably they have a lot of different subs and there might better ones to try. Anyone got any suggested ones please feel free to comment back.

I just left this place and I’m pretty irritated. The subs are great, the service is not.
With three customers in the entire restaurant I was waiting 25 minutes for two subs. Only to get a soggy sub, and not how it ordered it. I work right in the plaza so it wasn’t in my hands long enough to get soggy. If a customer is sitting in front of you and you are taking 25 minutes for an order, at least get the order right.
If there is anything they should take from their competitors its the ease of walking in and right out with a fresh sub.

I am glad they have Firehouse in Kendall. I used to eat this all the time when I lives in Orlando a few years back. In my opinion the hot subs are the way to go. They have a a pretty good menu and the subs are pretty flavorful. My go to sub is the meatball. The steak and cheese is yummy and the beef and cheddar brisket sub is super tasty if your into sweet bbq sauce. It can be pricey because it is just subs but nothing that will break the bank… Share a soda ;)
I give it 4 stars because when its packed you might wait 15 min for your sub.

been here twice. ordered the same thing blth times — the Hook & Ladder sub. Its very tasty. The y are very limited on their toppings though.

Finally made it to one of these to try the subs I have heard about. Place is new, big & clean. Service was good. Hubby went for the steak and cheese and I chose the Italian. We both ordered large sizes and made one of them a combo. $ 22 total, pricier than subway for example. We both felt the steak and cheese was definitely better than the Italian. It was juicy and very tasty, a sub I’d come back here for. The Italian was ok but I felt it needed something. Perhaps more toppings would have helped (cucumbers, banana peppers, olives, something!). It also had a bit more ham than I prefer but my husband enjoyed it. Glad we have one of these in kendall. Will be returning to either try a diff sub or simply have another steak and cheese. Kid’s menu items are $ 4ish and include a firefighter hat.

I love Firehouse subs, but this franchise establishment will give people the wrong idea of the great subs and service they actually have and known for. There is a lack of hot sauces, even some bottles sitting empty on the rack. The sweet tea can be sweeter. And the turn around time on providing the sub should have been faster. We were the only couple in the restaurant that ordered. Even the garbage can is hidden in the corner. The sitting area is great because it is large and several tvs. However, for a true firehouse experience the Doral location is much better.

The service was good the prices where fair. I enjoyed the sub i ate. I would definitely recommend this place

I was looking forward to trying their subs; however, I must say that I wasn’t impressed. First off the size of the subs in our case we ordered the medium size, were so small that when we got home and opened the bag we immediately thought that these subs were not going to fill us. The price was ok I guess for the size sub, but definitely not what we expected. I also didn’t like the wait time, we waited 10 – 15 mins for 4 subs, I think that was too long.
I was totally disappointed. The only good thing I can say about my experience is that their brownies are really good.
The subs at hungry bear or publix are much better than the ones We had at Firehouse subs.
Sorry to their fans but it was my experience :(

Come by and enjoy one of the best subs you’ll try. The options are good enough to fill you up, great suggestion made by the employees based on my «likes». Go healthy or break your diet… Arghh I had to do that with mine LOL, but soooo worthy!

Great addition to Kendall!
Located right next to Anthony’s Coal Fire. Good size place with plenty of tables to eat in. The place is brand new so everything is clean and fresh. The menu has plenty of sandwich option to choose. You start with the bread which comes in white or wheat. They the size medium is eight inches and large is twelve inches. I had the large meatball sandwich on toasted white bread. The meatballs were tender and juicy and it didn’t taste like it was made from a frozen plastic bag. It was made with tomato sauce and melted mozzarella cheese. Tasted very good. I also got their medium Hero sandwich on toasted white bread. The Hero is made with ham, turkey, and roast beef topped with mayo lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. My mom liked it. This place is definitely better than Subway and it’s worth a try.

Brandnew place and has plenty of inside sitting. Staff is quick and know what they are doing. Glad to see one of these down house finally.
